Miss Emma Bavidge can barely make her way through society without someone whispering about her. Her father’s disgrace has ruined her reputation and left her struggling in society. Her one hope is Lady Emily Smithton, who leads ‘The Spinsters Guild’ and has promised to help. When questioned, however, Emma cannot pretend that she is immune to the charms of one gentleman in particular – Viscount … particular – Viscount Morton.
Viscount Nathaniel Morton cannot help but feel sorry for Miss Bavidge. Knowing her father as well as he does, he is well aware that her reputation bears no stain other than that of her father’s disgrace. He wishes to help her in some way, wanting to encourage her back into society’s good graces, but does not quite know how to go about it.
One thing is for certain – he cannot allow her to know the truth about the part he played in bringing about her father’s fall from grace, not even if he begins to find his heart yearning for no one but her!
Can Emma and Nathaniel find love and happiness despite the secrets between them?
This book is the second book of a series called The Spinsters Guild, a group of unusual ladies who are almost “on the shelf”. Can Lady Emily help them find their perfect match?

This is another masterpiece of Rose Pearson. I find the story very heartwarming. I feel sad for Emma and I got angry at Viscount Hawkridge. This book made me emotional. It really feels good to read a feel good book such as this.
This book is a standalone with a HEA. The characters mesh well with each other. I love this author and can’t wait to read what she comes out with next

This was such a wonderful addition to the series. Emma and Nathaniel’s story was heartrending at times. I wanted to punch Lord Rochester in the face. His attitude was horrendous. It was good to read more about Emily and Lord Havisham. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

I enjoyed the characters in this book. There are a few, both men and women, who have found their voice. Finding the power within themselves to fight for what they want as well as for helping others. This was a unique story line. Together with the wonderful characters made for a good book.
The Disgraced Bride by Rose Pearson.
Lady Emily Smithton and Viscount Nathaniel Morton are the main characters. Emily is having another season after her father was disgraced the year before. She is part of the Spinsters Guild because she really doesn’t think she will find a husband. Nathaniel feels bad because he had a part in her fathers disgrace. He spends time with her hoping to help her be accepted by society again. and they fall in love. They have to overcome her finding out that he kept things from her. I really enjoyed this book. It was very well written. I was given an arc for an honest review.

I really enjoyed reading the story of Emma and Lord Morton. Having met Emma briefly in the Widow Wore Scarlet, it was fascinating hearing the story of her fathers disgrace and subsequent consequence for Emma and her prospects. Lord Morton who had been involved in her fathers exposure has secretly been watching Emma, concerned about the way the Ton were treating her on her coming out year. The Spinsters Club is an interesting series and I look forward to the future stories about Lady Smithson helping these unique women.

Oh my goodness…. now that I have finished the book I have a headache. The tension of the last half of the book grew and grew to such proportions that when it finally blew up, I ended up with the release of a headache. I love this series “The Spinsters Guild”. This is the second book and it is as fabulous as the first book “A New Beginning”. Rose Pearson really knows how to get to the heart of the matter. Her wonderful characters are flawlessly realistic and that goes for the antagonist too. He was such a two-faced vile person set on revenge for being called out for his inappropriate behavior that caused a young lady’s future to be blackened by disgrace. The hero’s original intent was to keep the incident as quiet as possible but the antagonist was a trusted friend of the hero and the hero confided in him. Only to have the antagonist break his word to his supposed friend and then bandied the incident all over London. The hero cut off the friendship never realizing what a phony person he was. Then everything backlashed onto the hero when faced with the heroine’s confrontation for seeking the truth. After everything the H/h went through getting to know each other and falling in love. Because the hero’s delay in speaking the truth he was spurned by the heroine because her thoughts by then were poisoned by the antagonist. What a mess. Luckily, they were surrounded by caring and trusting friends and all was resolved by the end. Thank goodness! I don’t think I could have taken any more drama. An excellent story that I highly recommend. I look forward to book three of the series.
The second book in The Spinsters Guild series a well written story that held my interest throughout. Miss Emma Bavidge’s Father caused a scandal that pulled her and her reputation into it, causing quite a few tongues to wag. She turns to Lady Emily Smithton, who leads The Spinsters Guild to help her. Viscount Nathaniel Morton has a secret that he does not want to tell Emma as it might break them apart when they are just getting to know each other. But Lord Rochester wants to cause trouble and he knows what Nathaniel hides. I enjoyed reading this book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
ONE ENCHANTING DELIGHT!!!
Not on my watch! I have got to say Rose can spin the regency era so realistically you find yourself totally immersed, breathless and craving more. A churning vortex of vexing circumstances and staggering events that propels your emotions into play with every color on the spectrum. One incredible pulse racing, heart pounding, page flipping delight that thrust this bad boy bursting to life flawlessly. The characters are authentic, relatable and realistic with such depth and individuality it adds a little spice to the mix to keep it interesting. The scenes are so graphically detailed and descriptive you have no trouble picturing each scenario as they play off one another in perfect balance. Rose did a phenomenal job bringing this read together flawlessly. Awesome job Rose, thanks for sharing this little gem with us.
This touching Regency romance brought me an afternoon of reading pleasure with complex characters and a great story that kept me totally involved in all that was happening from beginning to end. I loved the dynamic and undeniable chemistry between Miss Emma Bavidge whose father’s disgrace has ruined her reputation and Viscount Nathaniel Morton who feels responsible for her struggle in society. This is the second book in the Spinster Guild series and I look forward to see what happens next with Lady Emily Smithton and the ladies she agrees to help. I received an advance reader copy of this book from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
This is a clean, sweet read that deals with second chances and dealing with the actions of others. I recommend this read. I could not put it down once I started reading it. It has believable characters and the plot was great also. Keep the stories coming Rose.

I really wanted to reach into this book a few times and sit the lead characters down to get things straight. The further you go in the book, the higher the emotions, and there is one character dead set on keeping the two apart and willing to go to any shocking, malicious lengths to do it. Watching love bloom between Lord Morton and Emma was very beautiful, though, and I found myself rushing through the last third or so to get to the end to see how things turned out. Another winner from the author, and I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
I loved the main characters’ honesty in the midst of misunderstanding! Refreshing in a regency romance. Have no fear, there still was a nasty, mean villain! The anticipation of how the issue would resolve, kept me turning the pages.

Emma Bavidge was being sent to stay with her aunt and hopefully secure a marriage, which as her aunt pointed out not likely to happen due to the scandal involving her father fair or not she is painted with the same brush. Once in London, her aunt leaves her on her own at gatherings trying to keep her a distance, which means Emma has no one to guide her through the season along with a friend who faces the same problems, They decide to try and acquaint themselves with Ladt Smithton a young widow who seems to sail through all the gossip about her while still enjoying the social whirl. They finally meet up and after some thought, she agrees to help a group is formed known as the Spinster Guild, Emma meets a young man Lord Nathaniel Morton who seems very kind and does not seem to overly care about the scandal everyone is talking about what Emma is not aware of is he was responsible for her father’s misconduct coming out he feels bad and is trying to smooth the way for Emma Until Viscount Rochester things seem to be going good, then Rochester begins to poison the water causing problems for Emma and Nathaniel can Nathaniel convince Emma how sorry he is or will Rochester destroy them both. Emma really doesn’t want to be a spinster.

“The Disgraced Bride” by Rose Pearson
The Spinsters Guild (book 2) is Miss Emma Bavidge’s story… and what a story it is. A clean Regency Romance with a lot of suspense. Will good triumph once again? I really liked this story. I did get so caught up in then angst generated that I had to put the story down and walk away for a little bit.. which wasn’t a total waste as I did get some items crossed off my ‘ToDo List’ during those breaks in the action !! I received an ARC of this story via BookSprout for my honest review. And, Yes this story is worth the read, at least it was for me… Now I am wondering who the star of book 3 will be. I am looking forward to my next adventure within ‘The Spinsters Guild’. Happy Reading !!
