When Dr. Layla MacFie realizes someone is stealing much-needed medical supplies, she doesn’t know who to trust inside her surgery. Determined to find the culprit herself, she reaches out to Lochguard’s electrician, Chase, who just happens to be the younger male who’s been trying to woo her for months. But since there’s no one else to help install the security cameras, she can’t avoid him any … longer and ends up being alone with him far more than she wants. If only the life of a dragon-shifter doctor wasn’t so complicated, she would be tempted to give in and sleep with the male.
Chase McFarland has known for the last two years, ever since the day after his twentieth birthday, that Layla is his true mate. While he tried to resist his dragon’s badgering, it didn’t take long for Chase to realize how amazing Layla is and that he wants to take care of and claim her for himself. His initial attempts to win her all fail, but when she asks for his help with a secret project, he decides to change tactics and prove he’s a worthy male. The more time they spend together, the more Layla gives in, until he’s ready to tell her the truth and face the consequences.
As the pair dance around each other and discover each other’s secrets, they find out who the thief is and must decide what to do. Will Chase finally be able to prove he’s mature enough for the much older Layla, or will she forever be chained to her work and deny what both she and her dragon crave?

Oh my I loved it!
This book is full of laughs, romance, spice and everything nice . We with awsome characters. Don’t miss this one dragon fans.
Great series!
Chase’s dragon isn’t bashful, “his dragon hummed. ‘turn and bump into her. Let her feel how we want her.'” The man is quite flirty, “don’t worry, I have enough dirty thoughts for the both of us, lass.” Chase is wrapped around his woman’s fingers, “eff, the look in your eyes, Layla. There’s no male alive who could say no to that.” I liked this book, I liked Chase
I absolutely love this book. I loved Chase and Layla. But most important – I really like it when we see other characters interacting that we have come to draw close too. There is still the interaction between Lochguard and Stonefire…an introduction to Iranian Dragons. I can see where the world council thingie we saw in an epilogue from another book can come into play here. Pick up the story – read it – you cannot go wrong!
Oh, man or should I say dragon! This is amazing.
Doctor Layla lives for her job–that’s it. She feels her responsibility to the clan is her driving force and she alone must make it work. When she notices missing meds she needs to find out who and why? Unfortunately, she’s going to need some help. Chase, a younger dragon, agrees to keep her secret and install cameras so she can see who is guilty. The problem is she’s strongly attracted to the dragon and his charming flirty ways. No time. Besides, there are few males who can deal with a doctor’s schedule let alone a younger one.
Chase is delighted to help. It gives him a reason to be near his true mate. Yes, despite the rarity of a younger male and older female she is his and he has known for two years. He’s tried patience now he has a new tactic and this is just what he needs. He’s watched her work herself so hard, now he plans to take care of his female and prove himself useful.
It is such a touching romance. Oh, don’t think its just a love story. Not with this author. There is another story going on that pulls the two even closer. I can’t hint at this without spoilers so you’ll have to find out for yourself.
For new fans, this story will grab you and give a new favorite author for your list. For old fans not only is this the sweetest love story, but it is also steamy hot. There are visits with old friends including some adorable wee dragon kids, and possible new clans to think about. It is packed with good reading. Don’t miss it.
We are back at Lochguard Clan. Our focus in this book is on Dr. Layla MacFie, head doctor. Layla is a doctor focused on her career and responsibilities. It is easier on everyone if you do not form close attachments on others when treating them for ailments or injuries. She is about thirty five years old and has given up the thought of having a mate and children as she is too busy. She did share responsibilities with Gregor Innes the other doctor for the clan but he found his true mate, Dr. Sid of Stonefire Clan and relocated. Layla needs another doctor.
Adding to her exhaustion and endless paperwork is the mystery of why there are missing medical supplies. She needs to find out who is taking them and why they need them. She turns to the handsome and young, Chase McFarland, the clan electrician. Chase has caught she and her dragon’s eye many times. There is a mutual attraction and interest with both human and dragon. He is a little over ten years younger. Chase agrees to help Layla setting up secret surveillance cameras.
Chase is out to prove to Layla that just maybe they can have it all and explore the attraction between them. Perhaps it is a true mate pairing. First, they must solve the mystery of the missing supplies.
Along the way we learn more about Layla’s family life and her missing sister, Yasmin. These revelations could start a clan war with Clan One in Iran.
With so much going on and so many due to give birth in Lochguard, Layla does not have time to explore and enjoy a mating frenzy. She and Chase are enjoying each other without a mating frenzy or bond and perhaps thinking why not? Will this relationship work out?
This book is so different from the others. Layla is a focused physician caring for others. Chase is a younger man that know what he wants. There is some great follow-up on favorite characters from Lochguard and Stonefire Clans. Then there is the possibility of finding out about Clan One in Iran! You can never have enough Dragon Clans. Loved this book.
This was such a sweet read. We had already met these characters from previous books, so I was super excited to read their story. It was definitely worth the wait. Plenty of intrigue, suspense, and twist and its that I didn’t see coming. Overall a enjoyable and entertaining read super excited to read the next book in the series. I voluntarily read and review this ARC no monetary compensation was received and the opinions I have expressed are my own.
