Candace Belvins is amazing writer and has a weird sense of writting style all her own but she never leaves the reader disappointed. Who would ever think to make a virgin shifter to cut herself so she can shift into her form. It takes a strong willed person to do that.
I really think I shall always refer to this book as the Swan Queen, because for me, it was all about Sophia coming into her own. The wonderful side-effect of her grabbing control of her life, is that it gives Aaron his wish as the Dragon King
Sophia has been sheltered and locked away her entire life. This isn’t an exaggeration, she actually knows very little of the world. What she does know and remember is that she can always go to Aaron. She does this, and it is from there her strength grows. She learns even those she thought she knew, kept things from her. She becomes a person she never thought she could be, but she recognizes the person she wants to become. She does all this with the support and guidance of Aaron. The one time they had a rift, my heart hurt for her. By the end of the book, who Sophia was at the beginning is nearly unrecognizable, except for her kind heart
Aaron has been around forever, and that is really the truth. There are only three of his kind left, al males. He has never forgot what his grandmother told him, and he wants to make sure he is pursuing Sophia for who she is, not what she is. He does everything right for her, except for that one time. When he explains to Sophia what happened to make him the way he is, the scene, the setting, his voice, he told such a powerful tale, it hit me hard.
These two are definitely perfect together, and the world that is set-up is so rich and vibrant, and the characters, all of them so interesting. If you like your paranormal with some sexy times, and a few deeply kinky characters on the side, you will love this book!
I loved this book, I highly recommend reading if you enjoy steamy paranormal romance.
The book follows Sophie on her brave journey to become her own person and take the crown of Swan Queen. Enters Aaron who is Dragon King to help assist her in anything she requires. These 2 fit perfectly together and the chemistry between them is off the charts. Take the wild ride as they wonder from reality into faerie realm, deal with bad guys, and as Sophie learns what it means to be Queen.
This is a good book. It is more violent than I like. I finished it, despite the violence. But, I will be careful to screen future books by this author. It is at or over the edge of what I enjoy.
Awesome, will want to read more by this author.
This the tale of a protected and isolated Swan Princess who had only two companions growing up – her teacher and mentor, Aaron and one of her bodyguards, Jonathon a Leopard shifter. Expected to be Queen in name only and promised to a cruel Swan who would be King, she spent years planning her escape. Three weeks before her 25th birthday and planned marriage, she succeeded. She made it to Aaron and asked for assistance with her options for her continued freedom from both her father and her fiancé. Sophia recognized that Aaron was a being of power but had no idea he was the King of the Dragons.
The story continues part in Faerie with all of the supernatural implications you can expect there. Sophia and Aaron must deal with many Supernaturals in both worlds forging alliances with as many as possible against her father while fending off kidnapping and assassination attempts.
It’s more than just an interesting book with great characters only Ms. Blevins can always be counted on to supply but we are also treated to some steamy and harsh BDSM scenes so well written that like me you won’t be able to put it down until finished. I am addicted to the world she creates and the people in them.
