They say that where there’s smoke, there’s fire.
I was happy with my life as a health coach.
I had three cats, friends, and a thriving practice.
I didn’t need a man….
Or so I thought.
But when a sexy fire captain with an ego as high as his blood pressure signed on as a client
I knew I was in hot water.
Could I put out the fire of attraction?
Or would I get burned trying to tame him
This is a short, quick, easy read. This is a well written story with great characters. I will encourage you to get this one especially for that lazy afternoon read when you just want to relax. This one is worth your time. I couldn’t put this one down.
Dogs don’t climb on roofs
The Dominant Fire Chief is the third book in the A “Woman On Top” series/non-series. This story is about Pam who has a degree in nutrition and is a certified health coach who helps clients lose weight and reverse health problems using food. She is also well on her way to becoming a “crazy cat lady”. Currently three fur babies own her, as after all we all know that people don’t own cats it is cats that own their people. Pam’s are named Kale, Tofu and Sprout. Pam is friends with Nikki and Karen and she is the one that chose the book Woman on Top as the current book club read. It is a self help book and she chose it because she needs to make some changes in her life and thought her friends might benefit from it also.
One day Kale makes a successful break for it out the front door of Pam’s townhouse and goes straight up the tree in front. Just as Pam is about to coax her down using a can of tuna Pam’s neighbor comes out of his house and bangs his front door which scares Kale up the tree even further. So after a few more hours and multiple other neighbors coming around the same neighbor throws a tennis ball at Kale and ends up hitting her which causes Kale to jump onto the roof. Now Pam is definitely going to have to call the fire department. When they arrive she is talking with a female firefighter about the situation when a very deep voice behind her says “Dogs don’t climb on roofs.” That voice is coming from a very broad, muscular, tall and handsome man, Captain Paolo Fernandez. Luckily for Kale it is the nice firefighter who climbs up and rescues the little escape artist.
Later that night Pam receives a voice message a potential new client about needs help with high blood pressure. But as his message was a bit rude she texts him back and includes the link to her schedule for him to book an appointment if he wants to.
When Pam meets her new client for a consultation at her office it turns out to be non other than Captain Fernandez. He is grouchy and rude during their appointment but Pam gets him to agree to work together for a month to see if his blood pressure drops. As they work together Pam discovers that there is more to Paolo than a red Porsche 911, a grouchy disposition, a super hot body and a chiseled jaw. Paolo suffered from a personal tragedy two years ago and ever since he has not been the same man. Will she be able to help him in his journey to healing by first helping him physically? How far is she willing to go to teach him relaxation techniques? What happens when you mix a cooking lesson with a bottle of white and red?
I really liked this book as it is well written and has an engaging story-line. The characters are great in that both Pam and Paolo have some personal things to deal with and need to make some changes, whether they are ready for it or not. Their chemistry together is great as it first starts from dislike but then as they spend time together that dislike turns into an attraction that will bring Paolo back to the land of the living and Pam into a crazy cat lady with another cat named Chipotle, a dog named Pepper and a handsome fireman named Paolo in her bed.
Pam is a health coach and is on her way to being known as the cat lady. One day while taking the trash out one of her cats gets out and she needs the fire dept. to come for help. The captain of the dept. complains the entire time they are there while a woman climbs a ladder to get Pam’s cat. Pam gets a new referral for a high blood pressure and when she meets the client its the fire captain from the previous day Paolo. Sparks fly between them and he doesn’t believe her type of treatment will work but he’ll give it a try. Things progress pretty quick after the first visit but will Paolo be ready to move on after losing his family?
This is an amazing story that will hook you from the first chapter. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Wonderful story, entertaining storyline, plenty of drama and intrigue.
The story delivers exactly what was promised; a fantastic thrill ride from start to finish. Lots of hot sex with a hunky fire chief and a smart, sassy heroine. Loved every minute of it.

“Cat on a Hot Tile Roof”. That’s the title of chapter two…
It only gets better from there. This storyline is great. It is filed with everything I like in a good read. Everything from laughter—like the pee your pants kind, to tears—like a good ole ugly kind, angst, to love and back again.
The characters interact so well with each other that I was so deeply entrenched into the story that I forgot to go to sleep at bedtime. It was worth the lost sleep.
Yep. This is a good one!
An excellent story about the heartbreak of losing a family and the healing of finding someone new. Fire Chief Paolo lost his family in an accident and was having a hard time dealing with the grief. His Dr. had him go to a Health coach for his blood pressure where he met Pam. There was an immediate connection between them but Pam had questions that Paolo finally sorted out.
