She was always the one.Or so I thought.Turns out my instincts were dead wrong.Years ago I was faced with the choice between two women. Both were perfect in opposite ways. One was carefree and against commitment. The other was a woman you’d bring home to mom. I was young, naïve and stupid. I’m sure you can guess who I chose. Now, I’m older, wiser and know what the hell I want. So, when the same … the hell I want.
So, when the same two women pop back into my life it’s my chance for a do-over. But they flipped the script. Just like me, they want different things now. Leaving me with one choice—convince the woman I want that she wants me too.

The Do-Over by Piper Rayne put a twist on second chance romance. And it won me over completely. Lovable leads and a big group of awesome friends and families. All the emotions mixed with steam. And Piper Rayne’s sharp and brilliant writing. Recipe for amazing romance every single time.
Knox has own rules and codes about life. And as a cop, he follows them strictly. Leilani fully used his protective and caring side. And he was hurt. And she is back again. After many years. But this time Knox meets someone from his past. Kamea. He made a choice years back. Can he have a do over?
This story threw me off a bit. As I have read all the books in this series and the on-off relationship between Knox and Leilani was described in passing in all books. Kamea was a surprise and she is also the person who gives this story the extra drama and necessary edge. They are two very different girls. Leilani is impulsive, reckless, manipulative and self absorbed. But Kamea has goals in life. She has a soft and compassionate heart. I love her!Knox is a good man. The best kind. Loyal. Honest. Passionate. Caring. Leilani broke his heart but they obviously had a connection. Whereas Kamea fits him perfectly and they have a great soothing vibe and sensational chemistry. She has insecurity and doubts. And Knox needs to make it alright. I think you can guess what may happen but it will a complicated love story for sure! There is no cheating in this book.
Whenever I think about swoony, sexy and emotional romance, I think about Piper Rayne. Rooftop Crew series is another of their genius creation and The Do-Over proved that again.
I reviewed an early copy voluntarily
Enjoyable read.
I haven’t read all The Rooftop Crew, but this is my fave so far of the ones I’ve read. However, I do think you will get more out of the story if you’ve read from the beginning as the characters build upon each other and it’s obvious there is some back story to this one.
Knox, Kamea, and Leilani are the triangle. Knox went for one woman a long time ago. Is he going to get a do-over and if so, which one will it be with?
This one has enough layers to make it interesting and Knox has his work cut out for him with the sass of the woman he wants. Knox swore us to secrecy, so that’s all you’re getting from me.
And this leads into the next one quite well. Looking forward to Jax’s story.
I voluntarily requested and read an advance reader copy.
I’ve enjoyed the Rooftop Crew and this book about Knox is a great story, too. Knox is the cop in the crew. Everyone has been tiptoeing about his ex Leilani who keeps coming and going in his life. Each time she leaves him a little more broken. I wasn’t sure I wanted him to end up with Leilani and Piper Rayne didn’t disappoint with this way this story develops. This is a second chance story but not with the one you think. We have a new lady introduced and she is wonderful. She’s not a pushover like everyone thought she was but she brings out the protector in Knox. She fits with Knox better than Leilani. It turns out that Kamea and Knox met first and then Leilani came in and Knox was bowled over by her. Leilani and Kamea look similar and were friends but they are completely different in personalities. Will Knox take advantage of a Do-over and which one will he choose? Each hero in this series keeps getting better. Next up is Jax and I can’t wait to read his story but sad that his is the last one in the series. I received an ARC to read early but have my own copy ordered.
The Do-Over was another great read from Piper Rayne. It wasn’t what I was expecting from the ending of book 4 but soooooo much better.
As with all the books in this series, there was a great story line, lots of angst and chemistry, and characters that you want to become friends with. The book was well written and fun to read.
Can’t wait for Jax and Frankie’s story in book 6.
I see what you did there Piper & Rayne – well played, well played!
The Do-Over is Book 5 of The Rooftop Crew Series and is my favorite! This is sexy, police officer Knox’s story and I have been waiting for his book since the beginning.
Full disclosure, I was prepared to hate this book (in a good way) because the woman I thought Knox was going to end up with, was not one of my favorite people….but this is where Piper & Rayne throw down the mother of all plot twists!!!
I absolutely LOVED the turn this book took and wholeheartedly applaud the arrival of Kamea the absolute best thing to ever happen to Knox! The Do-Over is the mother of all second chance romances and was a sexy, slow burn, read that had me gobbling up all the words as ASAP as possible to get to the happily ever after that Knox deserved.
TBR this fantastic book and Enjoy!
Unexpected but delighted with the turn of events in this wonderful read. I loved every minute of it! Because, well #knoxistheman
I have been dying to get my hands on Knox’s story since the very beginning, he’s the one of the group of friends that is hardly around because of his job as a police officer but once in a while pops up with a girl which none of his friends like. The bomb that was dropped at the end of OUR STAR-CROSSED KISS had me wondering what on earth was going to happen with him because WOW.
Have you ever wished you could go back in time and change your decision on something? Well that is what we have here, Knox had a choice between two girls several years ago and now he sees that he didn’t make the right choice. So when the opportunity arises that he can possibly get a second chance on the one who he should have picked he’s going to take it.
Just as Piper and Rayne always do they give a story that is so full of dimension that it’s easy to get pulled in and get lost so I would advise you if you need to go anywhere, set an alarm.
THE ROOFTOP CREW SERIES follows a group of friends so I would suggest reading the series in the order they have been released, that being said you can definitely read this as a standalone if you wish to do so.
Happy Reading!!!
I’m so glad that we finally got Knox’s book! I’ve been dying to see how he’d find his HEA and with whom! From the first page to the last I was absolutely hooked and didn’t want to put it down. I love that we got to see Knox work soooo hard to show his woman that she was the one and he was worth the risk!
The Rooftop Crew has been one of my favorite series and Piper & Rayne keep amazing me with each book! 5 stars!!!
This is the 5th book in this amazing series, and it is great to catch up with much loved characters. Knox is a cop with a huge hearts, and he regrets some questionable decision he made previously, and when fate steps in he is determined to rectify past mistakes, and convince the woman he loves to take a chance on him, with a little help from some friends. This is a beautifully written story which has angst, drama, twists, emotions, which all lead to a fun, humorous and all-round entertaining read. I was hooked throughout and cannot wait to read more in this brilliant series, and I highly recommend this talented duo of authors’ work for all.
5 Rooftop stars for this swoony, warm-hearted story.
The DO-OVER by Piper Rayne is the fifth book in the Rooftop Crew series. This is Knox’s story and his love interest isn’t who we have all been reading about throughout the previous 4 books.
He’s always been the one with the over-the-top lovelife but now he’s single and when he bumps into Kamea again, he’s reminded of how they first met.
Piper and Rayne always manage to create the best characters with hot as hell males and snarky, sassy females to keep them on their toes.
I loved the friendship this tight-knit group has formed, and their willingness to add another to it when they ‘know’ they are the right fit.
Knox is a cop with a heart of gold, one who can’t stand to see others suffer.
Kamea has been left out on the street thanks to her friend, (Knox’s ex-girlfriend). She has no place to go when he offers her a room in his apartment.
Has Fate lent a helping hand, or muddied the waters?
Knox knows he’s regretting picking the wrong girl years ago, but he also can’t allow his feelings to win when Kamae is under his roof.
What will they do? Will Kamea walk away or fight for what she wants this time?
Be ready for a bumpy, angsty ride with plenty of banter and some steamy moments. As always, a great read from the fantastic duo. A perfect book to start the holiday season.
I received a free ARC copy of this book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is book 5 in the series and each book stands alone but the stories are connected and each book is a different couple. Its about a set of friends who all live in NY and are good friends and live in the same apartment building, they find love amongst their friends, coworkers and people they meet.
This is Knox’s book. Knox is a police officer and is close with his family but he grew up in a rough part of town. Knox has a great life and is up for a promotion at work, has wonderful friends, loves his apartment and life. Though love has been something he has found challenging and has also affected his relationship at work.
In previous books in this series we have seen Knox and his on again and off again romance with Leilani who drops into town and they spend time together and then she hurts him when she takes off. In this story Leilani is back and she brings another character into Knox’s life. And we get to explore the night he met L and the woman he might have missed out on.
Love is never easy and sometimes we make bad choices but I love how the authors seemed to explore a second chance for Knox and the woman who opened his heart.
This is a second chance at love story with a bit of fate thrown in. Its about love, loyalty and friendship and being there for your friends and family and realizing who is good for you and who is toxic and seeing them as they are. Its about moving on from relationships that don’t work and finding a love that is mature and deep and emotional. And its about realizing when you have made an error and learning from the bad decisions we make and growing up and finding out what you want for your future.
I loved how Knox really grew up in this story and changed his life for the better. I loved his parents they were so awesome in this story and I loved how we learn more about Jax and Knox’s background.
I highly recommend this story and I adored the female lead in this story. Knox is pretty wonderful and I loved how he opened his heart and home and offered friendship as he got his second chance at love while working hard to make that happen.
I‘ve been patiently waiting for Knox‘s story. He intrigued me from the very first book. Not only is he a hot cop, he‘s also a very big and vital part of our rooftop crew.
He‘s had his ups and downs with his on and off girlfriend Leilani and I seriously thought he would end up with her for good! But no Piper Rayne had someone different up there sleeve for us and I‘m soo happy how his story turned out!
Knox‘s heroine is very different from Leilani which makes her sooo special. I loved her from the start. She looks like a good girl but she‘s alot more than what you see. She‘s just perfect for Knox and fits right into the crew.
Now I can‘t wait to read Jax‘s story but I‘m also sad that this series will end soon.
4.5
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and my god did I fall head over heels in love with Knox. Knox was a character that was very quiet and mysterious, especially in the way he conducted himself in the previous books. I wasn’t sure what we would get from this man. But everything I thought this book would be, was on point and a complete joy to read.
Now there were 2 love interests in this book, well I say 2 but it’s complicated. Now don’t go thinking it’s cheating because it isn’t. I just can’t explain without ruining the story. Kamea is the main focus of this story but Leilani well is just Leilani. This story is fun, flirty, and life-changing. The characters all of them are brilliant, with the whole crew bringing something to the table. But Knox stole the show completely for me.
I totally recommend this book and series, to be honest, it just keeps building and the stories just get better and better. This story, in my opinion, has to read as part of the series to get the full experience. It’s great and leaves you with a smile.
Reviewer: Donna
Knox’s leading lady was a wonderful surprise. But the poor guy had more lady drama in his life than any of his friends. Patrice almost stole the show in this book though. I loved her. She was the perfect work wife for Knox.
I refuse to give up his leading ladies name but she was the perfect fit for not only Knox but the entire gang too. Dylan surprised me in this book though.
I really enjoyed Knox’s story & getting to see the entire gang again. I loved Jax’s relationship with both Knox & his leading lady. It was good to see more of him in this book especially since his book is next!
I received an arc of this book in return for an honest review.
O.M.G!!!! Knox’s story is everything. SWOON!!!! I love me some Knox. He’s girl is super special and their story is explosive. I can’t wait to read Jax’s story.
Ooooh boy, this one was a doozy! From start to finish, Knox’s story was ah-may-zing. The Do-Over is all about how one decision, one choice, can change the trajectory of your life. When faced with the chance to do it all over again, would you make the same choices? This love triangle between Knox, Leilani and Kamea was a brilliant, unexpected twist on the second-chance romance trope.
I loved getting to know Knox and finding out what makes the Rooftop Crew police officer tick. We have seen him and Leilani in some of the previous books, and saw glimpses of how dysfunctional their relationship is. So I was excited to really get into the nitty gritty of it, and Piper Rayne did not disappoint with The Do-Over! When push comes to shove, will Knox be able to convince the woman he loves that he’s making the right choice?
And that ending! OMG! I need Jax and Frankie’s story ASAP! I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.
Another series that is a must read for me. From the beginning of the series, this crew pulled me in and let me get lost in each of their stories, Knox’s story is no different. The strong, silent one of the group finally gets his shot. When I heard the title and started reading, I have to say, I didn’t like his ex, so I wasn’t sure how the author was going to pull this off for me. I should have known, I should have trusted the process, because once I actually started reading, I couldn’t put this story down.
The friends that are more like family definitely rally around Knox when his opportunity comes knocking. It’s a slow burn kind of second chance story, Knox has to work for it, rightfully so, and though he’s genuinely a good guy, let’s just say it’s a good thing he has people around him to help him out. I love how they all have each other’s backs, no matter what. I also like that they’re open to expanding their circle… for the right folks.
I was really looking forward to reading this story especially after the ending of Our Star Crossed Kiss. And it did not disappoint! There were plenty of fun, laugh out loud moments, although having said that there were some angsty and emotional parts as well.
This book was such a surprise for me. I loved that there was a twist of sorts throughout this story as I tried to figure out exactly how things would pan out. It’s a kind of spin on a second chance romance that I have never read before. That said, I thoroughly enjoyed this one and loved how Piper Rayne took this story to another level. The Do-Over is a wonderful addition to The Rooftop Crew series, each book has been a joy to read and I highly recommend them all.
Fantastic! I loved Knox and his leading lady! I was really looking forward to reading this story especially after the ending of Our Star Crossed Kiss!
Be prepared you will not want to put their story down! I don’t want to give to much away, there are definitely a few surprises in store for Knox and ……….
I loved seeing Knox the cop and I loved Patrice, is work colleague! She was so funny! She knew before he did that ……. was the one for him! I loved seeing more of Knox’s family too and his mum was do funny!
As always the rest of the Crew are never far away! Loved seeing Dylan all protective of his “brother”!
I loved this second chance romance with a twist!
Bring on Jax, Frankie’s and Jolie’s story now!
What can I say, I love the Rooftop Crew characters and stories so this was a quick all-consuming read for me. This was the perfect way to spend my day with characters that feel like friends.
After all Knox has gone through with Lelani over the course of the other Rooftop Crew books, I am so damn happy that he gets a “do-over” and it is with someone like Kamea. Kamea is so different and that is why it works between them. Kamea’s sweet and gentle nature not only intrigues Knox but she blends in with the Crew as well.
Of course, Piper and Rayne have to amp up the tension and angst, but they make up for it with a swoon worthy ending. They also left us with some breadcrumbs for the next book, and I for one cannot wait.
Well this dynamic writing duo of Piper Rayne “Knox-ed” this story out of the park! (Sorry that pun just wrote itself!)
Just when you think “oh sure, I know exactly where Piper Rayne is going with this story” they smack you upside the head and say hold on!
This story is just what the title describes, it’s a do-over! And I am not going to go into specifics and ruin the story for you but I will say, I was totally hooked from the first paragraph and I was sad to see this story end.
I loved the evolution of Knox, he wants to believe he knows what love is, but he is so off course it’s sad. The heroine in this story, I so empathized with her plight and the insecurities she faced.
You get to see the whole rooftop crew and you see them all come together to make Knox’s gal feel welcome and to help Knox navigate through his indecisions and give him the wake up call that he needs!
Like I have said before, I get such a “Friends” vibe from this series, and I absolutely love it! Way to go ladies!! Well done!
