Loved this book, didn’t want it to end
I loved this book!! This book was just what I needed! I read this on KU and it was a hit!!
Addyson has given up on dating. After years of bad luck she is just not looking anymore. In walks Lucas as she is giving her friend Harper the reasons why she is done dating. When Harper and Lucas’s friend Justin hit it off, Addy and Lucas are forced to spend time together. Will Addy see the difference between Lucas and the frogs she kissed before? Will the difference be just what she needs?
This was a great book!! I have more I need to read from this author on KU!
Addyson Stafford has had it with men and relationships after the last few have broken her heart and left her thinking there are no decent men out there. She has decided on a self-imposed hiatius and that’s when she meets a guy who could possibly be Mr.Right.
Lucas Prescott is an architect and is attending a local fair when he meets Addyson and the two have a great time hanging out with each other. He is extremely attracted to Addyson but she won’t go further than the “friend” stage.
Can Lucas show Addyson that he is a good guy or will Addyson jump to conclusions and judge him based on every guy she has dated before?
I really enjoyed this book and it was a fun romance filled with some serious moments too!
I liked Addyson but I hated how she viewed all guys the same after her past few relationships. I knew why she had her guard up but I wanted Lucas to have more of a chance than what she was giving him. He kept proving that he was a good guy but Addyson was constantly jumping to conclusions and I didn’t know what Lucas was going to have to do to show her how much he cared.
I thought Lucas was a great guy right from the start and he loved his job. I loved what he did for Addyson after the night at the bar and if that wasn’t going to win her over I didn’t think anything would.
There was so much chemistry between the two of them if only Addyson would open up and I was so happy when she finally did!
I hated the “twist” and how Addyson jumped to conclusions about a certain thing but I was grateful that Lucas got to explain in time!
The end was awesome and I was super happy that Lucas was able to show Addyson that he was such an amazing guy!
What a great story! This book has all the feels, and the feels are strong! Love reading a great comeback story, and this totally was, Addy is coming back from so many bad relationships that she just cannot think of dating again. Lucas overhears her woes and has to try to make her see that there are indeed good men out there.
This is a fun quick read that will keep you interested throughout. Totally LOVE the bull riding.
The Difference is a stand-alone novel by Kaylee Ryan. The main characters are Addy and Lucas. Addy has been burned in the past from the men she was dating and now she is not willing to give another man a try in the immediate future. That’s too bad since when she makes that decision she meets Lucas who is the love of her life. As you can guess, a large part of the book is spent on reading how Lucas was trying to convince her to give him a chance. If I were him, I probably have given up at some point, but Lucas kept proving that he is into Abby and that she was the one for him.
I will admit that after some point, I was starting to get frustrated from the way Abby was behaving and she got a little on my nerves. I understood where she was coming from though. Lucas’ character might even be described as unrealistic because there is no way a man could be so understanding and loving.
I loved that we had a secondary plot with Harper and Justin who are Abby and Lucas’s best friends respectively. We don’t get their point of views, but we got to see everything else, so in my opinion, it was good.
The book overall was very good and it proved once again why every time I see a book written by Kaylee Ryan I pick it up! So far she hasn’t disappointed me!
What can I say…Kaylee could write the phone book and I’d read it. Addy and Lucas’s story was no different.
I loved this story and I don’t want to give anything away, but Addy’s hesitation was believable and understandable and Lucas NEVER gave up on her. He knew what he wanted and made her see that he was The Difference.
As always there are great side characters
I found myself smiling a lot while reading this and I highly recommend it!!!
The Difference is a beautiful insta love story. The story will pull you in and make you sigh, laugh, and keep you engaged till the end. The characters were likeable, and they had instant connection. I liked them. Secondary characters were good too, and I thought they added fun to the story. I always look forward to this authors books, I like her writing style, and her stories are always amusing.
Gosh, where do I begin. Addyson has had a bad time with relationships, I mean you name it, so when her and her bestie Harper are at the bar talking about relationships and how she is taking a break dont you know sexy as sin Lucas interrupts them and her world changes without her knowing it. Lucas is determined to show her he is the difference, to show her that life lead her to the hear and now and he will show her that he is the right man for her. Lucas has a fight on his hands but with a little understanding and love that makes all the difference he needs (less)
This is a lighthearted & FUN read! Luke & Addy’s meet-cute is hilarious & the sparks are instant. She’s sworn off dating, tho, so he has to live firmly in the friend category for a bit. The awesome thing about Luke is that he doesn’t mind. He truly just wants to be w/ Addyson & is willing to give her the time she needs to admit what they both know – they are the difference for each other.
Along w/ our two main characters, we also get to follow along w/ Justin & Harper, Luke & Addy’s BFF’s who meet the same night. Their relationships mirror each other as far as the timing goes, but Harper doesn’t have the same history, so she’s much more open to the romantic relationship.
I absolutely enjoyed this story so much!! Super cute, all around!! : )
Why is it the moment you swear off guys, prince charming just magically appears? That’s what has happened to Addyson Stafford, when the gorgeous and charming Luke Prescott walks up to her in a bar. Jaded from all the frogs she has kissed along the way, she decides to fight the pull she feels to Lucas. He doesnt take no for an answer and decides to win her over. This swoony slow burn romance will have you wanting more, and wanting your own Lucas. Kaylee has written another amazing story!
Kaylee Ryan writes directly to my heart. Her words are nearly lyrical in the poetic way she writes. I love the two girl friends on a night out and two guys out also on a night out. All four are just looking to relax with their bestie and they stumble upon each other. Addy is totally done, she wants a break, away from men… shes been hurt and is totally burnt out on the opposite sex. Lucas is persistent and he’s seriously digging her. So he tries and tries until she gives in. All it takes is that once. I loved the secondary relationship with Harper and Justin.
Kaylee Ryan creates these characters that feel so real. They feel like people that I’d like and that isn’t easy to do! I love when a man gets his mind made up for a woman and sets his sights on exactly who he wants. Lucas was determined and I love that characteristic in a man. Ryan continues to write fantastic people and real situations that pull me in each and every time.
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.

This is such a good book. I want a Lucas for myself. He’s is the type guy that any woman dreams of. He has so many swoon worthy moments in this book. His biggest swoon worthy moment is how patient he is with Addyson. Addyson has had the worst luck with relationships and one night at a bar venting about it may just be the best decision she ever made. A chance meeting may lead to ever after. Lucas is showing and proving to Addyson that he is not like the other men she has known in the past. Many feels in this book especially the epilogue. The epilogue is the perfect touch that left me with a smile on my face when I finished this one. This is definitely one you don’t want to miss.
Addyson is on a break from dating. She has had enough with losers. Enjoying a girls night out with her bestie is what she needs. She definitely doesn’t need the sexy guy that’s eavesdropping on her conversation. Luca though, he’s determined to break down her walls. Can he prover that he can be “the difference”?
What an absolutely beautiful and inspiring love story! I loved every sweet, romantic and sexy word. I fell in love with Addy and Luke and their unique journey. Full of passion, love, and hope, this book will warm your heart. An absolute MUST READ!!!!

There is something about this story that makes you want to swoon and swoon and then swoon some more!!! The Difference by Kaylee Ryan is one of those stories that stays with you and leaves a smile on your face. Oh and I just love the title, The Difference, it makes this story that much more swoon-worthy.
The character connections are brilliant, the banter is fun and the opening chapter will have you laughing out loud!!. As an added bonus not only do you get Addy and Lucas’s story, you get the BFF”s story mixed right in!! It’s almost like two books in one!!! It’s written so smoothly that you don ‘t miss anything. The story is so intertwined but it pulls it all together.
Addy has had enough of relationships. She has gotten the short end of the stick way too many times to keep track. But one ladies night with her BFF, Harper, will have you laughing out loud and of course, get you feeling that awkward moment of meeting someone new. And the Difference starts there!!!
An amazing, feel-good read that will give you a book hangover.
I highly recommend this story. I have read most of Ms. Ryans books but this one just beat out the others for my favorite. I was sucked in to the story and the characters and didn’t want their story to end. I loved the secondary characters as well. Lucas is super sweet, protective and has the patience of a saint. Addy is lost, broken and has walls built up so high and strong around her heart due to bad relationships. She has zero trust for the male race and its understandable. Lucas is out to prove that he is not like all the douche-bags she has been with. He takes his time and is trying to show Addy that he is a keeper.
Will Lucas be able to break down the walls and get through to Addy that he is one of the good guys? One click this one today, you won’t be disappointed!
Addyson is skeptical of dating after being hurt so many times. One night her friend Harper and her go out for drinks at neighborhood bar. Lucas and his friend Justin are there doing the same thing when they start talking to Addison and Harper. Harper and Justin definitely like each other but Addyson is reluctant to take a chance with Lucas. Will Addyson ever let Lucas in? Will Lucas stay around to prove he’s not like everyone else?
This is my favorite Kaylee Ryan book ever! The Difference is the sweetest, swooniest, most happy sigh inducing book I’ve read in a long time. Right from the start I fell hard and fast for Lucas. The man comes out full swoon sweeping you off your feet the second you meet him. No joke, he is THAT amazing. One night with Addy and their friends and he knows she’s the one for him.
Addy on the other hand has been burned a few too many times. While her previous disastrous relationships may seem a bit funny in the beginning, they certainly left her jaded. Lucas being the perfect man he isn’t deterred one bit though. His slow wooing as he earns her trust makes for the swooniest of romances.

Wow, Kaylee Ryan knows how to turn on the charm. I’ve loved every one of the books I’ve read by this author but this might be my favorite. In The Difference we actually get two beautiful love stories in one; Justin and Harper and then the main event, Lucas and Addy.
As girlfriends do, Harper and Addy have shared a lot. Harper has lived through each and every one of Addy’s failed love stories with the colossal jerks she’s dated. To say these ladies are a little gun shy is a massive understatement. Harper may still believe in the fairy tale but Addy has declared herself on a break from men. But as fate would have it, you find what you’ve been missing when you stop looking.
Lucas and Justin are best friends and truly good men. Justin has it way easier convincing Harper of his good guy status than Luke does with the guarded Addy but Lucas knows she’s worth the effort. Even just texting her sets his heart to racing and it doesn’t take him long to figure out she’s the one. She might be wary but he’s ready. Going after what he wants has never been a problem for him and he’s going to show Addy he’s the difference!
This book made me swoon so hard! From their first meet, Lucas melted my heart and deserved the notice of our guarded girl. He’s sweet, patient (but not too patient) and honest. It might’ve taken him awhile to win over Addy’s heart but he had mine by chapter three. They are just perfect together. I also loved seeing Harper and Justin’s love story unfold alongside theirs. Maybe single girls need to check out that bar the girls were at the first night, it seems lucky! Wink wink!

The Difference by Kaylee Ryan is the story of Lucas and Addyson aka Addy . Addy met Lucas while she was out with her friend, Harper having a girls night at a bar. Lucas was with his friend Justin and they happen to be eavesdropping on the girls conversation. From there the story just takes off. Addy and Lucas’s story is full of feels, low angst, romance and insta-love. Addy has had the worst love when it comes to relationships so she is definitely gun-shy yet Lucas knows Addy is the woman for him and is determined to make her believe it. The chemistry and connection is there and the plot is spot on. Another winner for author Kaylee Ryan. I loved the feels, romance and emotion that this story brings forth. I enjoyed the main characters and secondary characters- they meshed really well with this plot.
My Rating: 4.5 stars ********
You can never go wrong with a book from Kaylee Ryan. I always know when I pick up one of her books, I am in for a great journey and with The Difference she definitely did not disappoint. I loved this book so much and devoured it. It was such a captivating read!
Addyson is done with men. After one bad relationship after another, she needs a break. But while talking to her friends about her “no more men” plans, she meets a man that wants to prove her wrong. I loved Addyson. She was sweet and caring, if a little reluctant to let another man in, with good reason. Lucas was everything. He was such a good man who was kind and determined. He was unwavering in his pursuit to show her not all men are the same. But can Addyson let him in? The Difference by Kaylee Ryan is her at her best and I highly recommend it!
