She was always the one.Or so I thought.Turns out my instincts were dead wrong.Years ago I was faced with the choice between two women. Both were perfect in opposite ways. One was carefree and against commitment. The other was a woman you’d bring home to mom. I was young, naïve and stupid. I’m sure you can guess who I chose. Now, I’m older, wiser and know what the hell I want. So, when the same … the hell I want.
So, when the same two women pop back into my life it’s my chance for a do-over. But they flipped the script. Just like me, they want different things now. Leaving me with one choice—convince the woman I want that she wants me too.

My favorite in the Rooftop Series!
Read: 3/16/21
The Do-Over was the fifth book in the Rooftop Crew series by the authors Piper Rayne. The series was best read in order as the characters continue to develop within each book.
In the Do-Over we finally get Knox’s story. He was one of the threesome of Dylan (Rival Roomies, book three), Knox and Jax; who all grew up together in foster homes and had each other’s backs even now as adults. Knox was the cop, which was a surprise from his childhood, but fit him well.
I can’t elaborate within the review without spoilers, so all I can say is that I’m thankful the authors didn’t take us down the traditional second chance path. If they had, my review would be much different. What I will say is that we learned in previous books that Lelani was Knox’s one love but she was a free spirit and kept coming in and out of his life. Within the last few books of the series, she was present and then she wasn’t but then a cliff hanger at the previous book brought her back into Knox’s life again. So the story begins again.
No spoilers so no elaboration but stay with it. You might be surprised at the turn of events. And now another one we’ve all been waiting for, Jax is up next in A Co-Worker’s Crush!
Oh I got my hands on the Sexy Knox!! And let me tell you he can use those handcuffs on me anyway of the week….please!!! I am so happy he finally found someone deserving of him. And that Lelani got what was coming to her. I loved getting to know what actually made her tick. And getting to know Kamea. And what happened in their past. I wish Knox didn’t have to have such a hard road to get his HEA but I think sometimes we need to travel the road we choose the first time to appreciate what we have when we get it. I highly recommend this series and all of PR’S books!! Next is Jax!!!! And I can’t wait!!!!

It was an easy book to get involved in and had a happy ending.
This is the fifth book in this series and starts where Our Star Crossed Kiss left off. It is a stand alone though so if you start with this book you will not be lost. This book is another beautiful story full of friendship, drama, silliness, misunderstandings, character growth, and true love. Knox first met Kamea and Leilani on the same night years ago. He chose to go home with Leilani because Kamea was a girl you marry and Leilani was a just for a night fun girl. Years go by with Leilani going in and out of his life like a tornado and Knox is ready for the forever girl instead of the just for the night girl. That’s went Kamea comes back into his life and Knox gets a chance for a do over. On the way to their HEA, Knox and Kamea each have to deal with the wreckage from their individual pasts including the damage Leilani has done to each of them and this is where the book gives you all the feels. With The Do Over, Piper Rayne again proves she’s a fantastic romance author.
Recommending the book if you are following the series. Not a great build up like the other characters. Book boarded on boring, unfortunately.
I absolutely loved The Do-Over. From beginning to end, I was engaged in Knox’s story. I wasn’t sure how much I would like Knox’s turn since we didn’t really get a lot of him in the previous 4 books. I should never have doubted Piper Rayne’s ability to make Knox one of my favorites.
The Do-Over had everything I needed in a contemporary romance. Knox is a wonderful character. He’s kind and caring. He would do anything for any of his friends. The reappearance of his ex-girlfriend isn’t the only surprise Knox faces. He comes face-to-face with someone he met prior to meeting his ex. Now, Knox has to figure out who he wants The Do-Over with and convince her she want’s him, too.
Everything about The Do-Over worked for me. The characters are awesome and include everyone from the previous books. While you could consider this a stand alone, I highly recommend reading the series in order so you have context. The character development is great and the authors continue to introduce a new characters. The level of emotions in this book run high, are expertly written, and make the reader feel exactly what the characters are feeling.
The Rooftop Crew series is phenomenal and highly recommended. The Do-Over is exceptional and I loved the book. I’m glad I will be able to read the story again anytime I want.
I was provided a copy of this book to read.
Piper Rayne has done it again!! Love this series!!
This was a great addition to The Rooftop Crew! I was so happy that Knox has finally let Lelani go, after all the nasty stuff that she put him through. Love seeing all the of the Crew showing up to lend themselves to this rockin book!
Knox . . . and Kamea? Ohhhh Piper Rayne . . . you made us think Leilani was it for Knox, so this was a pretty epic twist!
Kamea was the girl you take home to meet your mom. Which is why Knox took Leilani home instead. But after years of misery, Knox is ready to move on when fate brings him face to face with Kamea again. Can they have a shot or will Leilani forever be between them?
Knox is not as tough as he would like others to think. He definitely had his heart torn out and stomped on by Leilani but couldn’t quit her until now no matter what she kept putting him through. But can Kamea trust it? She has always felt second best to Leilani.
I loved Kamea and how genuine and sweet she is and how quickly she fit into Knox’s life and group of friends. And Knox is a true protector and fixer. It was hard for him to realize that some things and some people don’t want to be fixed. And now he has to really prove who his first choice is and should always have been when it comes to Kamea and Leilani.
The Do-Over was a twist from the start and I loved every page! 5 stars
The Do Over is book 5 is The Rooftop Crew series. Each book in the series can be read as a standalone. I love The Rooftop Crew and would recommend reading all the books in the series if you have time. This one is Knox’s story. Knox is a nice guy. He’s been through a lot with his ex. His ex breezes in and out of his life and causes problems. In this one, he finally gets a chance at a do-over with the girl he should have picked right from the beginning. I liked this story.

Soooo so good! Having read all of Piper Rayne’s Roommates series, I have been waiting with anticipation for Knox’s book and they did not disappoint! This might be my favorite of the series! (You don’t need to read the series in order to enjoy this story but you’ll want to!)
Knox Whelan has been run over by love and the ex that burned him is back making trouble again. But this time, with all her drama, she reintroduces him to a fascinating girl he could never forget. He knows now he made the wrong choice all those years ago by choosing fast and easy when what he wanted was loyal and sweet. Now the question is, will she give him a chance to prove it should’ve been her all along.

After seeing bits and pieces of Knox throughout this series I was completely intrigued about him and his relationship with his ex, he has remained quite mysterious throughout and I absolutely loved his story.
Even though there are 2 love interests for Knox in this book there is NO cheating but as much as i want to rave about how good this storyline is I don’t want to give away the story and spoil your enjoyment.
In true Piper Rayne fashion they have delivered their trademark fun and flirty storyline and as always it was great seeing the previous faces again but I cannot tell you enough how excited I am for Jax and Frankie’s story that is coming up.
If you are looking for a gripping series with interconnected characters that you will come to love then this one is for you!!
Why is it always the strong, silent, and mysterious man that steals your heart? You need to meet Officer Knox and bring your handcuffs!
I went into this book thinking I knew what was going to happen and I was surprised that I was wrong. I loved this little twist that Piper Rayne’s put on us. This Rooftop Crew always seems to make me laugh and have a fun time reading their stories. I can’t wait to fall in love with Jax!
Knox Whelan is a police officer and has shocked everyone when he arrests his ex-girlfriend, Leilani, after she is involved in an assault. He is subjected to ridicule by other police officers but it also puts him face to face with the girl who got away.
Kamea was once best friends with Leilani and when Leilani needs bail money she gives her everything she has to get her out of jail. Yet meeting up with Leilani also costs her everything.
When Kamea finds herself in a very bad situation it is Knox who comes to rescue but Kamea is hesitant to get involved with Leilani’s ex knowing he may not be over her.
Can Knox get the do-over he has wanted for all these years and finally get the right girl?
I have been eagerly waiting for this book and I must admit that it went a totally different way than I was initially expecting!!
I love Knox and have been waiting for his book for a long time!! I loved that he had goals of being a detective but his past relationship was seriously bringing him down and he knew he needed to find the right type of girl this time and that he was really ready for it.
Kamea is such a sweet girl but she was super hung up on being less than Leilani and had so many insecurities. I felt that frustrated me a little bit as she didn’t seem to feel like she had any self-worth or value no matter how many people told her she was wonderful.
There were quite a few twists that all seemed to involve Leilani which really put a damper on the relationship and made people question what was really going on from all sorts of perspectives. I was disappointed in Kamea for believing Leilani so easily after everything she had done in the past.
The end was good and made me happy!
Super excited for the next book between Jax and Frankie!!!
I was so excited to get my hands on The Do Over and finally read Knox’s story. Knox was pretty mysterious in the previous books in The Rooftop Crew. This book did not let me down. It was pleasantly surprised by this second chance romance and don’t want to spoil the twist. The Do Over is full of heartwarming moments, laughter, and a little drama and angst that I’ve come to expect and love from this incredible duo. I cannot wait for Jax’s story next.
Well hot diggity, this story threw me for a loop. Totally not what I was expecting or what Piper Rayne lead us to expect. But I’m here for this change up! The story played out exactly as I would have preferred, Knox got his girl, his perfect match.
For me, this series has been great, some stories better than others and Knox is up there with the best. The chemistry is on point, the characters are super lovable. I love seeing the whole gang together and their dynamics are so relatable. A great read and I’m looking forward to the next.
I loved Kamea! She’s hard working, kind, loving and goal oriented. The ‘love’ triangle aspect gave the story a bit of intrigue. Knox deserves a caring loving partner.
I’m never disappointed with a Piper Rayne book. Knox the quiet guy of our group has always intrigued me. His story was exactly what I needed. I love seeing the friendship of this group. If anyone deserves a Do-Over it’s Knox. His story will have you rooting for him and his lady to get past their obstacles to their HEA. I loved every minute of this book!
The Do-Over is the fifth title in the Rooftop Crew series. This title is full of heat, heart, humor, fun and angst.
Knox is a loyal friend, sweet, sexy, police office with a big heart. He’s protective, driven and determined.
The heroine is compassionate, loyal, honest, hardworking and driven, but also relatable. Like many females she suffers from her fair share of insecurities.
Knox’s story has quite a few twists and turns and the witty banter keeps you completely engaging in this entertaining title.
I recommend this title if you enjoy a book with a strong theme of friendship, and I look forward to the next title featuring Jax and Frankie.
3/5 stars
For me, Piper Rayne is a top favourite author. Every single book they write I read. No matter the synopsis. I love their writing that much. The Do-Over has all the elements I love about their writing. Quirky characters, amazing friendships, romance and comedy.
I have been excited to read Knox’s story since his character was first introduced in the beginning of the series. Knox has a huge heart. He will give you the shirt off his back. He is a police officer and has worked hard to get where he is since growing up in a much less favourable area. He comes from a good home, a mom and a dad that have always worked hard and have always been supportive and loving. In fact my favourite character in this whole story is Knox’s mom. She has a heart of gold and I just adored the friendship she forms with Kamea and she gave her the best advice.
Kamea is a lovely girl. She is loyal, honest and hard working. She grew up with Leilani and they have been on and off again friends. Leilani is also Knox’s ex-girlfriend and she broke his heart.
I wanted to love this one so much more than I did but sadly it missed the mark for me. Where I struggled with this one was the connection between Knox and Kamea, or lack there of. There were so many things getting in the way. Her insecurities, his inability to communicate, the ex girlfriend Leilani was brought up way too much and it really took away from me falling for this couple the way I wanted to.
Having said all this I am SO excited to get Jax and Frankie’s story next! I think they are my most anticipated couple in this whole series. I am so intrigued by their dynamic and her daughter Jolie after finishing the Do-Over. So, while this wasn’t my favourite I still recommend it for fans of this series and rom-com lovers.
