Head Chef and owner of a booming restaurant, Gabby Merrick not only has to prepare for a hurricane, but she has a tough decision to make, too. As much as she wants to marry Andrew Hughes, something is stopping her. In her heart of hearts, she still can’t accept the fact that Ethan Hastings, the love of her life, is dead, killed on a mission over in Afghanistan. And what’s making it worse, the … the bartender she just hired, looks remarkably like Ethan, but he can’t be Ethan. For one thing, the bartender is much older, and for another, Ethan’s dead, right? She’s either losing her mind, or she’s just as sane as any other normal, human being, and the guy’s Ethan. And if so, where in the heck has he been for the past three years?

Tara Ames has me hooked on her top gun like series…
Can you come back from the dead and have the life you want?
Each book that I read of Ms. Ames just gets better and with Ethan/LT story you’ll be wrapped up in the plot from the very beginning.
Can Gabby finally let her fiance go and move on with her life with another man or is it too soon? Not only that but with Hurricane Issac expected in the next 24 hours this will mean that Lt & Gabby will be together even though he’s trying to convince her that he’s not her ex-fiance she seems right though him. But with their attraction just as strong as before can they keep their hands off of each other?
But when her new bartender turns out to be not to be a Marine Veteran with PTSD and connected to her new boyfriend she’ll have to use everything she’s got to convince her kidnapper to keep her alive. But when she finds out that he’s connected to human sex trafficking, drug dealing and a nuclear bomb threat that LT group of men have been after for the past year. Will he be able to rally his team and save her from a fate worse than she imagines being sold off by her captor?
Fantastic book and I can’t wait for Tory’s story next . I wish I could give The Dream Maker more than 5 stars.
Gabby is swamped with thoughts of her impending wedding to Andrew. Those thoughts aren’t completely good, though. Gabby is saddled with preparing for a hurricane in the midst of her booming business, while the thoughts of her one true love, Ethan, fester in the back of her mind. It does not help matters any that the new bartender she just hired looks just like Ethan. Ethan was declared dead in a tragic mishap while deployed over seas. As Hurricane Isaac speeds toward Gabby’s town, she finds herself in quite the bind when she is kidnapped and becomes part of a human trafficking ring.
Ethan made his decision many years ago to leave his past behind, never knowing that he would be back in his hometown on a rescue mission to save his childhood sweetheart. Will he be able to save her? If anyone recognizes him, not only does it put Gabby in jeopardy, but it puts his entire team in danger.
This story just pulls at your heartstrings. These two have been through so much and I read this story all the way through in a few hours becauseI wanted to see them get back together. Gabby’s heart new all along what she wanted and she manages to drag her reader along for the ride, too!
I received this book free in return for my honest review.
Can he hide his true identity from the woman who still holds his heart? A great read with a page turning plot and forfilling happy ever after. Grab it now!
“She had no idea how things would end between them, if he would stay and be with her forever, or if their moment together was just that, a moment in time, a fairy tale, but without the happy ending.”
Gabby Merrick has been living in the shadow of her lost love, Ethan Hastings, a Navy Aviator that was killed in the line of duty. Seeing her brother find love and move past the grief of losing his best friend, Gabby attempts to make a life with Andrew. A man who has everything a girl could ask for, but for one thing…he’s not her Ethan. Grief is a powerful emotion, and Gabby is convinced that it is her overpowering need to move on that has her believing her newly hired bartender, LT, is Ethan returned to her. A hurricane is on the horizon, and Gabby is stuck in the middle of a storm raging outside as well as one within her heart. Broken and lost and afraid to let go of the past, will Gabby be able to ever get her happily ever after, or is that just something dreams are made of…
The Dream Maker by Tara Ames is a story of love lost and second chances. Highly recommend!
It’s been a while since I read Risk Taker but I soon got straight back into this series. Gabby was Ethan’s childhood sweetheart and they were engaged to be married but before he is deployed on tour. She gives him an ultimatum. It’s either her or his job. Ethan chooses his job and is left brokenhearted when she breaks up with him. He decides to leave his past behind once & for all and makes the decision that will leave him no option to go back home. This all changes when a secret mission takes him back to his home town, straight to Gabby’s place of work. Everything about this is all wrong. Can he really fool her into thinking he is someone else after all these years? Will his disguise be enough or will she see right through it? His heart still belongs to Gabby even after all this time. His body reacts to her as if they’ve never been apart. No other woman has come close to making him feel like he does for her. She has been in his dreams every day since he left her behind. Did he make the right choice back then? If anyone recognises him his team could be put in danger. I love this story. It really gets your heart racing and the characters are so lovable you can’t help but want them to get back together again. Definitely a must read book.
