⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐I read the first three books of this series and I loved each one. I had mixed feelings about purchasing this book because I wasn’t sure I could like the Hero. I fell in love with Beau. I loved Milly and together the two made an amazing couple. There were times I worried if they’d ever get it right. I loved this book. It’s a must read and a new favorite.~ Amazon customer review
Miss Sparrow’s lively letters help Beau through his banishment and when his father dies suddenly and Beau inherits the Dukedom, he seeks out his little bird. To his shock he finds a woman in despair and, moved by pity, he offers her the protection of his name by marriage.
But Milly becomes impossible to overlook, and the more Beau needs his wife, the less interested she seems in her gorgeous husband.
For this rake, getting a woman’s attention has never been so complicated.
Warning: This book is liable to contain mild swearing and descriptive sex scenes!
The Rogues & Gentlemen series can be enjoyed as stand-alone regency romance and historical romance novels, or as part of the wider series. If the full series appeals, the suggested – but by no means essential – reading order would be:
•Book 1: The Rogue
•Book 2: The Earl’s Temptation
•Book 3: Scandal’s Daughter
•Book 4: The Devil May Care
•Book 5: Nearly Ruining Mr Russell
•Book 6: One Wicked Winter
•Book 7: To Tame a Savage Heart
•Book 8: Persuading Patience
•Book 9: The Last Man in London
•Book 10: Flaming June
•Book 11: Charity and The Devil
•Book 12: A Slight Indiscretion
•Book 13: The Corinthian Duke
•Book 14: The Blackest of Hearts
•Book 15: Duke and Duplicity
•Book 16: The Scent of Scandal
Happy reading! And please do leave a review if you can – it would mean the world to hear what you enjoyed most about the book.

After reading this I bought the entire series, this’s author is great.
Much better than many romance novels. I loved the fresh take on the genre and the wealth of interesting characters.
Ms. Leech continues to astound us with every book she writes – the common thread that I see in this series is that she addresses most modern day challenges – e.g, introvert, recluse, ADHD, Post Trauma Depression and translates it back to those regency era days where I believe most of the people having these issues would not have been touched with a ten foot pole let alone ended up with a life partner. The stories crafted brings out the relatable characteristics of all the hero/heroines – which frankly brings a tear to my eye when I read these books.
I highly recommend this book & series.
Romance Level: 4/5
Steamy Level: 3.5/5
I like this story very much
Just a really good read.
Love how characters are cast in different lights. Then they come together. Very good writing.
One of this author’s best romances.
Excellent with original characters and an unusual plot!
I loved this book so much, I have read it multiple times!
I could not stop reading! My family have hardly heard a peep from me all day! I barely stopped reading to make lunch!
I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of this story! The perfect development of the characters as they blossomed into the perfect people they should be and the way their relationship bloomed. Just a wonderful story with some perfectly shocking conversations to be had for a perfect chuckle!
Those who have been broken can come back stronger than before when the healing is complete. This book deals with a handicap that can be life threatening if ignored. Ignorance causes misunderstanding. Two of the characters suffered from the same illness. One died and leaves behind a twin who thinks he failed to save his brother. The other one is ridiculed and threatened with being put in bedlam for being “crazy”. Our hero has a chance to right a wrong that he thinks is his fault when he marries our heroine. They end up saving each other and creating a legacy for the future.
Although the entire series is in the KU program, this was the first book that I came across thanks to BookBub. The story line seemed to take similarities of my favorite books and combine them into one. I really like the stories where the heroine seems shy but is really full of spunk. Beau found this mousy woman in the park who he had helped at a previous party and they struck up an unlikely friendship through letters when he was exiled to France due to a scandal (full details in the previous book). I loved getting to know her character through the letters and how, when they reconnected in England, she worked to show Beau that he was more than an one-dimensional rake. This book started me on the series where I skipped a few books ahead and am now so enamored by the characters that I met, I have gone back to Book #1 to read them all in order.
Wonderful love story of two people who really needed each other.
I really enjoyed The Devil May Care. From the beginning, this was one of those books that you just don’t want to put down. The characters felt very real, and the relationship between Beau and Millie was very sweet and organic. I’ve read other books in this series and I love that her main characters appear as minor characters in other stories. I’m looking forward to reading other works by Emma V Leech.
I loved this story! The dashing hero falls for the mousy, bookish girl instead of the beauty queen. I had read a previous book in this series and was delighted to find out what happened with the Marquess of Beaumont!
I really like this author. Her books really hold my interest
great story somewhat surprising
It was a fun read.
I enjoyed Beau’s coming of age from rakedom!
Great characters growing from their shallow reputations into people you are so glad that the end is happily ever after.
