A lighthearted swoon-worthy summer read from NYT Bestselling Author, Kaylee Ryan. I’ve kissed a lot of frogs, just to be covered in warts. I’ve been lied to, cheated on, and used more times than I can count. I don’t have it in me to keep going. I need a break from it all. I need time for the wounds to heal, and the scars to fade. Wouldn’t you know it’s my luck, to meet a gorgeous man, after … heal, and the scars to fade. Wouldn’t you know it’s my luck, to meet a gorgeous man, after declaring my self-imposed break? He’s charming, sexy, and determined to change my mind.
I wasn’t looking for her, but when I overheard her conversation, I had to add my two cents. Within minutes of talking to her, I knew she was unlike anyone I’d ever met. Bruised from past relationships, she’s built a fort around her heart. Doesn’t she know the prince always rescues the princess? I think about her all the time. The more I’m around her, the more I want to be. I’ve made my choice. It’s her. Now, all I have to do is prove to her that I’m the difference.more
Sweet, swoon-worthy and a couple that is just magical make The Difference one of Kaylee Ryan’s best books to date! I fell in love with Addyson and Lucas’s story and I truly enjoyed every moment of it. I was completely captivated with their story, along with the secondary characters in this book. A story about healing, trust, patience and a hero that steals the show makes The Difference absolute perfection in my eyes! This story grabbed me from page one and still has my heart! I highly suggest this book!
I received a review copy of the book before release for an honest review.
This was a really fun story with a lot of romance and sweetness thrown into it. Lucas and Addison meet one night in a bar when their two best friends find each other and fall for the other. As the besties they become really great friends. However Addy has a very sad love history and so she does not want love, romance, a boyfriend and so Lucas gets friendzoned.
That was my favorite part of the book they become real friends and though Addy knows he wants more they get close as friends and he wants to show her that he is the difference between all the jerks of her past and the guy that really cares about her.
This is a 2nd chance at love, and a besties who fall in love and it absolutely worked wonderfully. I loved every second of the story and was only sorry it ended.
He’ll show her that he’s the difference.
I really enjoyed this book from Kaylee Ryan that is low on angst and heavy on the generous serving of gorgeous, sexy and compelling book hero. In fact there were two of them. One each for Addyson and her best friend Harper, who were out at a bar where Harper was trying to raise Addy’s interest in single men. Lucas and his friend Justin, just happen to walk past the girls table as Addy tells Harper that she is staying single for quite some time after the run of bad luck she’s had. She’s over it, and no longer trusts her own good judgement.
Lucas tries telling Addyson that not all men are duds but she’s sceptical, whereas Harper takes one look at Justin and is just … stunned. Their relationship forges ahead, but Addy is hanging onto her single status by the skin of her teeth. She’s more than tempted, but so damn cautious, that my patience had pretty much disappeared while his was still going strong! This guy was the bomb, and he was going to make Addy see why he’s the difference to the other relationships.
He’s the difference between a good date and a bad one, between a good relationship and a crappy one, between a man who takes a woman for granted, and one who will go the extra mile to treat her with love and respect. Lucas has his work cut out for him, and he’s prepared to go the distance.
These are all well rounded characters who make the book just easy and fantastic to read, and one that I highly recommend to readers who love the sweet and steamy romances that are just food for the romantic soul. 4.5 Stars.
I am in awe of this beautiful story. Addy has been through so much, the morons that have hurt her in so many ways, keep her cynical about love & relationships. Lucas is an extremely patient man, his character is by far the sweetest & oh the swooniness just oozes from him. The chemistry & lust is so well written u feel it with each page u turn it makes u melt bc it’s so HOT! Completely in awe of these characters & the beautiful story of how an amazing man shows the one that he is “the difference”. I’m not sure I’ve had a story by Kaylee affect me this much since Ridge in Unexpected Reality. This story sucked me in & I couldn’t stop until i couldn’t go any further. I highly recommend this book. Told in dual POV.
Another Kaylee Ryan book to fall in love with! Lucas and Addy are the perfect couple and have such amazingly hot chemistry. She had been through some bad experiences with men and was so closed off that she was afraid to let him in. Lucas was sweet, patient and completely determined to win her heart. The side characters are just as fabulous, especially Justin and Harper. A definite must read
I am over here still a bumbling mess after reading The Difference, so if what I say comes out a jumpled mess, it’s because my heart is feeling all kinds of amazing things right now.
The Difference. This title is absolutely EVERYTHING! If I could use one word to sum up this book, it would be the ‘difference’. Holy Moly, not only was it weaved in and out of this brilliant story, but it also perfectly describes these characters. The Difference is a captivating – whimsical and just every other dang amazing word in the dictionary read. The Difference is Kaylee Ryan at her best. The story line is relateable, the characters, both main and secondary, sensational. There was great development throughout the story and through the characters. The chemistry and the determination was enough to catch this whole entire world aflame. To sum up what I am actually trying to say is this : THE DIFFERENCE IS EXACTLY WHAT A ROMANCE NOVEL SHOULD BE!
Addyson has been through heck and back when it comes to the opposite sex, so she is on a hiatus. As for her character, she is a sweet and innocent woman who adores little humans. She also has a huge thing for music in general, and enjoys concerts like no ones business.
LUCAS!!! Some one give me a fan to cool me off, because he ticks off every box of ” What women want checklist “. He is sincere and brilliant. Different than most men in general, a kind soul with a determined heart.
After Lucas overhears a conversation from Addyson and her best friend, he is determined to show Addyson not every man is the same. Can Lucas tear down the walls surrounding Addyson’s heart? Or is the past too much to bare?
The Difference by Kaylee Ryan is the story of Lucas and Addyson ‘Addy ‘.
Lucas is out with his best friend Justin when he overhears a conversation between Addy and Harper. Lucas knows pretty quickly that there is something different about Addy but what he hears is that she has sworn off men for awhile. Addy has been hurt, embarrassed and burned by past relationships. While out on a girls night with her friend Harper, Addy tells her that she is taking a break from men and dating, then enter Lucas and Justin. Justin and Harper hit it off which sets Addy to keep seeing Lucas who is out to prove that not all men are the same….that they are some good guys out there…namely him.
This was a easy enjoyable read! I will be looking for more from this author for sure!
Remember all those perfect book boyfriends you read about? Imagine having each and every one of them wrapped all up in one cute, sexy, swoon worthy packaged. That is was Kaylee Ryan is serving up for her newest release, The Difference.
Lucas Prescott is The Difference. His determination and pursuit of the unlucky serial dater, Addyson, is one you don’t want to miss out on.
Addy is definitely the definition of skittish when it comes to guy. One after another has lined up only to let her down and shatter her heart. Until Lucas Prescott.
Lucas is perfect. Too perfect, which is the only problem I had with this book. Addy pushes him away time and time again but book boyfriend Lucas never once gets angry or defensive. With that being said, that was kinda Ryan’s point of this book. To write a guy who is ultimately “The Difference”. However, in my eyes he was a little too perfect for all the frustration Addy understandably caused. This is definitely a happily ever after, sugary sweet romance that’ll make your heart twitterpatted until the end.
GAH!!! I love everything Kaylee Ryan has ever written, but I think The Difference is my favorite! Lucas is so swoon worthy! I sighed dreamily a lot while reading this book! Addy tried my patience more than once, but I did love her too! Justin and Harper were pretty great too! I love amazing side characters! As always, Kayle Ryan wrote a sweet book with a great HEA and very little angst.
The Difference but Kaylee Ryan was fantastic. This book is fun and heartwarming to read. Addyson definitely kissed a bunch of frogs before she found her prince, but let me tell you her prince came when she wasn’t looking and showed her what a real man it’s supposed to be. Lucas will make you swoon. He is everything she never knew she could have and more. Watching her fall and let her hardened heart soften was such a fun journey. I can’t review this book without mentioning the almost bonus love story of her secondary characters, Harper and Justin, Addy and Lucas’s best friends. They will all put a smile on your face and a flutter in your heart!
Yet again another quality book from Kaylee Ryan! This book really sheds light on the reality of dating currently, coming from someone with experience! Addyson has had a rough time in the dating world, and after her last disaster of a relationship, she’s decided to take a break. While out with her best friend, she is overheard by Lucas and his best friend, who insert themselves into the girls conversation and try to give them a run for their money in the dating world. Lucas recognizes that Addyson is different than the average girl, and continues to pursue her any chance he can get, especially since their best friends end up getting together. With Addyson being elusive and shy to give it a chance, she can’t deny the unbelievable chemistry between them. Finally she gives into it, and the relationship is amazing. But when assumptions and questions arise, the question is if it will break them apart. I can’t say enough amazingly good things about Kaylee and her books, this one being no exception. Can’t wait for the next one!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This was such a swoony read. Lucas is awesome and so patient with Addy. You can’t help but fall in love with them.
Kaylee Ryan has been an automatic one click from me from her very first book Anywhere With You. Her characters are so relatable! Addy and Luke are no different. Addy held a special place in my heart because of her profession and things in my own life. She was a wonderful sweet girl who just never had luck in the romance department until Luke came along. Luke never gave up but at the same time never pushed too hard. I absolutely loved this book, thank god I got it on a weekend and didn’t have to put it down because I don’t think I would have been able to.
So I absolutely fell in love with this book. The characters, the story, the emotional journey. It is an amazing story of four people falling in love. I was so excited when I started this book and realized I was getting the love story of not one but two couples. Addy and Lucas are your main characters but through their story you also get Harper and Justin. I couldn’t put it down. It sucked me in and held me there til the last word. And then I wanted so much more. I love the banter between these characters and the sexual tension is off the charts hot. Another amazing story by Kaylee Ryan.
Kaylee Ryan is not a new to me author, I’ve read almost all of her books and this one is HANDS DOWN my favorite!
Lucas Prescott is different, in the best way possible. He has a confidence about himself that is attractive, he isn’t overly cocky in how he acts either. He is ULTIMATE BOOK BOYFRIEND material. The man is sexy, swoon worthy, caring, and the list could go on and on.
Addyson has had it with men. She is done with them, taking a break from the dating game. While enjoying a night out with her best friend, going through the list of all her failed relationships, Lucas and his friend Justin decide to join them.
There is an instant connection between Addy and Lucas, of course, Addy is sticking with her plan of no men. Lucas is determined to show her that not all men are terrible, that he will be the difference. But will he be able to convince her?
I was completely hooked on this book from there very first page. It was easy to connect with the characters and the story. Plus, I’m sure we have all been where Addy is at some point in our lives. Not only were the main characters absolutely fantastic, but so were the secondary characters. I ABSOLUTELY adored both Harper and Justin and their chemistry with each other. The four friends together was amazing, I seriously felt like I was there just enjoying a BBQ with them all thanks to Kaylee’s writing.
Whether you’ve read a book by Kaylee or she is a new to you author this book is MUST READ! It is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC from start to finish.
EVERY TIME!!!! Every single time I read a book by this author, I just know I’ve found a new favorite book! The Difference is no exception to that, and promises to hold a special place in my heart. Lucas absolutely made me swoon over and over, because of the way he was with Addyson. It was perfect!
Addyson has a wonderful life, but absolutely no luck with guys. Each time she thinks she’s found a “diamond” she finds out she has really just found a shiny piece of coal. This has left her jaded to love, and leads to her determination to be alone, leaving the possibility of love for others to find. As soon as she makes this decision, fate throws in her path a man determined to prove that he is different than all the rest. But Addy isn’t sure she can believe him.
Lucas knows there is something special about Addyson, and that they are meant to be together. But just as he is determined to make her his, she is just as determined to avoid the heartache she just knows is coming. Because all guys are the same, and none can be trusted.
The connection between Lucas and Addyson is magical and undeniable. I can’t say enough how much I absolutely loved them!!!!! Their story was beautiful, and perfect. I enjoyed their joking together, as well as how intense Lucas could be when he was pursuing Addy. An absolute must read!!!
This is a sweet story of Lucas trying to break through the barriers that Addison built up after becoming disheartened to having living and healthy romantic relationship after multiple bad relationships in her past. She is over the cheaters, losers and liars. She thinks the best way to protect herself is to not bother trying again. She can satisfy whatever needs she may have. Lucas comes in as she is reiterating this to her best friend and is determined to prove her wrong. He sees that she very well could be the woman he has been planning for and sets out to win her heart.
I’m a huge fan of this authors books. Each time I start one I know I’m in for a treat. This was no different either. Addy made my heart hurt in the beginning. She was so wounded and hurt. Lucas was the perfect guy for her. He had patience, perseverance and compassion. He literally wore her down. It was a pleasure to see him heal her heart. This was a beautiful love story and the best thing was witnessing both couples at the same time! Good book
it was amazing
Once again Kaylee has blown me away…This book has pushed her Rock Star status even higher in my opinion
They say never say never, well for Addy that phrase is very true, The poor woman has been hurt more times then possible. She wants the one. Well is all honesty who doesn’t. Here’s the thing you never know when the one is just going to walk into your life. For Addy and her best friend Harper it happened on a girls night at a bar.
Lucas Presscott in my opinion is the perfect male character. He’s hot and he’s got ink!!! To me that’s perfection. But also he put’s Addyson on a pedestal. That right there makes him 100% swoon worthy
