Summer parties were made for mischief….Miss Felicity Murdoch may be an heiress with a large fortune attached to her, but she is as far from the genteel, respectable sort of lady that most men of the ton would want to marry. Her only hope to find a titled husband—as her father has insisted she much—is to deport herself well at her friend, Lady Caroline Herrington’s, summer house party. But almost … But almost from the start, Felicity is in trouble.
Lord Sullivan Whitlock is desperate to find a bride with money to save his family’s failing estate. He has never been adept in the ways of society, though, and doesn’t know how to woo honorable women. It is love at first sight when he spies Felicity across the room. She is the wickedest wallflower he has ever known.
But what starts out as a fun and passionate flirtation runs into trouble when the nefarious Lord Cunningham seeks to split the two lovers apart. Will the truth win out over deception? Will Felicity and Sully, not to mention Lord Cunningham, get what they deserve?
A light-hearted, fun, SUPER steamy, Regency romp—a quick read, not to be taken too seriously.

“The Devilish Trollop” (nook) was a good story but not one of my favorites by Merry Farmer. I would actually rate this as 3-1/2 Stars.
A house party romp
A house party is the setting for the marriage mart. Felicity has her eye on the one man who grabs her heart. He’s smitten, too, but keeps slipping away. Once Felicity finds out why, he doesn’t stand a chance. Hot and steamy with an hilarious revenge.

by Merry Farmer
Miss Felicity Murdoch is filthy rich and needs a titled husband as per her father’s wishes. What better way than a house party full of titled gentlemen.
Lord Sullivan Whitlock is in a pickle, his finances are in dire straights, he’s looking for a rich bride to replenish the coffers. His best chance is at a house party. He never expected to fall in love at first sight! Felicity isn’t the typical debutante, he’s intrigued and he can’t keep away from her. But as luck would have it a conniving foe stirs the pot and creates trouble for the two lovebirds. Lots of sizzle, whit and humours banter make this a super entertaining read that’s perfect for a quick read!
Merry Farmer really knows how to blend the sizzle with humour. I loved it and really enjoyed the story, the secondary characters were intresting. This is my review, all thought are my own.
very enjoyable read. Bold young woman who set out to get what she wanted – and did. I did like the characters and the story.
A quick and lighthearted read set at a house party at the home of Caro and Rufus of The Clever Strumpet. Caro has invited her three friends Ophelia, Eliza and Felicity to help them find husbands. Few of the guests are introduced to the reader as it’s Felicity’s turn to find a HEA. (We’ll surely meet others later in the series when Ophelia and Eliza meet their matches.) There are some lecherous older lords, and a handsome young viscount in desperate need of Felicity’s wealth. Somewhat predictable, but an interesting bit of just deserts at the end.
I received an advance copy; the thoughts expressed are my own.
A Regency Romp that takes you on a the delightful journey of Miss Felicity Murdoch and her quest for a husband. Attending her dear friend Lady Caro Herrington’s house party (a matchmaking party!) and meeting up with two other of her friends began the adventure. Her father had insisted you find a husband or he would take it into his own hands.
When the ladies went to the parlor to see all the prospects invited Felicity could only exclaim “Good Lord, are we at a house party or livestock auction?” there were dozens of eligible bachlors of all ages and a large number of ladies who were flirting with them!
But when her gaze met with a gentleman across the room, he held her captive with his gaze.
Sullivan Darrow, Viscount Whitlock was desperate. If he could not find a lady to marry with a sizable fortune or his estate would just collapse!
Prepare to smile, need a cool cloth and enjoy this fun story that will keep you captivated until the end!!
Felicity has a reputation, one that she embraces, even if most of it is untrue. She meets Sully, a broke viscount, who needs to marry a woman of needs. Though he want Felicity forever he thinks she is penniless. Felicity knows who has been telling lies about her to Sully. Oh, revenge is so sweet. Sully and Felicity are made for each other. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.
Despite being the heiress to a large fortune, Ms. Felicity Murdoch is far from the genteel, biddable lady most gentlemen wish to marry. Nonetheless, her father has demanded she find a titled husband and her best chance of that is at a summer house party hosted by her friend, Lady Caroline Herrington. Unfortunately, Felicity almost immediately finds herself in trouble.
Lord Sullivan Darrow, Viscount Whitlock, finds himself in rather dire straits and his only recourse to save his crumbling estate and support his mother and sisters is to marry for money. But he has no clue how to woo an eligible lady. When he first spies Felicity across the room, he’s instantly smitten, but when the odious Lord Cunningham seeks to split them up and seek Felicity’s fortune for himself, trouble ensues and it’s a question of whether or not the truth will out for these two lovers.
This was a quick, fun read, not to be taken too seriously, and I loved it. The characters were fabulously endearing and of course there was plenty of steam. I’m definitely looking forward to the next one in this lovely series.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
As the blurb say, this is a light-hearted fun Regency romp. It definitely should not be taken too seriously. Sometimes when I read I need something just for fun and this is the type of story that I like to read. There are steamy parts, humorous parts and some unrealistic parts. A perfect quickie read.
I received a complimentary copy from the author.
