I skipped over a lot of steamy parts.
sex language did not finish
This is one of those books where you feel like, everything can only go wrong for our two romantic leads…only to have everything go exactly right in the end. Loved it!
This book was a bit of a disappointment. I have read the books about Rory and Chance and really enjoyed them. This story was so predictable that it felt like there was no story.
Too predictable, slow-moving, lost interest easily.
An OK read, but predictable and character’s background not well developed.
Easy reading but completely predictable
This book does have a story to it, but I feel, still needs more development. There were no surprises in this tale for me. It’s a okay book to kill time reading.
Meh
A little too graphically descriptive for me.
I usually love stories set in Marietta. I’ve loved the mail order bride stories, too. So, I was looking forward to this story. I really Liked the Watson Boys. I did not like Dr. Sinclair … not even to the end.
I had a lot of problems with this book. First of all, two doctors and they don’t practice safae sex. What’s that about? Secondly, although the hospital board may have wanted to hire a local physican, they would never say that. It’s probably job discrimination, which would make it illegal. In addition, the female character’s switch from a ruthless opportunistic manipulator to a loving wife is not believable. It has some sweet moments, but it needs work.
I had a hard time caring about or even liking Denver. This is the third book in this series I have read and she is definitely my least favorite character (male or female) in this series.
I read the books out of order. In some series, it doesn’t marry, but this one should be read in order.
Evan is the third Watson brother, the serious one, who went to medical school and has been working in the Emergency Room in Seattle. He has applied for the position of medical director in emergency, but is turned down as not having enough experience with the business end. This makes him start thinking that maybe he is not cut out for the business side, since that would take time away from his patients. His contract is up for renewal and when he hears from Chance that Rory is getting married, he decided to take vacation time to go home and think about whihc direction he wants to take his career. Meanwhile, Denver Sinclair, a fellow doctor, who he has been attracted to for 2 years, but she refused to date colleagues, also has her contract up for renewal. The difference is that she is the daughter of the head of the hospital board. She was already burned by one doctor who dated her only to get close to her father and threw her away once her father had found him a position in another hospital. She has her own 10 year plan and part of that is get away from her father. She has applied to a job in Marietta, which is where Evan is from, but the job offer has a stipulation that it be given to a local, but if she has a husband from Marietta … So she agrees to go out with Evan and when he invites her to go with him to the wedding, she jumps at the chance, hoping that with her skills and qualifications, they will wave the husband stipulation. So she uses him, just as she had been used, making me not like her very much. But there is a certain chemistry between them that she can’t understand and she is moved by the acceptance by Evan’s family. Will she marry Evan just to get a job? Will Evan find out he was used? Will they be able to find the love that Chance and Rory have? Will they be able to survive the manipulations by her father? The characters are appealing and eventually Denver becomes a more likable character. Not as much setting description as in previous books, but still an enjoyable read.
