GideonFor one thousand years, I’d been alive, a wizard in a magical world. Through the years, magic had lost its power until we were secondary citizens. I’d survived regime changes, the birth nations, the fall of civilizations. I’d long been in a position of power, esteemed and feared within our community. That much I remember. It’s the last hundred years that are a little foggy. Somehow, this … foggy. Somehow, this once skilled wizard, wielder of magic, had become a puppet. Controlled by Kael. I did the right thing in quitting my position in the council. Who could respect me after all that? I don’t even know who I am anymore.
How could I help anyone else?
Diem
All I wanted was to find the lab and find my sister. Instead, I found a guy. A gruff guy. A wasted guy. And he was particularly quick to point out he wasn’t a guy at all. He was a wizard.
Whatever.
I was more than I seemed too. Lately. Thanks to a wackadoodle performing experiments on humans. Thanks to some newly introduced DNA. The procedure was explained to me. And the outcome was soon evident. I was different…stronger…angrier…tougher. In the past, I was weak, timid. Now I was a force to be reckoned with.
I needed Gideon. And though he didn’t know it yet, I think he needed me too.

I loved this book! Lions, tigers and bears…oh my, is that a dragon?! Learning to live with changes pushed on you is hard enough but throw in evil shifters, kidnappings, murder and mayhem and a trip down shaman lane could bring a girl to her knees. Finding her mate just puts the icing on the cake. Looking forward to more in this series

The fourth book in the Immortal Dragon series another great story in this series. I enjoyed reading Diem and Gideon’s story, there is suspense, drama, danger, evil, a villain, lost memory, being turned against their will, and romance. I want to read the next book. Gideon is a one thousand year old wizard who was manipulated against his will for nefarious activities One of those was turning Diem into a dragon shifter. The entity responsible is now dead and she is looking for her sister before she is turned. He had promised to help her but hasn’t come to her aid. They have a lot of enemies who would like to see their demise. I enjoyed reading this installment in the dragon series. To truly understand references to past events in their lives, you will need to read the previous books. Linzi is a very interesting writer and it would be worth reading the other books
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book
This is the fourth book in this wonderful series and I do believe you need to read the previous three to get the true feel for this story as there is so much information about the characters in the previous stories
Diem is a dragon shifter who was kidnapped along with her sister and has been experimented on in the labs in fact that is where she was given her dragon she wants to find her twin sister Kayda and Gideon who is a warlock has offered to help her. Diem is really struggling she has been thrown into a world of supernaturals and has a animal inside her that is slighty crazy most of the time the only time it seems top calm is when Gideon is near Gideon is suffering his own trauma he knows that he did evil things under the control of Keal something as a strong warlock he couldn’t understand. He is also attracted to Diem and he knows why her dragon calms near him but he also knows that he isn’t good enough for her Can these two find Diem’s sister and can they find the peace they both need and want with one another You will have to read to see
An entertaining read filled with fun characters that are faced with twists and turns along their path.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving an honest review. As I’ve said before, I always give honest reviews whether people appreciate them or not.
I read and reviewed the first three books in the Immortal Dragon Series: The Dragon’s Psychic, The Dragon’s Human and The Dragon’s Mate from Linzi Baxter. If you haven’t read them yet go do it! Really.
This book begins with Diem sitting outside of Gideon’s house trying to decide whether to go in or not. In case you don’t remember, we met Diem in the third book of the series and she’s a Dragon shifter. We met Gideon in the first book of the series, and he’s the warlock from the title of this book. Anyway, Gideon had once told Diem that he would contact her and help her find her twin sister Kayda. Both sisters had been kidnapped and brought to the labs from the second and third books. The lab she was brought to is where Diem was turned into a dragon. I don’t want to get into talking too much about Gideon because I don’t want to give anything away.
Diem is having some serious issues getting used to her Dragon. She doesn’t quite get that there’s a whole other paranormal world that she had no clue existed. She knows two things, however. Her Dragon just wants to be close to Gideon at all times and she must go find her sister. To say that Gideon has a few issues is just being nice about it. After the big finish of The Dragon’s Mate (Book 3), he has no memory and feels guilty for everything that happened even if it wasn’t his fault. They spend a day or two at Lucy and Kai’s house before heading out on a road trip for metaphysical clues. Eventually they head to Costa Rica to work with a Shaman!
I think it’s an understatement saying that Diem and Gideon have communication problems. Luckily, they do eventually work through them, but it wasn’t easy. I appreciated the characters from the first three books along with getting some back story for future books. I said this in other reviews, but I loved the Immortal Dragon series so much that I purchased them on Amazon even though I received free copies via Booksprout. Heck, I pre-ordered this book too! Now I’ve pre-ordered the The Dragon’s Wolf (Immortal Dragon Book 5) which will be released on November 3, 2020. I LOVE this series! Oh, did I mention that I still love Alida from the first book?
What would you do if you were suddenly turned into a dragon shifter? Oh, yes and that’s AFTER you and your twin sister had been kidnapped by some crazy people and held in a lab. Poor Diem is dealing with learning supernatural creatures exist and she’s now one of them…. On top of that she’s no clue where her sister is. No matter what, she WILL find her sister and maybe this hot warlock will help? An exciting read with lots of twists and turns along the way. Definitely not boring!
