This is a story born in tragedy and powered by revenge.
Currently Francesca Cavendish is on a quest for vengeance against the people who murdered her family and burned down in the Mont Claire massacre. She is cunning, untrusting, stubborn, brave, and will do anything she has to in order to take down the villains she is after. And she does this at the expense of her reputation and her own safety.
The Devil of Dorset goes by many names but he is really a ghost. A spy. A chameleon. A man of many disguises and names. He is currently becoming obsessed and is insanely attracted to Francesca. But he is pretty sure she is not who she says she is and he is determined to uncover the truth. But then no one really knows who he is either.
There is a lot of history fueling these two. They are both set on vengeance. They both have secrets, freely lie, and have varying hidden identities. But some secrets and ommissions may be harder to deal with than others.
But will they find common ground and enough trust to bare their secrets and work to take down a common enemy?
This is a mysterious, suspenseful, steamy, second chance love story. I will admit I was not a fan of all the lying and just wanted to shake them until all their truths were out. They had volatile chemistry, but sometimes I doubted their actual feelings and attachment to each other since they were often so guarded and mysterious. I think part of that had to do with the nature of the relationships that I cannot really talk about since it would be spoilery. I liked him, but he did royally annoy me for a bit and seemed to have a pretty quick shift to rights.
This ties up the stories for these three friends and their new mates and the underlying story of the evil Crimson Council. It brings back the other Red Rogues, Alexandria and Cecilia, and their significant others, Redmayne and Ramsey. They are a wonderful support system especially since Francesca can be impulsive and brave. I think their interactions were actually some of my favorite in the book.

The Devil in Her Bed is the third book in the stunning Devil You Know trilogy by USA Today bestselling author Kerrigan Byrne!
He lives in secret service to the Crown—a man of duty, deception, and an undeniable attraction to a woman who threatens to tear his whole world apart.
They call him the Devil of Dorset. He stands alone, a man of undeniable power. Moving in and out of shadows, back alleys and ballrooms, he is unstoppable and one of the Crown’s most dangerous weapons. However, when he sets his sights on the undeniably beautiful Countess of Mont Claire, Francesca Cavendish, he doesn’t realize that he has met a match like no other.
TRUE LOVE WEARS NO DISGUISE
Francesca is a countess by day and stalks her prey—those responsible for the death of her family—by night. What she does not expect is to be thrown into the path of the devil himself, the Earl of Devlin. She has secrets of her own and he seems determined to lay them bare. Can her heart survive finding the love of her life and losing him when all is revealed?
Will he be able to see in time who is his true love …
I thought the opening scene of How To Love A Duke In Ten Days was dreadful, especially as I have a hatred for all thing rape related, yet here on a different emotional level, the prologue was heart-wrenching, my heart broke for young Pippa.
Francesca is the most enigmatic of the triad composing the Red Rogue Society, she is a conundrum. A woman made of secret upon secret, a woman who shaped herself to become one walking weapon.
Until she meets her equal, a man who raises as much questions as herself.
She presents a facade to world, one she has slowly achieved by misleading everyone to see in her whom she wanted them to. She outsmarts her enemies in letting them believe she is just a fickle creature only interested in the next bed she will hop in. To further deceive everyone until she reaches her only goal, avenge all those she loved who had been robbed of their life, to render justice to the boy she adored from the moment she set her eyes on him.
Chandler is a man of many names and shadows, as time passed, he impersonated any character that might drive him nearer to his target. Now he is getting closer and closer to his finish, he must clear his path and expose everyone on his way.
And the Countess of Mont Claire is a mystery he must solve urgently, how has she risen from the ashes of her home after so many years buried under it. Is she really the woman he never forgot, the one who has lit up his dreams or is she only a fraud.
And who’s better to unmask a deceiver than a man without name.
Their relationship is one of competition and seduction, and she more oft than less bests him at his own game. She is clever and resourceful, not one to give up nor to be given order. She learned to be an unexpected opponent to those who only sought to find a weak creature, she deceives and cheats if necessary but she will not let go of her revenge. She has souls to let to rest, but only once she gave them their deserved peace. This how she deluded men, even Chandler, whom at first only acknowledged her as how she wanted to be seen. Yet as the king of deception, after a time, he realized how wrong he has been about her. Still, will he be able to discover the real Francesca…
Their love affair is one which transcends time and death, if only they give themselves the chance to let it unfold.
I have only one recrimination : Where is my epilogue!!!
I needed one!
There was one in the first book, but not in the second which is linked to this third, so where is it!

What an outstanding, surprising, and at times emotional story. It had a great start that pulled me in like right now. The people were easy to like and care about.
The part about the women who made up the Red Rogues was an interesting part of the story. They had dubbed each other to be like The Three Musketeers, for life. Francesca was one of those bold ladies; probably the boldest of the three. She’d also learned to be tough, shrewd and ruthless when needed. She had to become that way with added physical skills in order to deliver the revenge she was after. She definitely developed into one fierce, little warrior. Someone who was often underestimated because of her gender and her size. This was no brainless “little woman”.
Chandler was quite the mystery in the beginning and at other times throughout. He had so many secrets too. None that I plan on revealing in this review. It’s too good to spoil for other readers. One thing that did become clear as the story went on was that he was after revenge also.
Among some of the other good secondary people was Serena, the Romani woman. She added a lot to the story. She was there in the beginning of the story and I liked the phrase that she used about Chandler and Pippa. She always used to say that Pippa had the soul of dragon and Declan Chandler had the soul of a tiger.
There is plenty of action, and dangers in this story. One of the biggest dangers comes from the “cult” leader of the Crimson Council. He’s one nasty piece of work and that leads into at least one “R” rated scene.
The “romance” was just as unusual as the whole story. I liked how things got worked out after a whole lot of pain and quite a few secrets get exposed. It kept me involved every step of this intense story.
“I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.”
This is the final book in the series, and while I’ve loved these 3 friends and their stories a lot, this one didn’t work for me as well as the others. 3.5 Stars.
Francesca Cavendish, the Countess of Mont Claire, has been hunting for her family’s killers for her entire life. But, she’s also been hiding an even bigger secret (which the reader has already known since book 1): She’s actually Pippa Hargrave, the daughter of the estate’s butler & cook, and the real lone survivor of the massacre at Mont Claire when she was a child. She took on Francesca’s name and title, with help from a friend of her mother’s, in order to have the money and power to find those responsible for the deaths of everyone she loved, and make them pay for it. She’s getting close to all the answers she’s been seeking, when an unexpected player shows up in town and scatters her wits with the attraction between them.
The Devil of Dorset, aka Chandler, is a spy for the Crown. He’s done horrible things, without regret, to rid the realm of monsters of all kinds. But, he’s always been on a personal mission as well, and he’s close to finally bringing the culprits down. Chandler is drawn to Francesca for many reasons, but he doesn’t expect her to have such a profound affect on his life, and his investigation. They find they must work together to bring down those responsible for the crimes against them.
Francesca and Chandler’s chemistry was white-hot, even before either of them really knew who the other was. Francesca has NEVER had a reaction like that to a man before. She’s always been solely focused on her revenge, and what she needed to do to get it. Chandler has always known his service to the Crown precluded him from having a wife or family, so it’s never even crossed his mind before now. They both had to come to terms with their unique connection, and how to use it to their advantage, before it caused them to lose sight of their goals instead.
The Red Rogues, Francesca, Alexandra, and Cecilia, have such a ride-or-die, amazing friendship, and I love them so much. They are what made this series so special, and I could’ve done with more of them in this book. Also, now that Piers and Ramsay are married to Cecilia and Alexandra, respectively, they are part of the gang as well, which was fun to see. I will always appreciate how THERE they all are for each other, through everything that’s ever happened to them in their lives. Anyone would be lucky to have such friends.
I loved the mystery plot of this story, and finally seeing all of Francesca’s investigating starting to bear fruit. But, I think my main issue with this story was the connection between the main characters. Chandler basically thinks Francesca is someone else throughout almost the entire book. That would be bad enough for me personally, because I don’t love it when the characters are constantly lying to each other. But, here it was even worse, and more hurtful to me, because he loved Francesca in childhood, and so it was hard to believe in his connection to this “Francesca”, as she was really Pippa. Pippa had loved Chandler since childhood, and knew all of this, so it hurt her too, every time he brought up something about his feelings for her back then, and Pippa knew he wasn’t really talking about her. Then after the dark moment happens, it was hard for me to see how they could ever really be together after all that had transpired. I also think an epilogue would have really helped with this. I needed to see them together and happy down the road, in order to believe in their HEA a little more I guess?
So, this one didn’t work as well for me as the prior 2 stories, and I’m sad about it. But, I still really love Francesca, and I came to love Chandler too, and I think that others might not have the same issues I had with the story. Overall, I would still highly recommend the series, and most especially my favorite of the stories, book 1!
CONTENT WARNING for on page murder of the main character’s family members when she was a child (in Chp. 1), talk of (off-page) ritualistic child murders (“sacrifices”) within the bad guys’ secret society.
I’ve been looking forward to this last book of the Devil You Know series, featuring the last lady of the Red Rogues trio. It has been revealed in previous books that Lady Francesca Cavendish took on the identity of the real Countess Francesca to seek revenge for both their families. This book started out so strong, and I couldn’t help falling in love with Francesca all over again instantly . Knowing her tragic past, I truly appreciate her motivations, her fierceness, her determination to bring down those who took away her loved ones. She’s trained herself to become a brave, strong, independent woman, and I wanted to give her a standing ovation and yell out “Yes! Way to go, Francesca!” at least a couple times during the book ! And what is tugging at my heartstring is her unrequited love and pining for the boy from her childhood, who happened to love the real Francesca . After the massacre that wiped out their family home, she thought she lost him forever, and her grief for him, for her friends and family has turned into a powerful weapon. I just LOVE Francesca so much! I think she’s my most favorite lady of the trio .
Now, I think the hero does not deserve her ! As the spy for the crown, Chandler has multiple identities and a secret past that is only revealed toward the end. He might have fallen in love with the fake Francesca, but the way he kept telling her that he loved the real one, or at least the memory of her from twenty years ago, made me frustrated . When he found out her true identity, he became cruel to her, and I just wanted to smack him in the head ! I understand her reasons and struggles to keep her secret concealed, but he himself has a fair share of earth shattering skeleton in his closet! His hypocrisy just annoys me .
This book has more dark suspense than the previous two. And I love the way Ms Byrne has built the imaginative world of greed, power, corrupt, cruelty… I also love the close friendship among the three ladies, as well as the protectiveness of their spouses over Francesca. However, I feel like the focus has been shifted away from the romance between Francesca and Chandler, and his declaring his love to her at the end is just not so convincing to me . I also wish to see the three couples reunited for an epilogue. But if you love more suspense for your romance, this book is perfect for you! You can always trust Ms Byrne to give you steamy hot scenes and great plot twists!

Extraordinary story, absolute MUST READ!
From the truly terrifying opening prologue to the cried-real-tears HEA, this story moved me, captivated me, thrilled me, and left me with a huge book hangover that made me wonder when I’ll be ready to face the real world again. Dynamic writing combined with intensely personal drama and fascinating characters elevate this story far above the usual historical romance.
This is the story of Pippa and Declan, of Francesca and Chandler, of history and childhood and love and innocence and family and evil so vile that only the devil himself can conquer it. Despite the multitude of names, it’s a story of just two people who know each other even when they have no idea who the other truly is. Our story starts with Chandler knowing who Francesca is, then she finds out who he is to her. Then she finds out who he really is, only for him to then find out who she really is. I promise you, though, that the story is not at all confusing, just filled with love and longing and the kind of passion that takes down empires. Francesca is as fierce a woman as I’ve ever read, and Chandler is her perfect match in every possible way.
As the culmination of the trilogy with the Red Rogues, this story does wrap up all the hints we were given in the earlier books about Francesca and even Chandler, but it is a standalone romance just like the previous two are. Even so, both Alexandra and Cecelia, and their men, figure prominently in this story, as we would expect them to as they support Francesca in finally getting her revenge.
The imagery used in this book is astounding: the dragon and the tiger, the fire and water, are all threaded throughout the book in the most fascinating way possible. The letter from the Hargraves was so poignantly used as both fuel and balm, reminding us of the shattering effects of unintended consequences and just how fragile life really is.
There is plenty of humor and stand-up-and-cheer moments throughout, especially Francesca’s speech that causes Ramsey to recognize the dragon in her. The final declaration of love at the end, in the ruins, was as heartbreaking as a HEA can possibly be. If you don’t tear up even a little then you don’t have a heart. Rest assured, though that there is a very satisfying, blissfully happy happily-ever-after, but it comes at a cost of a lifetime of trauma and tragedy.
Even though I’ve read all three, this series is going to the top of my re-read list so I can binge-read them all again. This is the very best in historical romances and I highly recommend the entire series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Childhood friends torn apart by tragedy. One takes the identity of her friend in order to get revenge. One takes on many identities as a spy. Francesca, really Pippa, has trained hard and gives everyone the perception that she sleeps around, Declan is the master of disguise and has been keeping an eye on his old friend Francesca without her knowledge. Once Francesca figures it out she kicks his butt. Declan is so focused on his childhood fantasy of being in love with Francesca that he doesn’t realize she is really Pippa the one who truly cared for him. As they get revenge for those who took everone from them they fall in love but when Declan finds out she is really Pippa he acts like a fool. They may be over before they have a chance to be together forever. I received a copy via Netgalley and my review is voluntary.
What a wonderful Story. It is full of pain, loneliness, and sadness. Pippa’s parents were the butler and the cook. Serena was a Romani woman who helped give them their daughter. Declan Chandler was an orphan and they had taken him into their hearts. Then there is the Cavendish family, Francesca, and Ferdinand. Ferdie saw about twenty men coming down the drive and not stopping. Ferdinand went down the drive to welcome them and they trampled him. They then went, after Pippa and Francesca, who were headed inside to tell her parents people were coming. . They killed everyone in the house and stables and then burnt it down.
They killed everyone in the house and stables and then burnt it down. Pippa’s family was killed and Declan helped get her out. She was shot in the leg, Serena found her and told her Declan had been shot in the back. So the two girls ran. It was very dramatic and cruel. They never had a chance, It was an exciting and teary tale. There was some great action and the characters are marvelous. It keeps you on your toes but this is a Kerrigan Byrne book and she would never give you anything but the best. It was easy to read and had some surprises for you. I loved where she goes to the other two of her friends of the Red Rogues and tells them her tale. Even their husbands try to support her. I highly recommend this great novel. I could not put it down.
I received this ARC from Net Galley and voluntarily reviewed it.
The third installment in the Devil You Know series was as good as the other two. It’s a story of loss and revenge and two hearts that are meant for each other; without knowing it. This was Francesca Cavendish’s story. Cecilia Teague and Lady Redmayne make appearances throughout; but this is all about learning Francesca’s back story and what drives her. Francesca, Frank to the other Red Rogues, is a force to be reckoned with. For twenty years she has trained, gathered data and searched for those responsible for the deaths of her family and friends. Finally, she is starting to see the results of so much time and energy. She hopes to be able to remove the head of the snake; so no one else ever has to feel the pain and anguish in seeing those you love killed, and your home burned to the ground. Frank also has a deep secret that only the other Red Rogues know about. Now that the others have found their life mates; she is beginning to feel like a third wheel and not a part of the whole. Once her revenge is exacted; what will she do with herself? All her life has been spent trying to attain this one goal. Will she succeed? A wrench is thrown into the mix when a key player is arrested by the Secret Service and Frank hasn’t had the opportunity to interrogate/investigate him; as she has others, in the Crimson Council.
This is a story with intrigue/mystery, sex (yes, there a a few sex scenes), love, discovering one’s self, revenge, and redemption. The characters are well defined. I enjoyed it very much and found the writing style flowed well and kept me engaged the entire time. The main focus of the story is on the characters so there isn’t a lot of descriptive fill regarding the surroundings and “scenery” unless it pertains to the actions taking place.
After seeing her family and friends murdered Lady Francesca Cavendish, Countess of Mont Claire has lived her life for revenge. She’s out to bring down the Crimson Council at all costs working at night to find their secrets. She unknowingly encounter an agent for the crown the Devil of Dorset, he’s quite the enigma no really knows who he is. He’s become quite intrigued by Francesca, why is she placing herself in danger with these dangerous men. Every encounter he finds himself more drawn to the beautiful and alluring woman who is in the middle of his investigation. A captivating story as they’re drawn deeper into the cult and their lives are at stake. Can they bring the Crimson Council to justice before they’re captured and killed for knowing too much? I love the strong female character Francesca she’s his equal in every way, she never backs down from a confrontation, she meets danger head on with the help of her two friends. I have voluntarily read and reviewed the excellent book.
Every time I start a Kerrigan Byrne book I don’t want to put it down and then it is finished too soon. I have always been a Historical Romance fan, and Kerrigan is one of the best. The Devil of Dorset and Francesca are complex characters that have a lot of secrets. Both are in pursuit of a murderer that changed their individual lives in profound ways when they were very young. Both thought the other dead. Now they are in the fight for their lives and for a love that neither thought would ever be possible.
Kerrigan is a master at crafting characters that are intriguing and mysterious and do not let social strictures get in the way of what they want. Both are stubborn and refuse to give an inch even if it could mean they might die in their quest for vengeance. Add in mind-blowing danger and sizzling passion and you have a love story with everything you could wish for.
The Devil You Know Series is my personal favorite and I guarantee that you will love it too!! This story is a great stand-alone book, but I recommend you read the whole series.
Known by many names, the so-called Devil of Dorset is an enigma even to those who know him. A skilled spy, he is one of the Crown’s most lethal weapons but in Francesca Cavendish, the Countess of Mont Claire, he may have found someone who can match him.
Francesca uses her position in society to bring herself ever closer to the secret group responsible for the deaths of every member of her family. She’s worked toward this goal for years but is unprepared to catch the eye of the truly evil Earl of Devlin. She has her own secrets to keep and may be in over her head here, but she’s not prepared to find the love of her life alive again, or accept his help, especially when the truth will likely drive him away.
This book was very much a mixed bag for me. I loved the concept and Chandler made for an excellent and many-layered tortured hero, but Francesca was rather a let down as a heroine. Chandler’s pain was actually rather worse than hers all told, but she fell into the trap of believing herself to be the only person with a truly painful past, or at least that’s how she came across. Francesca was quick to believe any disagreement she encountered was merely derived from a man underestimating her because she was a woman. Of course, this was not always the case and because of this arrogance, a criminal was able to escape imprisonment and she nearly ruined a raid set to bring down the corrupt secret society she’d been hunting, all because she had zero faith in Chandler, or anyone else for that matter, to do their jobs better than she could, despite their superior experience. This just struck me as hubris, especially since she kept repeating this behavior and never learned and it made her difficult to like. Despite this, Francesca’s plight was one I could get behind and I rooted for her success, but her determination to do everything alone meant she got in her own way more often than not.
What really got me though was that Francesca’s intended portrayal as a strong heroine just showed her to be more akin to a playground bully, responding with violence to anything with which she disagreed. At one point she even punches Chandler in the face after an intimate, loving encounter devolves into a rather minor argument. He excuses her by reasoning that she held back and wasn’t really trying to hurt him, but for me this is still domestic violence, and it wouldn’t be ok if he’d hit her that way so it’s not acceptable for her to do so to him. These aspects of Francesca’s character made it hard to believe she actually loved Chandler and their truth revelation was a long time in coming and then caused the third act separation that I’m just not a fan of. This was not helped by the fact that Chandler spent nearly the entire book believing himself reunited with his childhood love and that was a large pillar of their relationship.
Given Francesca’s contempt for all men, even her best friends’ husbands, her rapidly rekindled love for Chandler felt just a bit insincere. I was incredibly invested in the suspense aspect here and in Chandler’s backstory. I loved this concept, but the romance was a bit lacking, especially since these two came together like crashing waves and their relationship remained quite volatile rather than really becoming sweet. That worked for them; however, it just wasn’t that romantic and I wish Chandler had gotten a bit more recognition and acknowledgement of his pain from Francesca. Overall, this book gave me mixed feelings, but I did enjoy the story and would say it’s not to be missed.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Blog link: https://mustreadalltheromance.blogspot.com/2021/02/the-devil-in-her-bed-by-kerrigan-byrne.html
4.5 Stars!
The Devil in Her Bed was a fantastic ending in the Devil You Know trilogy. This book was the near perfection I felt when reading the first book in the series, but for completely different reasons. First, it gave me a favorite heroine. Who knew that would be Francesca? One of the best! Matched with my favorite secondary character from the previous book and it was couple perfection. Some of their scenes were reminiscent of Pitt/Jolie’s, Mr. and Mrs. Smith and it had me grinning from ear to ear. I absolutely loved their verbal and hand-to-hand tête-à-têtes. As well as a little knife and pistol action. Francesca could truly hold her own against the Devil of Dorset.
What also made this a delicious read:
– the slow burn
– the duplicity (what I knew, but they didn’t)
– the romantic tension
– the capable and intelligent heroine
– the dark and resilient hero
– and the many tender revelations
Per usual, there were some darker elements to this story in addition to the grim, stage-setting prologue. Although, the prologue wasn’t a surprise, since Francesca’s back story was alluded to in the previous books. It was the rather sick and twisted Crimson Council that took an even crazier turn as this book wrapped up the mystery and machinations behind the group.
I’m convinced that Byrne had simply been biding her time with the first two books, revealing subtle hints to this finale, while refining and finessing these characters to give her readers the story they’ve been waiting for. I truly hope this isn’t the last we see of this couple. In the very least, cameos in a crossover series.
“That Declan Chandler has the soul of a tiger,” Serena said. “And you, Pip, have that of a dragon.”
I fell in love with the beginning of this story. It was tender, intense, angsty, heartbreaking and fast paced. The beginning set this story up beautifully, and I was so excited for the story to unfold.
Disguised as Francesca Cavendish, Pippa Hargrave is set out to venge the deaths of her family and friends. Her disguise is important not only for her revenge, but for her own safety. I loved her strength and fiery spirit.
Sadly though, the middle of the book lagged a bit. It was slow-moving, and at times, lost my attention. And while overall, I loved our hero, I struggled with the Devil of Dorset’s interest and love for Francesca. For the majority of the book, he thought she was someone else, and when he finds out her truth, he becomes enraged and hypocritical about her secrets.
With the end of the book, Kerrigan brought my interests back to life. Ramsey’s interaction with Chandler brought back the feelings the beginning made me feel.
Where I once disliked Historical Romances, they’ve quickly become my favorite, and Kerrigan Byrne is a favorite author in this genre.
Wow, this was not what I was expecting.
Francesca was one tough, original heroine, unlike any I’ve read before. She had set before her a plan and she wouldn’t let anything stop her from it. The things that she did were quite unique for a woman of this era, and I did struggle some with her choices and actions. But in the end, she won me over as she proved everything she did was for those she had loved and lost.
Chandler also exhibited some unique qualities although they were more fitting for the time. He was intensely protective of Francesca and that protectiveness grew exponentially the closer they became. He did react at one point in a way that made me want to smack him, but he totally redeemed himself and I, like Francesca, forgave him.
This has a lot of drama and angst with just as much mystery and danger. I never knew what was going to happen next. Each few pages something happened that kept me fully engaged and refusing to close the book. The surprises just kept coming and I was breathless with shock and awe with each one.
While this takes place in the latter 1800s, I did feel that there were times when the story felt much more modern. That did distract from the overall feel and depth of the story for me, but I still enjoyed it and was overall very satisfied.
Wow, this book is a great finish to this series. I have read book two but need to go back and read the first book. If you have read any of this series you will re-visit the Red Rogues and other character from books one and two. If you haven’t read any of the series please read the other books first. You will get so much more out of the story.
Francesca Cavendish, The Countess of Montclaire is a fraud. She has spent most of life living as someone else. She does this to right the horrible killing of her whole household when she was young.
She lost almost every one she loved in one night. Only Serana the healer is with her now.
She acts the part of the Countess by day and at balls but by night she is using whoever she can to get revenge for her family and stop those who caused it. She doesn’t care what the ton says or about her reputation. Whatever she must do to get information she will do. She has trained to be strong and with her intelligent she is a force not to be missed with.
He is known as the Devil of Dorset, also The Earl of Devlin and a ton of other names. He has a dark, tortured past. He is the spy England calls to do the job when no one else can or will. He is powerful and at ease both in Ballrooms and back alleys. He works in shadows fighting to right the worst of evil .
He thought he lost the one girl he was attracted to as a boy. He has kept her memory close to his heart over the years as the one good thing in his life. The truth and one’s memory are not always correct. Then she is back! He is sure she is an imposter.
As they meet and find out who the other is, both remember the terrible night they lost so much.
This story has everything a Kerrigan’s book are known for. Tons of suspense, steamy scenes that will make you squirm, and unforgettable characters.
What both Declan and Francesca have been through but it’s now over yet. Will it pull them together or split them forever?
Can they find what they really need and want without hurting the other?
The ending is absolutely perfect for this series and this book. I just can’t say enough great thing about this book except grab a copy and get started.
I received and ARC from the author and wish to thank her. This is my honest opinion and am freely giving it. I will read any book with Kerrigan’s name on it because I know I will not be disappointed.
This is the first book by this author that I have read. It grabbed me on the first page and me turning the page till the end. Although this is the third and final book in the series, I didn’t feel the need to have read the other books to know what was going on. I loved the hero and heroine for their strength and determination to bring down a very sinister group. I only gave this book a rating of 3 because of the F word continually being used which was the one thing that put me off fully enjoying this book. I understand that these characters are tough but for me, it was a little too much to continually be reading it and I don’t know if it is accurate for the time. If this and a few sex scenes don’t bother you, I am sure you will love it. This reviewer skipped the sex scenes as usual and it didn’t affect my enjoyment of the book. I received this book as an ARC and freely give my review.
I loved the ending to the series! Francesca had a secret she trusted no one with her 2 best friends with, and Chandler was the boy she fell in love with. The story kept me involved until the very end. Francesca would stop at nothing, including her own death, to learn the truth about her families death. Watching the lengths both of them went to was riviting! And in the end, I think the ghosts of their pasts were at peace with their decisions! Thank you for the advanced copy of this story, it was truly a wonderful ending to the series!
A Spicy Suspense-Filled Historical Romance
“The Devil in Her Bed” by Kerrigan Byrne
Yes, to this readers eyes this is a spicy story, but I persevered because that is what I do when I am reading a really good story. There was never a dull moment. I am sure you will enjoy the journey of Pipa and the Devil of Dorset as they vanquish the ghosts of their childhood and grow into the people they truly are. This is book three of the “Devil You Know” trilogy; but it can be read and thoroughly enjoyed as a stand-alone read. By the way, you may want to read books 1 and 2, if you have not already, as they were very good reads, too. Happy Reading ! !
Note I received an ARC of this story from the publisher. This review is my honest opinion.
The Devil in Her Bed (Devil You Know, #3) by Kerrigan Byrne
Francesca Cavendish ( Countess of Mont Claire) and Chandler (The Devil of Dorset) have a past and now a present with a common enemy. This is a tragic story with all the angst, terror, mystery, heartache, tears, wit and steam to get us to a HEA. There are old friends from the two previous books in this series… HOW TO LOVE A DUKE IN TEN DAYS and ALL SCOTT AND BOTHERED. I strongly recommend that you read them all.
