Kemnebi Davis, aka Kem, was an accountant in the human world and panther shifter in the paranormal world, younger brother to his Alpha. He had been summoned to the Paranormal Council. It seemed they wanted to form an alliance with the Nymph Council. Without the alliance, the Council runs the risk of being pushed out of the High Council’s decisions. Kem knew there were only a few ways in which an alliance was made: 1) a takeover 2) a treaty and 3) a marriage. Aella was the only storm nymph born in three hundred years. The Council was proposing they marry. But Kem had no intention of marrying anyone other than his true mate; unfortunately, he didn’t think he’d have an option in the end. This quick, easy read was just what was needed. Laura Greenwood has given us a shifter romance that just takes a twist and turn here and there, gives us a slight mystery in the middle, and leaves us with a happily ever after and a sigh of feels. I received a free copy of this book and this is my honest review.

Kemenbi and Xylia met in a bar a year ago and have not seen each other since, Kem has been brought before the Council and told he has to marry a Storm Nymph but he has no desire to marry anyone but Lia but he has no idea what he is in for especially when he meets his bride to be, Aella is not interested in marrying this man and she makes it known to him, he, on the other hand, Kem knows that her sister is the one he wants but between the council and their father Kem has his work cut out for him. A short story very interesting storyline and the characters are very interesting. Drama, suspense, and love. I purchase this book. I volunteered an honest review.
Ever since a one night stand a year ago, Kem has been looking for the woman he was with that fateful night. All he knows is her first name, Lia. He’s been called to appear before the Council and he’s nervous. He’s surprised he’s on their radar at all but when he discovers what they want from him, he’s angry. Marrying someone other than his true mate isn’t something he wants to do. The politics involved here make it impossible for him to refuse unless he finds his true mate, so he will think about it.
He’s also to attend a reception to meet Aella the leader of the Dryad’s daughter. Let’s just say that doesn’t go so well when he calls Aella, Lia. While her father didn’t hear it she did and now she’s angry and uninterested. Kem does however discover that Lia is here and is most likely the Dryad’s other daughter.
Lia knows she has to leave quickly, she finds herself getting angry and that’s not a good thing. She’s had a bit of a problem since her encounter with Kem a year ago, she can shift into a panther.
Kem is able to track her down the meeting is both joyful and sensuous. Now he has to explain it all to the council.
There’s a lot more to this than meets the eye and I loved every minute of this book. It’s a short satisfying read with plenty of fun, laughter, conflict and sizzle.
I will be continuing this series in the near future.
Audiobook Review:
3.5 of 5 stars
This was a nice, quick, paranormal romance. Two people who met one night a year ago haven’t been able to stop thinking of each other since. When they meet again, the attraction is still undeniable but the circumstances are very different. I liked the steady, entertaining flow of the story. I liked the two main characters and found their circumstances quite interesting. The narrator did an excellent job. Sandra Parker is new to me but she brought a great energy and tone. I would absolutely like to listen to more of her in future.

A fast paced start to a new series, HEA, no cliff hangers. The Paranormal Council try their hand at arranged marriage for an alliance, but a natural mating causes misunderstanding and uncertainty. I really enjoyed this book, I’m not a fan of short stories but knowing there are another four does help! Excellent narration by Sandra Parker.
This is a wonderful short n quick read! Romance, shifter and Dryad, politics and good ol fashioned love… first date, love and a mating ritual started without either understanding it. Lia and Kem both know they are stuck on each other but not exactly knowing why and until being forced into an arranged marriage to sister Aella do they meet again. At this meeting they realize what happened and through the night end up meeting to talk whic kinda gets side-tracked. Kem ends up telling the dad and the sisters already having talked, have dad feeling left out but agreeing to the fact that the councils only want a Dryad married to a shifter. Everyone has an HEA! I gave it 4 stars because it was so short. Looking forward to the next book.
This is a very enjoyable “fated mates” tale, between, no surprise, Lia, a Dryad and Kem, a panther shifter. After meeting at a bar and having a brief fling, they lost contact for a year. Then they meet again at a party to announce the engagement of Lia’s sister to Kem. Fortunately true mates win the day and there is a happy ending for everyone, including Lia’s sister. The phrase “bite me” takes on a whole new dimension when Lia says it to Kem.
This book is a bit of an insta love story with swim drama thrown into it but you kind of expect that when it is a shifter book with mates. I liked listening to this book as the narrator did a good job at pulling you in.
I enjoyed the story. However it was more like a prologue or so I hope. I can see it being a great building block to an interesting world and characters I won’t mind getting to know. Also the steamy bits are nice and steamy.
Sandra Parker narrates these characters beautifully. In fact I forgot I was listening to a book and got completely sucked into the story.
This is a lovely story, on the lighter side yet still has some steam (which is perfectly blended into the story). The world feels fully formed and I really would like to carry on with these characters and the world they inhabit. It’s short but fully formed and an enjoyable listen.
The Dryad’s Pawprint by Laura Greenwood is a shifter romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Sandra Parker.
I just love Laura’s books! They always leave me begging for more! I cannot wait to dive into the second book The Vixen’s Bark to get Arabella and Bjorn’s love story.
Sandra did an amazing job on the narration. I just loved her voice. I cannot wait to listen to more projects she has worked on in the future.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves Paranormal Romances.

Lia and Kem met each other a year ago and
They started the mating process now a year later they meet again when the Paranormal Council telling Kem he has to marry a nymph who btw is Lia’s sister. I loved that mates can take on each other’s side like Lia being able to shift into Kem’s cat form.
This story had me from the beginning, a man that knows his own heart, will settle for no less, and willing to go up against his peers to get what his heart and animal wants. He has my vote everyday.
Thumbs up to Sandra Parker who narrated this novella in the Paranormal Councils Series.

A very quick yet highly entertaining beginning to a thrilling and magical series. This is the perfect summer backyard read that goes great with a cool drink and warm sunshine. A great reading experience.
Delightful Hot Panther Romance!
A wonderful start to this new series. Kem and Lia had such strong chemistry but no clue it meant they were fated mates. Luckily being fated mates trumps Kem’s arranged marriage to her sister. Fun, quick read with HEA! Enjoy!
I received an arc copy and am happy to leave my honest review.

Kem was a shifter panther and had been called to the shifter council. When he got the request, he has daydreaming about a woman he met a year ago and had a one night stand with. A year ago, Kemnebi Davis had been taken to a club by his co-workers and met a woman he could not stop thinking of. They had one night of passion, but all he knew was her first name and nothing more. Since they hadn’t spent much time talking, he wasn’t even sure she lived in this area.
Now Kem looked again at the summons he received from before the Shifter Council. Kem’s brother was an alpha, and he himself had avoided paranormal politics for almost 30 years. He wasn’t looking forward to this meeting. When he arrived before the 5-member Council, they told him they wanted to form an alliance with the Nymph Council. In that regard, they wanted him to marry the daughter of the Dryad nymphs leader. He refused to marry Aella, but they ignored his refusal. He was the right age, worthy of being an alpha himself, and unmarried. But he wanted to marry his true mate, not be forced by the archaic method for aligning themselves to gain power. But without that alliance, they risked being pushed out of the High Council’s decisions, and that could have serious consequences. He would be meeting his bride-to-be at the reception.
Aella tried to get her sister Lia to wear a more noticeable gown than the pale blue she chose, but Lia preferred blending into the background. She hurried into her gown with minimal fussing and put a cherry blossom in her hair.
From across the room, Kem saw Aaron Dentro with two women, but he couldn’t make out their faces. His mind immediately went to Lia, though. He looked away and the blonde had disappeared. Aaron introduced him to his eldest daughter Aella, who bore a striking resemblance to Lia, and he whispered “Lia” without thinking. Aella glared at him for the mistake. She was used to men falling all over her, yet Kem was completely distracted, so she pushed past him. He thought he heard his name whispered, but when he turned, he caught only a slight scent of cherry blossom.
Lia had recognized Kem coming toward them. She ran from the room, not wanting her “secret” to come to light. Eight months ago, her moody sister had been in a horribly bad tirade and Lia had fled from her, her own strong emotion of anger which no one had ever seen in her before forcing her to her room. Suddenly, although not a shifter, she had shifted into a panther due to the strong emotion! That could only happen if she had met her mate and he was a panther! She had not been with any man since a year ago when she had met Kem in a “normal” nightclub – so she presumed he was not a shifter. Before she reached her room which was close to where the reception was held, Kem caught up to her. She took him through the garden and they ended up in each other’s arms. He knew she wasn’t a shifter, but he thought he felt a bite on his neck as the two of them lost themselves in each other. Could he go through with the marriage to Aella that the Council insisted on – especially when he is pretty sure the intended mate they chose for him was the sister of the woman he suspects is his true mate?
This was a wonderful story with a good story line and well-portrayed characters. What would Kem choose? Duty or love? Grab your copy and find out how this will be resolved!
