The Devil In Her Bed will most definitely make you cry for the characters and all they went through, but it’ll also make you smile at how they persevere, how they grow and adapt, how they fight – and how they fall in love. You’ll truly believe their love was meant to be.
Chandler and Francis each have really dark secrets carried over from their youth, but they’ve kept those secrets for the very best of reasons: vengeance.
I cheered for them both throughout. I was awed by Francis’s strength and Chandler’s resilience. Dark, gritty, intense, sexy, and so full of suspense you’ll hold your breath through a few scenes. I believe this wraps up “The Devil You Know” series and I can’t wait to see what Kerrigan Byrne has out next!
The Devil in Her Bed by Kerrigan Byrne is the last book in the Devil You Know trilogy! This is the long awaited book of Francesa Mont Claire and the most fierce and serious of the Red Rogues.
What a way to begin a story! The first chapter of this novel will hit you with a punch so very full of emotion. Finally, we get all the grim details of what happened to Francesa all those years ago. Now, her sole mission is to seek revenge for the slaying of her family.
The Devil of Dorset, also known as Chandler is a man with many secrets and identities. He’s lured and captivated by Lady Francesa and as the story unfolds we soon discover that Chandler is someone important from Francesa’s past.
The final book was different from the two previous ones. There was a lot of conflicting moments between Francesa and Chandler that I wish were resolved earlier on. I was also hoping for more of an epic ending to the illusive Crimson Council so that I could see what the future held for these ladies.
The Devil in Her Bed was filled with twists, turns, and some shocking moments. So much chemistry between the main characters kept this book utterly steamy. The stories regarding these fierce women have embedded themselves in my heart. A great historical romance suspense series you do not want to miss!!
OH MY GOODNESS!!!! THIS BOOK! I knew Francesca’s book was going to be intense, but I had no idea what I was in for!

We finally get Francesca’s story. Francesca has been the strongest and fiercest of the Red Rogues but we have only seen glimpses of her dark history. Francesca is strong, outspoken, intelligent, and unapologetic. She is who she is and will not be shamed for it. I LOVED HER! She is an amazing heroine! She has one focus, taking down the people that killed her friends and family. Alexandra, Cecelia and their significant others are here to help Francesca exact her revenge. But it is the Devil of Dorset that will be the instrumental to this story.
The Devil of Dorset is on a singular mission, taking down the Crimson Council. The Devil can become anyone and has made deception his life and an art form. He is a spy, an assassin and when he is sent on a mission someone will usually die. As his investigation into the Crimson Council continues, he begins to cross paths with Lady Francesca and for the first time in his life, he is intrigued by someone. But can he trust her?
The Devil needs to know what Francesca is up to and the ruses begin. Both on the same mission, but both so distrustful they can’t let the other in. So many secrets, so many lies, so many deceptions. What will happen when the truth finally comes out?
The Devil in Her Bed, is an incredibly suspenseful historical romance. The twists, turns and secrets kept me guessing through the entire book. This book had me captivated from the heartbreak and destruction in chapter one all the way to the HEA.
The Devil in Her Bed is an original, suspenseful, edge of your seat romance with fascinating characters you can’t help but root for and I simply loved it! I fell in love with all three Red Rogues, and their stories and this book / series gets all my recommendations!
The devil in her bed by Kerrigan Byrne is probably my favourite historical romance book from the last few years. I love this book so much and Francesca is my favourite heroine ever. Her strength but also sensible side, had me crying for her at times but also wanting to hug her and cheer her out loud.
The chemistry, the banter and all the emotions and suspense in this story kept me up all night and I never wanted to let them go.
If you are going to read a historical romance story this year, choose this one and you won’t be disappointed.
The Devil in Her Bed brings two friends back together after tragedy and loss. The Devil of Dorset is a ghost in the shadows, able to become anyone, and one of the top spies for the crown. Childhood tragedy has set the devil on a mission of revenge and a little pretender is in his way. Francesca Cavendish has played fast and loose with her reputation to gain access to the men in power of dark cult and she will have her own revenge. An undeniable attraction, leaves the devil and the temptress crossing paths full of danger and secrets as they find their way to a HEA. Action packed and full of sin, this book is a page turning, action packed adventure of a historical romance. My voluntary, unbiased review is based upon a review copy from Netgalley.
I am so glad to finally get Francesca’s story!! We’ve been getting hints of who she really is and what she’s been doing all these years, and now we get the full story.
The beginning of the book is heartbreaking to read what happened on the Mont Claire estate when Francesca was just a young girl. It was a terrible tragedy to suffer and live through, so I totally understand what she has dedicated her life to all these years. I am very glad she had her two best friends with her along the way.
Declan Chandler was quite something. Or I should say Chandler Alquist, or pick any one of the various aliases he want by. He works for the Secret Service, which really was the perfect cover for him. He took down unsavory characters for the Queen, and behind the scenes searched for answers to the very same questions Francesca had.
I admit I have been waiting all this time for the Crimson Council to be revealed, and when it finally was, I was surprised to find out the connections that both Chandler and Francesca had to it. I thought there would be more of a dramatic ending to that evil organization, but when it did happen, it just kind of happened off page, so I feel like I missed out on that whole treacherous thing we’ve been following for three books now.
We’ve got all three ladies’ stories now, so I’m not sure if there is more books to come. There absolutely could be, as I feel like there is so much more story to tell for the Red Rogues. Perhaps we’ll get future books for their children? That would be fun too!!
Many thanks to St. Martin’s Press for providing me with an advanced review copy of this book in advance for my honest and unbiased review.
The Devil in Her Bed is the third and final book in Kerrigan Byrne’s exciting Devil You Know series. NOOOOOOOO! I’m not ready to let the “Red Rogues” and their possessive men go yet! Ms. Byrne is know for her strong female characters and tortured heroes, and in this installment we have the strongest and most tortured of the series. Of the three, this book is possibly the most brutal and steamy. Despite the fact I didn’t particularly like our heroine throughout most of the story, I still loved this book and really couldn’t put it down.
Throughout his life, Chandler has been known by many names: Declan Chandler, the Devil of Dorset, and by a large group of other identities named after infamous pirates. He is, after all, a spy in the Secret Service to the Crown. While looking for evidence to bring down the evil criminal organization Crimson Council, he is irresistibly drawn to the lovely Countess of Mont Claire, Francesca Cavendish. He may have met his match in this strong woman. Francesca may be a countess, but by night she seeks vengeance on those who murdered her family and the boy she loved when she was a young child. Sparks ignite between the tortured spy and the kickass countess. But can a relationship be built upon all the secrets Chandler and Francesca keep from each other?
All Scot and Bothered (book 2 of the series starring Cecelia and Ramsay) is still my favorite, but this volume was extremely compelling and unputdownable. The murderous group Crimson Council was quite over-the-top – think The Hellfire Club on steroids – but still made for a great nefarious organization around which to base the plot. But it was the characters who really drove the story. As I mentioned, I did not particularly like Francesca. She was like a Victorian version of Catwoman; she could kick the butt of almost any man and was familiar with all sorts of self-defense moves. I didn’t care for the way she sometimes treated her dearest friends (“either help me or get out of my way!”) and attempted to bully men. She didn’t think anything of punching the man she was falling for in the face! I did warm up to her closer to the end of the story when it appeared she realized she could be both a strong AND caring woman. Chandler I loved from the start, as I have a particular affection for tortured heroes. He seemed to have a troubled existence even before he met the Cavendish family, never mind as an adult. He was a spy for so long it was almost as if he had no identity of his own. I loved that he wasn’t threatened by Francesca being so dominating; in fact, it seemed to rather turn him on! The heat between Chandler and Francesca almost caused the pages (or e-reader, if you prefer) to catch on fire. It was that hot. Of course, I loved revisiting the Red Rogues and their men. Ramsay, especially, holds a place in my heart. This was a doozy of an ending for this series. I can’t wait to see what Kerrigan Byrne comes up with next!
I received an ARC of this book courtesy of the publisher and NetGalley. I received no compensation for my review, and all thoughts and opinions expressed are entirely my own.
I enjoyed this third book in Kerrigan Byrne’s Devil You Know series as much as the previous two. Each of the Red Rogues comes with heaps of emotional baggage, and Francesca is no different.
Ms. Byrne is a superb storyteller, and she really knows how to wring emotion from her characters. Pippa and Declan went through hell as children, and their journey to the present when they meet each other again is full of twists and turns and danger. The chemistry between the principal characters is hot, hot, hot, and they really deserved their happy ever after.
I highly recommend this book and the rest of the series.

“I want you. I’ve always wanted you…Whatever souls are made of, yours and mine are the same…”
Francesca Cavendish, Countess of Mont Claire, has been plotting her revenge against those that killed her friends, her family and her first love. The secrets of the Crimson Council are about to come to light, and Francesca will finally have her vengeance. But there is just one snag to her plan…the Devil of Dorset also has plans of his own to bring the Crimson Council to their knees, and he’s not about to let Francesca deter him off course…even if she is the one person he’s loved above all others and perhaps the only being that could be the balm to soothe his darkened soul. But when lies and truths start blurring together and secrets long thought buried are dug up, Francesca and her Devil will have to come to terms with their past if they want any chance of a future…
The Devil in her Bed is the conclusion to the Red Rogues trilogy. Yes, yes, I understand it’s the Devil you Know series, but I prefer to think of these stories as three friends that forged a bond so strong it allowed them to defy all odds in order to find their happily ever after. Alex’s story was my fav and if you’ve not read, go forth and one click! While I loved Francesca’s bad ass persona, I found myself a little disappointed in her hero.
Personally, I was having a hard time with Chandler’s character throughout the book. At times he acted like a petulant child having a temper tantrum when things were not going his way, and it felt as if he was always trying to put Francesca in “time out”. And when her secret is revealed, he completely goes off the deep end, and if I was her, I’d have kicked his ass to the curb. Bye, bye, bye! But, that’s me…
Byrne’s romances are always a must read, and while this wasn’t my fav, it was still a satisfying tale filled with intrigue, vengeance and passion. Would recommend to fans of this genre!

ARC received via Netgalley for an honest review
This was a great conclusion to the Red Rogues/Devil You Know series.
We learn more of Frank/Francesca’s childhood, and how her actions now stem from them.
And we have met the Devil of Dorset in the earlier books, but wow how their stories intertwined.
I loved the bickering and banter between this pair, but sheesh, could someone tell the truth at some stage. I was waiting for the shoe to drop and was wondering what reactions would be.
I loved seeing more of the Rogues and their dashing men.
I look forward to what Ms Byrne brings us next.
Third In the Devil you know series. Love Kerrigan Bryne. Liked this book more then the second All Hot and Bothered but not as good as the first How to love a Duke in 10 days. But still a great series .
Kerrigan Byrne is one of my favorite historical romance writers. Her heroines are complex, her heroes subversive, and she is not afraid to defy the expectations of a subgenre that can often constrain the types of characters that can be depicted.
I received an eARC of The Devil in her Bed quite unexpectedly. I’d read the first two installments and find the story flows better when considered against the backdrop of the larger trilogy.
Francesca’s story was always teased throughout the previous books as compelling and this book proves this true. There is a real payoff in all the world and relationship building from the first books, and all the friendships that came to fruition in this book.
Francesca is out for revenge and won’t be stopped. She’s a formidable adversary against Lords, Assassins, and her friend’s husbands and it is thrilling to see a historical lead so fully in her power.
The mystery surrounding the male lead is compelling and speaks to why he has been watching over Francesca, and what he wants from her. The slow-burn is really slow, but delicious for the expectation it creates. When it’s resolved, it’s explosive and very satisfying.
Excellent, modern sensibility in the guise of the beloved historical romance. Well-done!
Yes, like a broken record, I can only say “Wow!” Kerrigan Byrne delivers what she does best… dark secrets, three dimensional characters who put on several faces and seem to play many roles, suspense and surprises around every corner… and a journey to light and love.
Fast paced with scenes of murder, villains, lies and everything imaginable bring Chandler and Francesca full circle to keep you on the edge of your seat! Not to be missed!
The Devil in Her Bed is the third book in the series about the Red Rogues, 3 BBFs since they were the “misfits” in the girls school they were sent to. This is Francesca’s story.
While Serana, her mentor, her friends and even their “other halves” know her true identity, everyone else believes that she is Countess of Mont Claire, Francesca Cavendish, temptress extraordinaire. Chapter One reveals that she is actually Pippa Hargrave, daughter of the butler and the lone survivor of the Mont Claire Massacre. Through the years, Serana has been her mother, teacher and friend, guiding her to become Francesca so she could seek revenge on those that killed her family and friends.
She believes that the Crimson Council was behind the massacre, so she drugs her lovers to learn their secrets and is helping Lord Chief Justice, Cassius Ramsey, Celia’s fiancee find the triad who lead the Crimson Council. However, enters the spy, The Devil of Dorset, who thinks she is a fraud. She knew him as Declan Chandler, one of her playmates, who she had loved from the first time she saw him. He saved her life once. She convinces him that she really is Francesca. Can she trust him to tell the truth? He has his own secrets.
Wonderful characters, intrigue, danger are all found on the pages of this book.
I read an ARC that I received from NetGalley.com. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.
Kerrigan Byrne writes lyrical, poetic romances! And they are SIZZLING hot. Also a bit of intrigue thrown in! Chandler is a slightly Alpha hero — Francesca the woman in love with him since they were children. SECOND CHANCE. It’s dazzling and dreamy.
Kerrigan Byrne The Devil in Her Bed
The first chapter pulls you in but then the story dragged until about halfway. I kept rechecking when is this story taking place.
Another gripping, suspenseful and sensual story by Kerrigan Byrne. Francesca and Chandler were undeniable, passionate, ruthless and made for each other. I loved that Francesca was Chandler’s match in every way. This was a page-turning read full of great characters and dialogue and a fast moving plot. It does not disappoint.
I’ve been on a bit of a historical romance kick recently – it’s pure escapism for me. I’d never read Kerrigan Byrne but had heard good things, so I took advantage of the chance to get an ARC of The Devil in Her Bed. The good news was that I was approved. The bad news was that I hadn’t read the first two books in this series (trilogy?). So I decided to read the first two books before reading this one, and I’m so glad I didn’t miss the foundation stories for this one. There’s the deeper explanation of what happened to Francesca when she was a child – we know she lost her home and family in a fire, but we learn much more about that incident, one which forged her into an incredibly strong, capable woman who has dedicated her life to finding out who was behind that fire.
Into her life comes The Devil – a man of many names and faces who’s also investigating the Crimson Council, the group she suspects of being behind the deaths of her family and friends. There’s a history between them that neither suspects. And there’s a lot of “big” – big chemistry, big stubbornness, big overarching sinister plot from the first two books. And of course in the end – big love.
I’m glad I read them – in order – and I’m looking forward to reading a lot more of Kerrigan Byrne now that I’ve had such an excellent introduction.
My thanks to Netgalley and St. Martin’s Press for providing a copy for an unbiased review.
This is the third book in the Devil You Know series. I’ve loved all the books but Francesca’s had, by far, the most twists and shocking revelations! I admit, the prologue had me a bit confused at first. But, by the end, you knew “oh, that’s where this is headed.”
Francesca is definitely not a damsel in distress to be saved by Chandler. She’s a fierce warrior who knows exactly what she wants.
It didn’t seem like there were any characters we would see in future books of this series so, I don’t know if this was just a trilogy. I hate to see the Red Rogues go.
This is 5 stars!!!
THE DEVIL IN HER BED is Kerrigan Byrne’s 3rd book of The Devil You Know series, an angsty, romantic suspense. He is known as the Devil of Dorset, a spy, the Crown’s most dangerous and unstoppable weapon. When he sets his sights on the undeniably beautiful Countess of Mont Claire, Francesca Cavendish, he doesn’t realize that he has met a match like no other. Francesca is a countess by day but stalks her prey—those responsible for the death of her family at nights. Each has secrets that could tear them apart. Kerrigan Byrne’s stories are filled with strong-willed women and powerful alpha men who loved them. THE DEVIL IN HER BED is a compelling story filled with intrigue, enthralling characters, and a twisted plot. A fabulous read you don’t want to put down.
