This is the final book in the two-book duet. Book one must be read first. One man thinks I’m a saint. The other thinks I’m a sinner. One man lives in the public eye. The other lurks in the shadows. One man wants to use me for his own needs. The other wants to use me for his revenge. One man will get what’s coming to him. The other will get what he deserves. They told me good girls get rewarded. But … will get what he deserves.
They told me good girls get rewarded.
But I’ve been bad. Very bad.
I made a deal with The Devil…and I liked it.

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance:
Heat/Steam:
Story/Plot:
World building:
Character development:
The heroine: Eden – was neglected by her mother and used by Cain. Damien is now using her to get revenge. Though I think of the three Damien has better intentions for her than her mother did.
The Hero(es): Cain Carter – his goal is to become Mayor and everything he does is toward achieving that goal. Though he loves Eden (is obsessed with her really), he plans to marry the Governor’s daughter for political gain. He eventually wants to become President.
Damien King – Cain betrayed him and broke him when they were in high school and now he is driven by the desire to get revenge. He plans to take everything from Cain starting with Eden.
The Love Story: Damien plans to marry Eden and run for mayor against Cain. Eden is attracted to Damien despite being in love with Cain.
This story has so many intricacies, I was fascinated from the start. In The Devil I felt for Damien and though I didn’t like him at first, I grew to really like him. I was ambivalent about Cain early in the book despite his actions as a teen, but one thing I do know is that this is sizzling hot and super steamy!!! It is dark and twisty and erotic just how I like it…
I must say that after the things Cain did in The Devil and the way he has manipulated Eden, it was fun to see him thwarted by Damien more than once. It is rare in books when an “Anti-Hero” gets a taste of his own medicine, so I really enjoyed that. Not that Damien was a pillar of goodness himself, but I really liked him so I forgave his missteps.
Cain makes a good villain in this book since he goes to untenable lengths to get what he wants. I loved the fact that this one was just as unpredictable and surprising as the first book. I didn’t think there would be as many big reveals as there were in the first book, but I think this one had more. Just when I thought I knew where the story was going it would take a turn that I never suspected.
This book as well as the first were absolutely amazingly! I’m blown away at how Ashley Jade writes the characters for these stories. Damien and Eden are my favorites. Loved all the twists and turns and definitely how it all ended, did not see it coming. These two books are my absolute favorites so far of all I have read!!
I love me some Damien. I knew Cain was to cocky for his own good. My dear sweet Eden was the best of all.
Oeemmmmgeeeee
Absolutely worth the f*kng wait. Ashley has gone above and beyond in this story of a Devil’s Triangle. Wow just wow the twists and turns and the payback just blew my mind.
No spoilers, but if you’ve read the first book The Devil you’ll definitely want to read this story. I think this story was even better if that’s even possible than the first one, but then that’s my opinion.
This story had me turning pages faster than I could read them and holy smokes the heat coming off those dirty sexy af times will have you looking over your shoulder while you read and fanning yourself and saying whoaaa as hot as they were they could melt your kindle.
I’d most definitely would recommend or even say this is a must read.
This is just my opinion and my review
There is some devil magic at work in The Devil’s Advocate forcing absolute consumption of every delicious word. The duet is a thrilling set that leaves the reader craving more of the author’s brilliant wordsmithing.
Hot. Kink. Twists. OMG!!!!
Book one – The Devil – teased the reader and lured them into these magnificent characters and book two delivered well beyond any expectation. The author shows her ability to not only construct a world, but portrays compelling characters we love to hate and hate to love.
Both books are worth many repeat reads.
Very well done and highly recommended.
One of my top reads – not just for 2019 – but ever.
Twisted, brilliant, warped, erotic, deviant and corrupt wrapped in the beauty and strength that is Eden.
The conclusion of The Devil’s Playground duet was completely jaw dropping. It is everything I expected from Ashely and everything I did not know I wanted from Ashely. I highly suggest you read The Devil first in order to get the full experience and trust you want to experience it all!
My loyalty to Cain, Damien and Eden jumped from one to the other with almost every turn of the page. Eden was just a little seedling in The Devil but in the Devil’s Advocate she blossoms into a powerful women. Cain and Damien are as twisted as they come. The ending was unpredictable and perfection.
The Devil can be anyone .. these time he is Damien King. The man with a solid purpose, lust, hatred and the need to punish. I love loved the idea of triangle play. Ashley had written it so vividly shocking and full of surprises. The characters were strong and dominant. Between Cain, Eden and Damien, I cant have my favorite because they were so good.
The Devil’s Advocate was not for a faint of heart. The story and what happened within will spin your head so fast! My jaw is hurting since I had so many jaw-dropping moment! This was a serious read and I cant stop! I was drawn with the unique relationships. The love between the Devil and Lamb. The weakness within three corrupted souls. The lies and everything! Boy, Ashley had fantasized me many times. I am crazy over Damien King, the Devil who had fallen in love…
Epic!!!!
Ashley Jade as blown it out of the park with this book. This book definitely is on my top read for 2019! From start to finish I was on the edge is my seat.
The Devil’s Advocate is the second book to The Devil (which you definitely need to read first). It picks right up where The Devil left off. You also get answers on things and kind out more that we never knew about.
Not only do we get the hot scenes, there’s the angst and the emotions. So many twists and turns that leave you in a complete speechless state and mind blown.
If I could give this more then five stars I so would. This is definitely one of Ashley’s best books to date.
Wow what a book!! The surprises this book had in store for me threw me completely off. And it’s just what I needed. I was kept on the edge of my seat the entire time. I loved the steamy scenes of course but the mystery and the base storyline was one I was enthralled with.
The back and forth between betrayal and trust with Damien, Eden, & Cain are out of this world. I loved that this story didn’t seem so far fetched that it couldn’t happen. Plus it’s all unpredictable!
The author knows how to lead you down one path, thinking Eden is on Cain’s side, to just flip you to Damien’s and vice versa. I’m very happy with how it ended up, but I would’ve loved to have a bit more of an epilogue. I loved it regardless though because what was meant to be… happened.
This book is absolutely amazingly twisted and the turns just keep coming you don’t know who to trust. Then it’s clear who the real bad man is this book has a hell of an ending. Great characters and storyline Highly recommended.
“They say the Devil was once an angel. But no one ever bothered to ask the Devil what led to his downfall, or why he became so evil.”
I stand by what I said in my review for The Devil. It really was a long ass prologue that left you with so many questions that you eventually get answers to in The Devil’s Advocate. Eden came so far from then to now; she became this force that you did not want to f*ck with and that really showed when she realized the devil, she thought she knew was way worse than the devil she didn’t.
The biggest mind f*ck of all with this duet was that everything you thought you knew when starting was wrong. The sheer insanity, twists, and shock factor that Ashley Jade created was everything I want in a book. I want to be deceived and mislead but most of all I want the characters you once wanted to set fire to be the ones you fall for.
That is all you’re getting from me, don’t read the reviews just dive right into The Devil’s Playground because you might find you like it there a lot more than you would think.
Again, be cautious of the trigger/content warnings because while they were more present in book one they are still very much alive in this story.
This sequel picks up after the amazing cliffhanger of the first book and to sum it up:
outrageous ping-pong between psychos with Eden being the ball
CNC and NC smut scenes
rapid plot twists giving me whiplash and keeping me at the edge of my seat
I really liked the story telling, Eden’s arc and the characters’ interactions outside the bedroom. I would have liked more of this and less of the over the top smut though. Also, Eden falling for Damien… talk about unrealistic insta-love.
But all in all, this was a lot of fun! Incredibly entertaining!
You have to read book one before you read this one. With that being said buckle up and enjoy the ride!
Hands down the best book I’ve read this year!
“When they hurt you so much you no longer register pain. You’ll do anything to get your humanity back.”
This book had me on the edge of my f***ing seat, angsty, hot! And I Absolutly loved see Eden come into her own! Just a great duet!
I absolutely loved the conclusion to this story. From beginning to end I was left at the edge of my seat waiting for more. My only complaint is I want more and was not ready for the story to end!
As part two of the Devil’s Playground this one picks up right where the last book (The Devil) leaves off, and thank goodness for that! I went from one right into the other and never stopped reading. Damian, Cain and Eden were characters that drew me in from the start but by the time I was half way through the story I just couldn’t get enough. This dark and twisted tale as one of the best I’ve read in a long time. You won’t regret picking this one up!
Gahhhh
I wish I had the words for what just happened to me. Seriously. Damien, Cain and Eden did something to me. These men are not like others. And Eden, who started out in the shape she did, and transformed into something none of us expected.
Growth. It was evident in certain characters, and amazing to watch.
The wait for this one nearly killed me. But it was sooooo worth it.
This book, this duet, it was all amazing! I refuse to spoil this book for anyone, so I’ll just say that it’s been a while since I’ve read something so original and unpredictable. It is definitely one of my top reads of the year.
Phwoarrrrr, this book!
After devouring the first book I knew instantly that I had to read and devour this book too! Personally, I did prefer The Devil but I think that has a lot to do with the fact that I went into that book blind and it completely took me by surprise.
I knew a little more of what was coming in this one, but nonetheless, I still really enjoyed it!
There’s just something about psychological mind trickery and romance and lust that ties this book together and makes it a thrilling read. A great duet that is super easy to read in one sitting.
These two books were the first I’ve read by Ashley Jade but they will definitely not be the last.
This author blew me away! This duet was the first I have read by this author and wow I need all her books! She can suck you into a story and you won’t let go till the end! this book threw me for a loop at the end and I wasnt sure what was going to happen, Just so great, I love it!
