After years of abuse, she believed she was worth nothing. But when she is sacrificed to a dragon she becomes his treasure…Born of violence, Beryl is the biggest and brawniest of his dragon shifter brothers. His beast loves a good fight and has been nicknamed The Hulk after his heroes; Incredible and Hogan. When his last fight gets out of control and his dragon nearly kills another shifter, he … kills another shifter, he knows the only thing that will wrangle the beast is a female sacrifice. However, when the human he’s destined to mate with arrives, she’s small and meek and cringes from his touch.
With a prostitute as a mother and a pimp as a boyfriend, Poppy is all too familiar with the violent tendencies of the opposite sex. The unsightly spots on her skin make her unsuitable for work on the streets. Her lack of skills in the kitchen disqualify her as a domestic goddess. So when she is sacrificed to a fire breathing dragon, she’s certain it’s as a late night snack. Though the hulking man’s gentle touch awakens a desire she’s never felt before, his brutish ways aggravate the wounds she keeps hidden.
Beryl realizes he can’t continue to brawl and earn his timid mate’s trust. He’s willing to be patient, but with each day she isn’t claimed, his beast gets worse and other shifters become more of a threat. To accept Beryl’s claim, Poppy will need to overcome her past and learn to love herself, something she’s not sure she could ever do -even for the gentle giant she’s falling for.
If you love alpha male shifters, fated mates, and steamy romance with a touch of 80’s nostalgia, then you don’t want to miss The Last Dragons series!

This second book in the last dragon’s series is another bona fide winner!
A story that is filled with drama, 80’s nostalgia, and humor personified.
I enjoyed this addition to the series, and the author’s excellent writing that kept me engaged until the last page.
This is a standalone edition but it’s helpful to have read book one as some themes continue in book two.
Beryl, biggest, baddest dragon shifter of his clan wants a mate, and he’s hired Valkyrie, Morrigan to bring him a female sacrifice, from beyond the veil.
I have an affinity for bad boys, and Beryl though fierce, faults and all is a wonderful character.
Poppy the heroine was so sweet, and suffered so much in the human world before being brought to the veil. Losing her mother at a young age, being teased as a child because of an affliction that caused spots on her skin – in the veil we soon discover why she has those spots- when her abusive “boyfriend” that piece of work gets his just rewards, boy was I happy!
I just wanted to give Poppy a hug! The path to love was a challenge for them both, and I was rooting for them all the way.
Lion shifters, fairies, trolls, Valkyries, we are introduced to a host of supporting characters.
The world created by the author is fascinating, fun, and original.
Who’d have thought dragons could be hooked on 80’s era culture. What a hoot!
I really hope the author continues with more stories in the veil. Beryl’s brothers need their HEA too!

Poppy was treated like crap by Bruce he hit her whenever he thought that she did something wrong or force himself on her. But Morgana saved her but killed Bruce, because she was of dragon blood. The sores on her skin were scales like a dragon. She was given to Beryl a dragon for his mate who took some of his emeralds for payment. Poppy fell in love with him and he loved her after they got past the way she felt and the lion problems it got better for them! Now I am ready for the next book!
Poppy is saved by Morrigan and brought to Beryl. Poppy has self confidence and self esteem issues from her past. Beryl teaches her the meaning of true love. She learns to stand up for herself. Good book.
