She was always the one.Or so I thought.Turns out my instincts were dead wrong.Years ago I was faced with the choice between two women. Both were perfect in opposite ways. One was carefree and against commitment. The other was a woman you’d bring home to mom. I was young, naïve and stupid. I’m sure you can guess who I chose. Now, I’m older, wiser and know what the hell I want. So, when the same … the hell I want.
So, when the same two women pop back into my life it’s my chance for a do-over. But they flipped the script. Just like me, they want different things now. Leaving me with one choice—convince the woman I want that she wants me too.

The Do-Over by Piper Rayne
“Twist I didn’t see coming, 5 stars”
So if you’ve been following this series, you’ve heard all about Knox being hung up on his ex. Well, she’s back, but Piper and Rayne don’t give us the story we all assumed we would get. In fact, the Do-Over is completely different from I thought it would be. With that said, I loved it and I genuinely think you will too. I don’t want to say too much and give it away so all I will say is read it. I think you will love this couple and this group of friends as much as I do.

With a title like The Do-Over I was already wondering how this one would flow. Not sure why I worried, especially since this is a story by Piper Rayne! I know to expect twists and turns, plenty of angst and lots of the hotness these ladies can put on a page. And boy did they not disappoint.
I could give a little about Knox and a little about Kamea but this is a story about second chances. As such, our heroes are thrown into problems from the first pages of this story. Wishing for a Do-Over can be challenging, and getting someone to agree to it may be an adventure all in itself. Yes, there lies the beauty of this book. In a change from so many other books I have read, this one was refreshing in the aspect of finding and recognizing love, realizing when you’re wrong and putting the effort forward to correct that wrong. Not to mention there is the hope that your efforts will be recognized and appreciated. But what good is the chase without the gratification of the reward?
The Do-Over is book 5 in The Rooftop Series and with each story, the amazing writing of Piper & Rayne shines more. Great job ladies. This story builds on the next one and I, like so many others, cannot wait to continue this saga.
Well it feels like it’s taken a while to get to Knox’s story, and yet I don’t really know him that well. I know the surface stuff, but he hasn’t been as involved in all the other couples as other characters, like Jax, have been. And then we kind of got teased with she who shan’t be named, and now we’re here.
And I have to be honest, I read that blurb and then I started this book and the further in I got the more I wasn’t sure what was going to happen. I know Knox was saying what he was feeling but he had been so twisted up in Leilani I was scared how things were going to pan out.
Especially because I really loved Kamea. She was such a sweetheart and was going through such a nightmare of a time. Then to watch her fears over everything that was happening, I felt them right along with her. I am so glad that she was so mature and reasonable because I was not feeling so level header as my stomach was twisted up in knots.
I really liked that we got so much of the rooftop crew without them being too interfering. And I think I fell a little more in love with Jax throughout this book. I really can’t wait to see his story next.
Y’all it’s finally happened we got Knox’s story, and oh my gosh is it good! Piper Rayne never ceases to amaze me with their books, and this was no different. I am sure like many others I thought for sure Leilani was the one for Knox but nah wouldn’t be in Piper Rayne fashion. This was another amazing second chance romance, and it’s a must read. If you have not read this series, start with book one in The Rooftop Crew series, and add this to your TBR GoodReads. Also if you have questions for Piper Rayne send them my way, they will be joining the Bookshelf Boyfriends Podcast. We need all the tea!
This story went so much differently then what I expected. It had a spin I didn’t see coming. But I loved it.
I was very surprised by the girl Knox ended up with. She was so perfect for him though. I think Piper Rayne got it exactly right in their choice.
I don’t want to say to much because I want everyone to experience the surprise and enjoyment that I did. Even when I knew the who though, it was such a great ride to get to the how. Because it was not an easy or uncomplicated journey.
Which I guess was the point. I’m not sure how the story would have worked had it been what I think everyone was expecting.
But overall this book was so fantastic and the writing was perfection. I breezed though the story in a few hours because I didn’t want it to stop. This is a five star, two thumbs up kind of read.
Piper Rayne sure do love their series and I’ve rather enjoyed keeping up with The Rooftop Crew. They do a great job teasing the characters to come right from the beginning and it always leaves you hungry for more.
I’ve been waiting for Knox’s story in The Do-Over and they took it in a different direction than I thought they would. And by the end, I was pretty happy with the outcome.
Being Hawaiian, it was nice to see a Polynesian character as the main character, I don’t see it too often (not that I’m always looking). They didn’t dive deep into her Polynesian side, which I was OK with. The one gripe I had was the constant mentioning that she is Polynesian.
It’s pretty tough to write this review because I feel like anything I’d say would be a spoiler. Knox, I was a bit uncertain when it came to his feelings about Leilani, but it didn’t help that everyone constantly reminded him of what it was like when he was with her. She definitely overpowered the story more than I hoped she would.
Overall, soooo happy that we got to know Knox more and he got his happily ever after. Truly an enjoyable story.
Knox is a cop and follows his rules in life. He had a choice between two women a long time ago and he made the wrong one. Leilani is impulsive, reckless, and selfish. Kamea knows exactly what she wants in life. Knox chose Leilani and was hurt by her. Kamea comes back into his life, making him want a second chance. Oh the drama and agony! A really good read with plenty of twists.
This was another book in the Rooftop Series and did not disappoint. This was for us to see more of Knox and I loved every minute. Knox has had a whirlwind relationship with Leilani for years. She came into his life like a tornado and has upheaved him on a regular basis. After having his heart broken for the last time, he starts to get over her and moves on with his life. The same night years ago when he met Leilani, he also met Kamea. Kamea was “the girl next door”. The kind of girl you take home to Mom. The girl you marry and have babies with. At the time, however, Knox was not ready to settle down and he chose to go home with Leilani. A decision he has lived to regret.
Wouldn’t you know that BOTH of these women come back into his life. Although for different reasons, Knox is having a hard time dealing with them. Feelings come roaring back as well as attractions. Who will Knox pick? Will he make the right choice this time? I don’t want to give too much away because its definitely worth a read. This installment had a little bit of everything and it was a lot of fun to see characters from past books!
read an arc for this book. I loved Knox and his woman. They were such a great couple. I wasn’t really expecting to like Knox since he doesn’t really hang with the others much. But I totally fell in love with him. He was so sweet and I loved his personality. His woman was just who he needed. She is such a strong character, but with a good girl innocence. Can’t wait for Jax and Frankie!
This is the fifth book in the Rooftop Crew series. It can be read as a stand alone, but I highly recommend that you do read them in order. You will see how the relationship between Knox and Leilani. You will see how toxic it was towards Knox.
I am so glad that this story didn’t work out the way I thought it was going, before I received the book.
I’m so happy Knox got the girl he was always suppose to have. I don’t want to say much more and give anything away, so this review will be short, sorry.
But this is a must read!
So far it’s my favorite Rooftop read.
That may change after we get Jax and Frankie’s book. Jolie’s letter to Santa!!!
I loved the Do-Over. It’s a great story about second chances.
We got some Knox throughout the series so far, however he was still a bit of a mystery. The ending of the last book in the series really set this book up. It was shocking, unexpected and such a twist.
Knox is faced with two women from his past. Both completely different but one is obviously better for him. I just hoped Knox knew the same. These rooftop characters are so addicting. I’d love to be in their circle.
The entire book gave us a build up to the next one, Jax and Frankie. I can’t wait!!
Piper Rayne is one of my favorite author duos and this one did not disappoint! Knox and Kamea were great. I liked Knox more than I thought I would and I loved Kamea. Overall I really enjoyed this book. My only complaint is about when the conflict happened. I enjoyed this book and CANNOT WAIT for the next!
The story you’ve been waiting for! The Do-Over is an amazing second chance romance. In true Piper Rayne fashion, they also draw you in to the next book in the series and have you counting down the days! I’ve been waiting for Knox’s story all through the series, but especially since Our Star-Crossed Kiss! It was SO worth the wait.
Just when I thought I knew what was coming for Knox’s book, I was thrown for a loop and I loved every second of it!
We have been teased through the first four books in this series about who Knox would be paired with and how his story would go. I loved how his story played out. The plot fits both main characters perfectly. Everyone needs to go in without spoilers and experience the story with nothing more than the blurb.
As with the previous books, seeing the rest of the Rooftop Crew is one of my favorite parts of this series. They are involved in their friends’ lives and only want whats best for them. They are much more of a family than just a friend group.
Grateful to have received a complimentary ARC copy to honestly review.
Years ago, Knox made a choice. That choice has dogged him for years. But an epiphany will have him seeing things in a whole new light, and a woman will become his focus. Is she a second chance? Or is she the victim of the choice he made before?
I absolutely LOVE Knox and the woman he was always meant to be with, the one he was destined to love. The twist took me by surprise in the best way, and made this story that much better. Their love story is emotionally satisfying, sexy, and twisty and definitely my favorite of this already great series.
I cried reading this burb, I thought it was the most beautiful ever.
I cried reading this book…
I won’t spoil much because this book deserves to be read with justice to the characters.
Knox is a beautiful character, he is strong but romantic, demanding but fair and above all he can love…
Once he was young and wanted things fast and furious, now he is more mature and knows that patience is everthing. His heroine still needs some time to find herself and to forgive who she once was.
The story is great, the characters are super romantic, and they are sensitive, sexy and real.
4.5 Stars
We are back with the Rooftop Crew! I’ve been intrigued by Knox’s story and it didn’t disappoint. His ex is a price or work that’s for sure. I think that the title of this book fits it perfectly. He gets a do over and hopefully he doesn’t blow his second chance. His love interest is perfect. She has such a kind heart and fits in with the crew perfectly. I gobbled this book right up and couldn’t put it down. That is what usually happens with a book from this series. I loved the build up for the next book and the one I’ve been eagerly waiting for! If you haven’t read this series yet you are missing out on some awesome stories!
WOOHOOOO book five and you DO need to read the previous stories before this. I’m not gonna say much but what I will say is that I was super nervous going into this story. Given what had happened at the end of the last story, we knew things were gonna be interesting. I doubted this fabulous duo; I was worried about what they were going to put me through, never mind Knox, BUT in true Piper Rayne fashion, ‘The Do-Over’ gives us something that was freaking amazing. Full of drama, naughty bits, and full of laughs. I give this 5 stars.
This book was perfect to me and I am hooked on Knox!! He has such a caring nature which is why his ex keeps wreaking havoc on his life but this time she brought the one person who he’s thought about what if I picked her and that curveball of can I have a do over is the driving force behind him now.
3.5*
The Do-Over was an engaging addition to The Rooftop Crew series. Knox was a bit of enigma throughout the books leading up to this one- he wasn’t around as much so we didn’t really have the chance to get to know him, like we had with all the rest of the characters. Turns out he’s a real sweetheart.
I have to admit, I was a little worried going into The Do-Over, as I’m not a fan of love triangles. But this story isn’t quite what you’d expect. I wouldn’t classify it as a second chance romance, the title of this book is actually perfect. After some back and forth and ups and downs, Knox truly does get a do-over, a chance to make things right the second time around. There were a few points when things got a little frustrating for me, especially when the past kept being brought up, even if the intentions were good. I needed Knox to make a stand, but I appreciated the journey it took to get there.
I loved that the friendships in these books are so integral. In this one it was especially apparent, with the way Dylan reacted to things. I’m glad we got a scene with him, to understand where he was coming.
Although I didn’t love the romance in this one as much as some of the others, it was still an entertaining read. And I am glad Knox got his do-over, he deserved it!
Now bring on Jax’s story!
