This is book two in the trilogy and I am beginning to feel annoyed with Rourke. She vacillates too much in her feelings with Roman. She is either happy or sad, calm or angry and her anger is questionable. Rourke had no idea of how powerful Roman is. Instead of looking at things in a positive light, she always reverts to “you don’t trust me” or “you are not telling me everything”. So many times, Roman has asked her to trust him, that there were things he did not want her involved with. Rourke feels entitled to know every single thing going on with Roman. However, Rourke has shown that she cannot handle the truth without prejudice. She feels betrayed and lied to by Roman. She has no clue how far Roman’s reach in the world really is. I just really wish Rourke would get her head on straight and make up her d**m mind about how she is going to deal with Roman and her marriage.
I really liked this book. I thought book 1 was better but this one was really good. As Rourke and Roman’s marriage begins, Rourke is starting to find her place when tragedy strikes and secrets Roman has been keeping from her come to light. The ending was intense although I got mad at Rourke. I thought she blew things up way too fast without truly listening. But overall the book was well written and I’m completely in love with Roman!
And continuing with my new favorite author, this time I’m reading The Dirty Princess, second in the Exiled Prince trilogy. In The Exiled Prince, we meet Rourke and Roman. Rourke is Everly’s best friend, our heroine in The Rebel Queen duet. I read this duet first, and now I realize that the Exiled Prince trilogy goes first. But no problem, since both work alone. It’s just lovely to reunite with old friends!
In The Rebel King duet, Rourke is a secondary shadowy character, and her marriage to Roman is shown as devoted but we don’t know much about them. Even so, knowing Roman is Nicky’s older brother and knowing there’s some shady business in his businesses, I was intrigued.
The first book in this trilogy, The Exiled Prince, just shows us billionaire Roman Menshikov, the mogul, the businessman, and the exiled prince. We get treated to a lovely story as they fall in love. In this one, they are just married, a very spontaneous decision, product of the love and passion they feel for each other. And not even two days after their marriage, all the dominoes in Roman’s work start to fall and Rourke is subjected to so many plot twists that her poor head is spinning.
Behind the wealthy façade of the billionaire is a war lord, embroiled in arms deals, a war to liberate his country Kitzeh from a murderous dictator who has his people living in hunger, poverty and fear. There is a world where Roman inhabits that Rourke is a total stranger of. A woman initially headless in love with her husband, as she discovers new facets of her husband’s hidden world, she never stops to love and desire him, but starts to question the wisdom of uniting her destiny to his.
This book is riveting and enthralling. I was fascinated as new information about Roman surfaces, and I was very touched by his constant devotion and caring for Rourke. For Roman, she was his priority and her safety a must. Poor Rourke was buffeted by so much information coming up that she had a hard time keeping things straight.
Nothing is resolved in this issue, since it is a transition story between the first and third episodes. It was great in that it reveals the deep love Roman and Rourke have for each other and reveals Everly’s initial involvement with Nicky. It was great because it creates a lot of uncertainty, a lot of resentment in Rourke, and a lot of anxiety in Roman. He watched his world (Rourke) crumbling down and he was desperate to fix things and have her back. The fact that there was danger from unknown factions (at the time) adds a lot of juicy suspense to the book. As a transition book it was great, yummy, suspenseful and totally page-turner. And left me salivating for the finale!!
Wow just wow can this series get any hotter? perfection!
Thank you Wildfire and the author for an advanced copy. I voluntarily reviewed this book. All opinions expressed are my own.
The Dirty Princess
By: Jeana E. Mann
*REVIEW*
Everyone needs a little R and R, Roman and Rourke that is, right? The Dirty Princess sort of centers around the question: What happens after Cinderella and Prince Charming are married? In the case of Roman and Rourke, happily ever after is not so happy after all. Rourke, having possibly impulsively agreed to wed, realizes too late that reality does not match her dreams. Roman is not the guy she imagined or thought him to be; he is, in fact, much darker in personality and personal dealings. Roman is that sexy dark scary guy who both attracts and frightens females. Rourke is surprised, even though she should have known better, and she finds herself at sixes and sevens. The setup here is typical but still unpredictable and compelling. I like Roman because he is smart and understands how the world works, but Rourke, not so much. She is naive and wishy washy. I dislike Rourke for just being rather dumb when things were obvious. I did enjoy the story overall for its engaging, entertaining and naughty plot. This is a fun read, and I recommend!
“The Dirty Princess” was amazing. Yes a little bit different from the book one but definitely amazing.
When Roman proposed to Rourke she instantly said yes but little did she knew how will her life changed. She can’t be his assistant no more and she became seriously wealthy. With all the changes she has to learn how to navigate in definitely not easy Roman’s world. Rourke need to understand Roman’s world but when she finds out his darkest secrets that he didnt tell her before marriage she starts to think if she can move with their marriage or cut all the ties with man she loves.
Rourke gave Roman that ray of light to his dark life and he wants to give him everything that is available to buy. But his hidden secrets can ruin his marriage. Will they? If you want to find out you need to read this book. And believe me when I say you will be buying book three just after you’ll finished book two.
This book will definitely make you fell in love in characters even more and yes it’s a definitelyust read.
Book Two in the Royal Secrets Trilogy, The Dirty Princess begins where The Exiled Prince ends and cannot be read as a standalone. Rourke is married to her fairytale prince, but it doesn’t take long until the rug is pulled out from under her, as Rourke soon discovers that Roman isn’t the businessman she thought he was.
Secrets, lies and betrayals. While Rourke loves Roman, she’ll need to see if she can reconcile what she has learned about his secret life or end her marriage almost as quickly as it started. Rourke feels trapped between love and lust and lies and deceptions . . . and Roman’s troubles feel like they are just ramping up! And, through it all, their chemistry remains off the charts hot!
With Rourke and Roman at such as crossroads, I can’t wait to see how their story ends. Bring on The War King! 4.5 stars!
Book 2 in this Royal Secrets secrets and I found this one to be darker and full of suspense and secrets with lots going on. Very enjoyable, it keeps you on tenderhooks as you get to grips with the plot lines and the various twists and turns.
Roman and Rourke are now married, she married without hesitation but also without thinking how much her life would change. She is now the uber rich wife, Mrs Menshikov, and cannot be his assistant, but must step up and take charge of things she would never have dreamed of. Being married so soon, they still really do not know each other well, she is worried about losing her identity, the one she fought long and hard for. But she finds out Roman’s darkest secrets, the ones he has not bothered to tell her, ones that will put her life in danger and the lives of those around them.
Fast paced with dark and erotic sexy scenes, suspenseful and thrilling, well worth the read, this ends in a big cliffhanger, but I am looking forward to reading the next one.
The Dirty Princess (Royal Secrets #2) by Jeana E. Mann. Rourke now has to deal with what who her husband really is. Roman knew one day he would have to tell Rourke what he is doing. He has won the war but has he lost his wife especially after an assassination attempt on him brings him to whisking everyone to his London estate. The crap has hits the fan. This story is everything coming to a head. Rourke is trying to come to terms with who her husband really is and what he is doing. A surprise is also messing with her emotions. The relationship between Everly and Nicky is putting a strain on their friendship. An emotional rollercoaster to the conclusion of this series. Rourke was at a point where everything that was happening would even make or break her. The question is whether she will rise to the occasion and soar or leave her Cinderella tale. 4 stars for me.
The Dirty Princess is the second book in the Royal Secrets series. Roman & Rourke Menshikov story continues in The Dirty Princess.
Rourke doesn’t know about Roman’s secret life but she soon will. She is so in love with her prince and he is in love with her but is that enough?
There is a whopping cliffie at the end of this book and as soon as this review is finished I will be starting The War King so fortunately this book is also out and ready to read now!
Here is the reading order and I give this book 4.5 stars.
The Exiled Prince Trilogy
* The Exiled Prince
* The Dirty Princess
* The War King
Now onto the next book in this series!
Wow!! This entire series is AMAZING! I fell in love with The Exiled Prince and a little bit more with The Dirty Princess! Full of twists and turns this book had me on the edge of my seat! I wish the book had been a bit longer, but I am so excited to read the next book in this series!
The Dirty Princess; the second in the Royal Secrets trilogy is intriguing, engaging and over all what you would want in the second book to the Exiled Prince. The cliffhanger from the first book kicks off the second. Rourke pictures herself as a modern-day Cinderella, but after she slowly starts to learn things about Roman, she finds herself questions her feelings.
I found myself loving more parts of this books than others, and at times I wanted to knocked Rourke up-side the head more than once. Her life has changed, going from a PA to a wife is more than a job change, it’s a life change. As always though, the steamy scenes are hot, lust filled and all consuming between Roman and Rourke.
Dramatic, suspenseful, dangerous, heartbreaking, all rolled up into one story that leaves you biting at the bookmark for the next in the series. Off I go to read the next one!
Freshly minted Mrs. Menshikov
—>>> Review Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars – Rourke’s eyes have not been opened to the wealth and privilege which comes with being married to exiled prince Roman Menshikov, but now they have. And not everything is champagne and roses. They have not even had a chance to have a honeymoon when the vital matters Roman has been trying to manage ends up ripping them right out of their lives and into situation they had no control over. When the smoke clears, Rourke will know more about what the man she has married stands for as well as what has shaped him, but only she knows whether she will be willing to accept this hidden and darker side of a man who most likely has even more secrets waiting in the wings which could impact her life. Looking forward to the last installment of this series!
This is the second book in the series, and I would advise readers to read book 1 prior to this as it is continuing on with the same characters. Rouke, the female lead character, had certain expectations when marrying Roman, the main male character. Most of these expectations did not materialize and so she feels betrayed and she is not so happily married as her fairytale comes crashing into reality. This book ends on a cliffhanger and so I am eagerly awaiting the final part of the trilogy and I’m excited to see where the author takes this mesmerizing story next.

The Dirty Princess is the continuation of Roman and Rourke’s story and I am loving their story so far. Marriage life isn’t what Rourke thought it would be and she’s finding out Roman has a lot of secrets. These two go through a lot in this book but it’s a love story with many unexpected twists. Loved this heartbreaking, gritty emotional rollercoaster that Rourke and Roman are on and I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series to find out what happens next for these two.
Emotional roller-coaster and love being put to test in a web of lies
Talk about dramatic circumstances. This part has it all. It is one hell of emotional roller-coaster. There’s enough angst, heartbreak, tears, jealousy, lack of trust and lies that could be spread to other couples and they would still struggle to get their happily ever after. As in most cases when something goes south it’s because of lack of communication between partners in relationship and because of keeping secrets. When we are afraid that by saying the truth we could ruin the connection we started to build with other person it is always keeping secrets that tears people apart no matter how strong love is and how hard we are trying to salvage what’s left of relationship. Will they succeed despite the meddling of other people trying to keep them apart? Is their bond strong enough to keep them together? Does love conquer all? After the cliffhanger I just need to know what happens next.
This one just blew me away. What am I saying, so did book one “The Exiled Prince”. When I started this book, I read the teaser and thought, ‘oh, a BDSM relationship with a few twists.’ Yeah, there’s so much more to this storyline than that. Jeanna E. Mann has created such an intense story with relatable characters and sub-characters that just suck you in. I’ve been turning pages so quickly while on the edge of my seat, wanting to find out what was going to happen next. This is a gritty, intense, emotional rollercoaster that I have no intentions of getting off until it plays out which leads me to two avenues of thought. One I want to know what happens now, it’s that good. Two, I don’t want it to end because it’s that good.

This was my first book by this author and definitely will not be my last it has a great storyline and characters that are well developed and engaging and kept my attention till the end.

This is the second book in the series. This begins with Roman and Rourke settling into married life. Rourke is starting to realise what Roman is really like. What his life is all about. There are secrets, lies intrigue, safe houses and whatever you mind can form. Wiil these two actually want to stay married? If they do, will they get their HEA?
Stay tuned for the next in the series.
