Fun and entertaining! What a delightful romp into the world of angels and demons. Get ready to meet the king of the underworld, Lucifer, and get an inside look at his plans to take over the world and heaven, itself. His scheme is not what you might think. Lucifer is a lecherous, yet somehow almost loveable lothario, with some very human idiosyncrasies (vanity, massive sense of entitlement, short temper…) which lend themselves rather well to setting the stage for this unique, entertaining, often comedic story. Personally, I found that having this book written from Lucifer’s point of view (unlike the rest of the books in this series) was a brilliant approach to generating interest in the series while, at the same time, giving us insight into the mindset of a potentially repellant character. Had Lucifer been portrayed as the embodiment of wrath, evil, and vitriol instead of as a lecherous, self-absorbed, occasionally clueless guy willing to learn origami just to tell a joke at an office meeting, this book would have been far less enjoyable and, in my opinion, far less likely to pique the reader’s curiosity about what else awaits us in the future installments of this series. It is not a long book, sadly, only one evening’s entertainment but be prepared for a completely immersive experience that will leave you wanting more.

I found this book to be full of satire and witticism in telling about the devil coming to earth to try and take over earth as well as hell to go up against heaven and win this time.
If you want a book that treats the devil with humor you’ve found it. Of course we really don’t want to be under his power and the only group that is unfortunately are the politicians because they sold their souls to the devil a long time ago!
It is the first in a series by Demelza Carlton which should be fun to read. I know I’m going to start the second book as soon as I have an opportunity because who knows the devil may have met his match with the angel Mel that he’s brought on board at the end of the book as the teaser to pick up the next book in the series. It has me curious to find out so I’m getting it-what about you?
I love the chance to cheer for a good bad guy. And any author who can redeem the Devil and turn him into the hero of the story has got my attention. This story introduces us to Luce, the CEO, and sets the stage for the battle to come. I can’t wait to see what’s next for Luce and Mel and the rest of the demons and angels.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author.
It could of been a good book, but it is not, it just rambles and makes no sense.
Luce Iblis, the Lord of Hell wants to rule the Earth and The Heaven again, and he is starting in Western Australia to no rise the Angel’s suspicions. But when he mets Melody Angel he is lost. Can Melody save the world?
What a quick fun read. I love reading books that star the Devil. He always has so much fun. You will laugh at all Luce gets up to in this first book. Mel doesn’t show up in this book until the very end. So you have a fun time following Luce around while he does whatever he wants. This is the beginning of a fun series I can see it.

I really enjoyed reading this is a short but humorous story. I found the story-line & plot quite entertaining, well-thought out & written. The characters are quite realistic and have individual personalities.
There is: demons, angels, humans, an arrogant demon (Lucifer), his assistants (Lillith & Mephi), a new angel (Mel), twists & turns, devious plans, determination, memories, opportunities, politicians, greed, contracts, corruption, foiled plans, rivalry, frustration, amusement & temptation.
Overall rating: 4.8
Book one in this series was hopefully, the perfect pitch to have readers chomping for the next! Wonderful characters, a storyline with a purpose, and the cunning set up to what promises to be highly entertaining as well as shocking. Truly what I imagine to be a slam dunk invitation to a great series! Looking forward to the mystery that is Mel. All my reviews are always voluntarily written.
The Devil is in the details and this book covers everything, from likeable characters to great world building to romance.
Can’t wait for the next in the series.
I liked this little glimpse into Lucifer’s world. Now I want to read the rest!! Luce reminds me of a cross between Lucifer (well from Lucifer) and Crowley (from Supernatural). Loved this. I want to know how his plan for domination of earth goes on his path to taking heaven. And I sympathize with his feelings about elevators. 😉 I received a review copy.
