The story is AMAZING!!! I adore it!!! Easily one of my new favorites- I hope to get it in paperback eventually- and I can’t afford paperbacks and never get them anymore!
This book had some DELICIOUS twists that managed to catch me off-guard, even though I spent the hours I wasn’t able to read dreaming up ‘conspiracy theories.’ I got pretty close on most of them, though! Brilliantly written, this story was instantly captivating all the way through. I hated that I had to put it down for work and such. It’s my favorite fairy tale retelling, which I didn’t think was possible. The last one was amazing. (Still is, but, I mean… this one has DRAGONS!)
Anyway. All I’m saying is that it is EASILY worth the price, even for a paperback. I adore this book and am already itching to read the next one! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Try it- I think you’ll be hard-pressed to not also adore it. Lichelle earned herself a reader for life!
Interesting fairy tale retelling, even though there wasn’t much of a sleeping beauty. (Dormir?) This book held my attention from the start and I read it in a day. I enjoyed the story and characters. The ending was a bit rushed and the end responsibilities of the main character, Elisa, seemed a bit much for a 17 year old, especially odd the way experienced adults were willing to follow her, but, hey, it’s fantasy. If you like fairly clean fairy tale retellings, with likeable characters, and good pacing, you’ll like this story.
From beginning to end, this book kept me wondering what would happen next. It is written extremely well and kept my attention. I just couldn’t put it down.
The Dragon Princess is an interesting take on Sleeping Beauty, veering far from the original plot line to weave an imaginative and fun tale about a princess who believes she is cursed to become a dragon at age 18. The story is about finding your own voice and bravery. Lichelle Slater does an excellent job of world building, introducing many types of characters into the story line, and giving you plenty of plot twists. Anyone who loves fairy tales and princess/heroine stories will love this book.
This is an awesome heroic tale of dragons, self-discovery, and unexpected love. A well written tale of adventure, dragons and romance that pulled me in , made me laugh, made me cry and at times had me on the edge of my seat! A fab twist on sleeping beauty and I cannot wait to read more!
Dormir stood to leave, but I grabbed his fingers.
“Don’t go,” I asked weakly. “Please?”
Dormir smiled sheepishly and rubbed the back of his neck. “You want me here?”
“You can close your eyes.” I smiled.
He chuckled and sat down before closing his eyes.
“Just don’t pass out,” I teased.
The way this author writes is inoxicating. I honestly felt like a child waiting to fall asleep while faires whispered a lullaby right into my ear. The world-building involved with this book is absolutely astounding. I’m thoroughly impressed with the main characters, they were so lovable.
This book was a beauty to read. I enjoyed it from page one and am still enjoying it now, after having finished.
Amazing start of a new series!!!
This is the firts Lichelle’s book I have read and I loved it!!! … It’s so wonderful, great world building and stroy line, awesome FMC… Elise is a wonderful girl, with a heavy burden on her shoulders, who finds out her entire life is been a lie, she is so much more than she thought she was and now she has to fight to save not just the humans, but two more races she never met before, where she happens to find her true love … In spite of her fears and doubts about herself, she’s determined to do the right thing for everybody and, finally, establish peace in her kingdom. We get our HEA, but the story continues… Can’t wait for book 2!!!
