A harrowing escape. A cunning hero. An unlikely alliance. The Red Dragon Warrior is a tactician without peer. The Blue Dragon Warrior is a mage without equal. Kelsa escapes from the dungeon of the vengeful empress, but how can she dodge an entire city full of enemies? Dare Kelsa tie her fate to the two warriors? The enemy is snapping at her heels. Kelsa must thread a tangled urban maze with … thread a tangled urban maze with nothing but her wits and a dagger.
A path of indecision, torment, and betrayal stretches before her. One wrong step, one false word, will lead to her capture. The Dragon Warriors are quite willing to reveal their secrets: how to lunge into danger, parry overwhelming attacks, and cut her way to freedom, but only if Kelsa surrenders herself as a living puppet.
Venture into the realm of The Dragon’s Mercy, the second epic fantasy intrigue of The Mage Conspiracy series. Discover a dark world where love and lies cut deeper than any sword.

The Dragon’s Mercy (The Mage Conspiracy #2) by Jeffrey Bardwell is an amazing story that I have in this series. This is book number two in this amazing series and I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about mages then this story is defnately for you .
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
This book continues the saga begun in “The Knight’s Secret”, with Kelsa and “Sir Corbin” (Maven magically transformed with the ring, as Kelsa had been in book 1). They escape the prison, and begin to travel. However, they run into difficulty even before they get out of town. Kelsa is transformed into Minerva (or Minerva is resurrected into Kelsa’s body) through whose eyes learn the back story that was referred to throughout the first book. Maven and Minerva , the famous Warrior Mages, are seen as young twins who have a love/hate relationship as different abilities begin to be seen in the young girls as they approach puberty. Significant events are portrayed to help us understand the women they became. They are trained by a Warrior Mage, and prepared to fight alongside the army, as did their trainer. We then learn what happened that set the sisters against each other, explaining several points from the first novel. By doing so, the author continues his world-building.
From the beginning, I was drawn back into the story. This book does a nice job of continuing the story while going back in time to tell us how Maven and Minerva came to be Warriors, what happened to permanently break the sisterly bond, and how Sir Corbin was involved in their lives. Then, the focus is brought back to the present in the story, with Kelsa and Maven trying to escape the Empress’s troups charged with capturing them. Now, I await the third book with eagerness, to find out what happens to Kelsa and Miranda after their trials in this book.
I was given an advanced reader’s copy. I have enjoyed the book and wanted to encourage others who enjoy great epic fantasy to join in reading this series.
Wonderful book. Loved the story line. Want to read more.
This is the second in a series and my first in this series. the book can standalone but there are some references that are confusing. I cheated and read the characters reminders at the back before reading the book.
Very well written. Not my typical genre to read but enjoyed it immensely. Did kind of figure out where the twin was bout half to 2/3 the way through the book.
To be hones t the blurb confused me when trying to refresh my memory of the book.
This is my honest and freely given review for This ARC copy.
BREAK OUT THE BIG GUNS!!!
Hey guys are you ready for this? Probably not, but I’m committed. LOL. Talk about a wake up call. When Jeff does his thing, he does it with style, confidence and limitless possibilities. You have all the action and drama along with the nerve racking moments of confusion. The excitement and adventure take you to a world far removed from ours. The characters are true to form, intriguing and complex with the right balance to keep you glued to your seat as the tale unfolds. The scenes are so vividly detailed that it comes alive before your eyes. Think of it as watching a movie in 3D Technicolor. The twists and turns along with the suspense makes for and interesting storyline with a strong plot that holds your attention until the last word. With such graphic descriptions that really bring this read together with an impressive backdrop that keeps your imagination engaged as well as focus on this page turning bombshell. Jeff did a remarkable job bringing this read together beautifully. Awesome job Jeff, thanks for sharing this fantastic read with us.
Kelsa and Corbin can’t seem to catch a break in this action-packed amazing addition to the series! The story picks up where it left off in “The Knight’s Secret” and the adventure continues with fighting, drinking, magic, and more! The story also includes a lot of back story between May and Minnie, the twins, (red and blue dragons), childhood. I love the cover! It might be nice if there was something of the present in it and not just the twins from the past but is lovely all the same. I can not wait to see where the story takes us next!
I was gifted an ARC in return of an honest review.
Kelsa learns more about her grandfather’s past and how he and her grandmother and her sister interacted in this book. The story is very detailed and full of unexpected twists and turns and the characters are very complex and well described.
