It’s time to leave the past behind.
Ashley and her mom moved to Creek Water, Missouri when she was in high school. Instead of the new life of their dreams, Ashley’s life was a living hell. She was bullied, harassed, and never accepted by the other teens. Instead of following her dream of college and moving far away like her best friend did, once her mother became ill Ashley was sentenced to Creek Water forever. She seems stuck in the past but she still has dreams including her teen fantasy of a life with her high school crush, Davis Frothingham. The story is an interesting mix of observations from Ashley’s teen diary named Molly (after Molly Ringwold) and the effect the past has had on her adult life. Sometimes it is cute, other times it is sad. There is romance and drama and an overall good afternoon read.
This book was extra poignant for me because of my mom. She was the best and we had a great childhood. Her dementia never made her assume different identities and like Gran, she stayed so sweet thru the very end. This book addresses some really tough topics and it does it well. This is the only book I’ve read in this series but it read as a stand alone and I really enjoyed it.
Interesting, cute, romantic, easy read. Loved the characters (like I have in every book in the series!). Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend.
Ashley Monroe wants to move on from a horrid high school experience, to put the past behind her and start anew. Unfortunately her mom is not the role model she needs. Then the guy she crushed on all during high school shows up back in her life. How can she direct her own future?
I loved this book and ended up reading the whole series within a week. I enjoyed getting to know the characters and then having the same characters in the other books.
Whitney writes a very witty and humorous story that is full of the emotions of a young woman who wants to live a better life than the one she has shared with her mum in the trailer park. Ashley works hard to achieve this goal and shares her diary, Molly; with us as she goes on with her daily activities of working two jobs. I love the way Whitney weaves this past and present to give us a very funny story in among the heartaches of everyday life. Well written and engaging. Thanks Whitney for a pleasurable read.
Whitney Dineen Whitney Dineen The Dream, by Whitney DiWhitney Dineen neen is another terrific book in the Creek Water series.
As I’ve come to expect, Ms. Dineen spins stories with wonderful, quirky characters. … and The Dream is a perfect example.
Ashley is struggling with being good enough. She’s got lingering doubts and insecurities from high school, especially around Davis.
Buck is Ashley’s friend from high school who flies in from London to help her.
What she doesn’t know is that Davis is all in … he thinks she’s the Bees Knees … but has a hard time getting through to her.
This story has a HEA is a fun read that is a standalone but part of a heartwarming series (so read this one and then start at book #1). It’s got chemistry, strong emotion, and is feel good book from the first word.
The only thing that would have been better for me would have been a dual POV. I loved Davis and would have enjoyed his perspective.
I received an ARC. This is my honest reviewWhitney Dineen
This is my first time reading something by Ms. Dineen and I really enjoyed it. It had a good plot and the story flowed well. For the most part, it was a light-hearted story, but there were some emotional ups and downs. The characters were enjoyable and I loved Ashley’s hard work and dedication. The characters were very relatable so that made the story all the more engaging. Plenty of humor, wit, and romance to keep you glued till the last page! I will definitely be going back to read the first three books in this series!

I have read all the books in this series and wish there were more coming up in the series
Ashley has always had a crush on Davis. The characters were so well written and I enjoyed every bit of this storyline. The cast of characters in this book each was so well written I felt like I personally knew them.

From laughter to tears and back again. Buckle up, The Dream is a dream of an adventure that you won’t want to end!
The Dream is an absolute dream of a book-filled with heart, hope, love, and forgiveness. I laughed ‘tilI cried and now I’m sitting here wishing this wasn’t the last book in the series. Some one in Hollywood please turn these into movies already!
Ashley Monroe grew up on the wrong side of the tracks. She’s determined to make a better life for herself, and show her naysayers who she really is, but then life happens.Like every book in this series, there is laughter, so much laughter, then come the tears. Life is a journey of highs and lows, but through them all The Dream shows that it’s all about perspective. It’s about gratitude, humility, the art of forgiveness, and need to love yourself. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. I just wish it wasn’t the last in the series; I will miss my friends from Creek Water far too much for them to be fictional characters.
Ashley is chasing her dreams since she was a little girl. She had a crush on Davis all her life. But shw never acted on it because he was way out of her league. Now she can help him and his family with his Gran. But will she be able to overcome her fears and really star dreaming big? A touching love and live story about friendship, family and love.
The Creek Water Series is one of my all-time feel-good series. In each book in the series tackles a current social issue, bullying happens to be prominent in this story. Ashley moved to Creek Water, Missouri from Chicago, Illinois, and started her sophomore year of high school. As an outsider, and the new girl on the block, her high school experience is one that Ashley wishes she could forget. Except that would mean she needs to forget about the man she loves Davis Frothingham. The Frothingham family matriarchy Grand is terminally ill and Ashley has been assisting her with home visits. The Frothingham family adores Ashely and is hoping for a love match for Davis. The past has a way of messing with your future.
I just finished the last of the 4 books. I feel the end was a little rushed. I would love a 5 book with more weddings and happy endings. I think we need more with all of characters. So many side characters that need closure with.
Emotionally charged lovely story. The Dream is a beautifully written page-turner that didn’t take me long to read. Mostly because I couldn’t put it down. Ashley and Davis are the protagonists of this story but, the other characters also have pivotal roles in this emotionally intense novel. I think that Ashley is by far the major character of this story. This is the only book in the Creek Water series I read, perhaps it would have been better to read the other stories to get more of an in-depth feel for the Frothingham family. This book is so much more than your average rom-com chick-lit. At times I felt so frustrated, as I hate bullies and any kind of intimidation and people being put down by others because they think that they are better. There was some confusion due to uncertainties, assumptions and presumptions made about the correct pairing of some of the characters. Ashley’s conflicts and past traumas have been brilliantly portrayed, so were her feelings for Davis. Her efforts to give the family a semblance of a last good family memory with Mrs Frothingham, Davis’s grandmother was touching. I most definitely recommend this well-written, well-edited romance with a lovely HEA.
Fun moments, cute moments, laugh out loud moments and serious moments all wrapped up together between the pages. Endearing characters you’ll love and feel like family when you’ve finished reading. A good clean romantic comedy you’ll be glad you added to your summer reading list. Highly recommend!

I’ve been so entertained by the series from the beginning and when the release date of this episode was announced it went straight onto my pre-release wishlist. So you can imagine that I jumped at the chance when I was offered an ARC. I was not disappointed! This story was entertaining from the first page to the end. I do hope there is more to come in this series.
