Sometimes we must let go of what was, appreciate what remains and fearlessly embrace what comes next.“Bas”Born to a family of outlaws, I was destined to ride with the Satan’s Knights MC. With mayhem and havoc in my blood and chaos living deep in my soul, I learned the Devil don’t sleep. You never hear him creeping and he often comes disguised as everything you ever wanted.I was just teenager when … was just teenager when he first showed, masquerading as the girl of my dreams. A whiskey shootin’ spitfire who knocked me on my ass and helped me turn the town upside down. The girl who stole my heart with her smile and never gave it back. The same bitch who ruined me and turned my blood to ice.
It’s been six years since I turned my back on Mac, my family and my club. I’ve pushed her to the back of my head, wrote everyone off and damned the Kentucky charter to hell. But, where God built a church, the Devil built a chapel.
Now, her life is on the line and its clear I’m still a sucker for her gorgeous chaos because I’m the one riding to her rescue.
“Mac”
I often dreamed what it would be like to stare into Bas’s blue eyes again. To hear his raspy voice whisper his love for me and feel his strong arms around me. After all, it’s always been in his embrace that I felt the safest.
In my dreams, he abolishes my sins and forgives me for breaking both our hearts.
But this is no dream.
I’m running from a nightmare and the one running with me, looks at me with enough anger to burn the world to ash.
Once upon a time, we were in love.
Once upon a time, it was us against the world.
Once upon a time, he didn’t look at me and see the Devil.
If only he knew the truth.
If only he knew the Devil was a broken angel with tattered wings.
An angel who sacrificed her heart and soul for him.

Janine has done it again!!! Each book she writes gets better and better.
Bas and Mac are given a second chance can they make it through all the baggage they have? Can Bas keep her safe? Will he be able to get past what happened before?
I love Janine’s writing and look forward to the next book!
I’m a real sucker for a second chance love story and Janine Infante Bosco created a doozy when she wrote The Devil Don’t Sleep. It was full of angst, drama-filled, painful, and as usual from this author, full of so much heart.
At one time, Bas and Mac were two peas in a pod. You couldn’t see one without the other because they were virtually attached at the hip. They were so in love that they never envisioned a future that didn’t include the other, but hidden agendas and spiteful machinations tear this couple apart. Fast forward some years, Mac’s life is in danger and Bas feels responsible for her safety. But he’s now part of the Satan’s Knights and getting their help with her protection means laying claim to the woman who broke his heart. Luckily for Mac, Bas is willing to lay down his life for the only woman who has owned him, the only woman he has ever loved.
I don’t know if I’ll ever get over her.
If I’ll ever stop running after her, to her or from her.
If I’ll ever stop giving a damn. – Bas
There was so much to love about this book, such as Bas. Man, I felt so bad for him. That prologue really set the tone of the book and had my heart breaking all over the place. And then it only made me hate Mac for pretty much the whole book. I was yelling at her, hating on her, and generally sending her bad vibes for most of this story. She’d say some ish to make herself out to be a victim and I’d scream.
All these years, I tried not to think about where he was or what he was doing. If he was happy or if he had met someone. As selfish as it sounds, I didn’t want to think of him with another woman. The idea of him settling down with someone else and possibly having a family with that person, devastated me. – Mac
When I read this, I couldn’t help but think… is she for real??? You had a baby with his brother while he was locked up and longing for you!!! See why I hated her for so much of this book? She was walking around with a chip on her shoulder and when Bas called her out on it and basically told her that he didn’t owe her anything (which was the TRUTH), she was the one acting like she was hurt. HE was the one who was betrayed. HE was the one whose heart was broken callously. HE was the one whose hopes and dreams were turned to dust. And then when her motives all those years ago were revealed, when she finally unleashed the truth, unfortunately it was too late for her to gain even an ounce of my heart. I wasn’t her friend. I wasn’t on her side and I didn’t care. Bas got all of my attention and my affection. He deserved it and kept right on earning his place.
I can’t forget about Ryder. I have such a weak spot for children in books, especially when done right and Ryder was impeccable. There wasn’t a thing about this child I would change. He was so sweet it was ridiculous. And when paired with Bas… these two owned me! I really wish there was more to this ending. It was over so abruptly, which is unusual for this author and I’m wondering if there will be more to their story at a future date. I’d like to see them with plans for their future aside from just loving each other and hoping for the best. Ah well, it was wonderful to be back in this world again and I was thankful once again for Jack. I can’t get enough of that man and can’t wait to see more of him and watch his story evolve. #PropertyOfParrish
Janine you keep on amazing me with your Satan’s Knights. Every time I read one of your books I get last in Brooklyn chapter lives. I cry, laugh and love with them everytime pick up one of your books. Keep on sharing with us the world of the Santa’s Knights MC. And showing us what it means to be the Property of Parrish
I can’t get enough of these Satan’s Knights!!!!
They just keep getting better!
Bas and Mac’s story is so much more than a love story, it’s about healing your soul and finding your home again! But don’t worry it still has all of the dirty grit we have come to love with these men! Gah, I swear I’m still trying to figure out how to become Property of Parrish myself!
I love that we get a glimpse of the other member’s of Satan’s Knights in this book. I can only hope that we have many more to come! I mean, if Riggs keeps having kids and we go into the next generation we will have an endless supply of books. Just saying!!!
As always, this was well written and kept me engaged from the first page to The End.
Can’t wait for Wolf!!!
Don’t sleep on this book. Satan’s Knights are back in action and you do not want to miss it. This is Bas and Mac’s book but all the usual suspects are in it and ready to take you on one neck of a ride. I’m so glad I read this book. I recommend to everyone that they need this book in their life. Janine is one of my favorite authors and I can’t wait to see what’s next!
Church is in session and believe me the devil is about to show you that life is no storybook fairytale. As you swing your leg over the beast of a Harley Davidson and head down the road of life with Bas and Mac you will be confronted by the past, the memories and the devil that holds tight to all their secrets. As you hit the tight curves and the rubber begins to slip on the gravel beneath you, just remember one thing, Property of Parrish will always have your back. The Devil Don’t Sleep is about confronting your past head on, trusting in the people that you call family and discovering that to survive and move forward you have to find love and forgiveness deep within your soul. Their story was full of angst, drama, chaos and family. Be warned, Bas sure knows how to get your heart racing and light the fire within you. The heart wrenching drama of their past will at times consume you and cause you to shed a few tears. Bas and Mac’s story is captivating and will hold you hostage to the pages from start to finish.
The Devil Don’t Sleep
Dang, this is getting really good, the action, heat and the mushy love is off the charts! See? This is the kind of book/story I need to read sometimes, having me on the edge of my seat and feeling anxious till the end came and it’s euphoric, amazing
Ms. Bosco is a master when it comes to MC romances courtesy of her multi-layered storytelling, juggling of numerous emotionally engaging storylines and a colorful and eclectic cast of characters who have become family. This latest installment is once again fueled by danger and revenge but is more focused on the second chance romance of a dynamic duo separated by fate trying to put past hurts behind them to make a future. Add in the Club President’s continuing mental health issues and you have a story that pulled at my heartstrings, played with my emotions, before rewarding me with a satisfying conclusion that still managed to leave me with a sense of foreboding.
Sebastian Turner grew up in the MC world with a father who was President of his Club and who instilled a sense of honor in Bas that made him a delicious hero who I was immensely drawn to. His mother’s a strong-willed woman who enjoys being the Club’s mama, but she’s a bit heartless too and has always treated Bas as if he wasn’t ever good enough. The best part of being in his Club though was his romance with Mackenzie. They were the perfect match, loving like nothing could ever go wrong…until it did. A five-year prison term to save the honor of his Club took him away from Mac and when he returned even bigger changes had occurred that devastated him and had him leaving his heart and soul behind. It was a betrayal that’s eaten at him every day since he left, had him desperately trying to erase her from his soul, but when danger befalls her he rushes to her rescue despite the anger still weighing on him. A road trip back to the Satan’s Knights leaves lots of time for talk as well as getting to know Mac’s young son Ryder. Rehashing past hurts leads to lots of pain, but also opens his eyes to truths that hurt him even more as the anger he’s held all these years was misplaced. Keeping her safe gives him a second chance to live the life he always dreamed of while in jail, gives him a chance to be the kind of honorable father his own parent was, and watching all the years of anger washed away made for an empowering story full of heartwarming words and deeds. Bas is a sexy biker who early on tries to keep himself isolated from Mac, but she and Ryder slowly burrow their way back into his heart. Reserved banter soon became more playful, more sensual, as Mac and Ryder pulled at Bas’s heartstrings. Bas wore his heart on his sleeve, was very open about his anger and guilt, and it endeared him to me as he beautifully balanced a tough guy exterior with a warm and caring nature inside that especially made me smile in his scenes with Ryder. On a whole he’s yet another of the Satan’s Knights that you can’t help but fall for, even when their drawing blood from their enemies.
Mac was once a carefree young girl full of energy and wildness, happy to be Bas’s girl as they set their hometown on fire. They were a perfect match and their love shown through every action. Mac was more than willing to wait for Bas to return home from prison but fate had other ideas. Bas’s brother and mother had their own agenda for the Club and unfortunately Mac got caught up in the war and ended up in hell. She endured her own prison sentence, losing herself along the way, but was rewarded by the birth of her son whose smile was infectious. While she’s always longed for Bas’s return, she’s angry too and doesn’t want to accept his offer of safety. But love for Ryder has her making a deal with the devil by returning to Brooklyn and the promised safety of the Satan’s Knights. Her time with Bas is full of talking, full of dealing with past hurts, but it also allows her time to find herself again. Her years without Bas led to a loss of self and I applauded her finally sticking up for herself here. The only thing that frustrated me about Mac was her not revealing her own truth long ago. Both her and Bas could’ve had their HEA long ago had she just spoken up. Despite that though I still found Mac a likable heroine who adored her son and was a strong support to Bas once they dealt with the issues overshadowing their crackling connection.
This was an engaging story from its powerful prologue that heartbreakingly depicted Bas’s pain to its cheer-worthy ending that reminded readers why you want to be “Property of Parrish”. It was a slow burn of forgiveness and acceptance for Bas and Mac with their sweet and sexy journey holding me captive. Heartfelt talks were perfectly balanced with scorching encounters that were reminiscent of their younger, wilder days. Their interactions were full of anger early on but as the story progressed their love and devotion had clearly come back to life…as had they. I don’t normally care for children in romances but Ryder was utterly delightful. He easily brought out Bas’s paternal side and I was charmed by Ryder becoming a mini-me. The best part of the story though, the part that permeates every installment of this series, is the brotherhood. These men would literally die for each other, almost have a time or two, and that unwavering support is the heart and soul of this series. The banter amongst these rough around the edges bikers is playful at times, a bit crass too, but it always makes me smile. Their support of each other comes from Jack Parrish who sees every biker, every person those biker’s claim, as a family member. He would sacrifice everything for this self-made family and the gruff President’s actions brought a tear to my eye. He’s clearly struggling with his own demons in this story and it’s a heartbreaking battle that he’s waging with himself that leaves me full of foreboding while waiting for the next installment in this series.
Sometimes we must let go of what was, appreciate what remains and fearlessly embrace what comes next.
They fell in love as carefree teenagers. A deep, abiding love. Then he goes off to prison and when he returns she’s pregnant by his brother. With a broken heart and a lot of anger he goes to the NY chapter of Satan’s Knights where he ultimately becomes the property of “Jack Bulldog Parrish.” You’ve got to read the books about Satan’s Knights to understand the significance of that statement. Fate brings Bas back home when his brother is killed and he has to protect the former love of his life. Or should I say, the only love of his life. There is a lot of miscommunication between Bas and Mac and at times I wanted to shake both. At the same time, it was one of the best love stories I’ve read. I loved Bas’ relationship with his nephew and all the things that showed what a good guy he was. This one can be read as a standalone but you lose a lot of the background. There’s no cheating and there is a HEA. Another book by this author that I will definitely read again.
4.5 Stars
The Devil Don’t Sleep is the latest Santan’s Knights MC book. Bas and Mac should of never been apart they truly loved eachother. Their story is a heartbreaking, emotional second chance at love. Being the Property of Parrish MC means “family,” they have your back no matter what. I loved seeing the guys/gals from previous books. Another great read in this series.
~~ 4.5 “PROPERTY OF PARISH” STARS! ~~
“I’ve been waiting a f*king decade to take back what’s mine.”
Eeeep! Church is officially back in session!
I first fell in love with Janine Infante Bosco’s big, bad Satan’s Knights upon reading book one, FROM THE RUINS, and this riveting second installment—Bas and Mac’s story—was FANFREAKINGTASTIC!
THE STORY:
Growing up in a family of outlaws, Sebastian “ Bas” Turner’s legacy was to ride and wreak havoc with the Satan’s Knights MC. But he discovered chaos of another kind when a beautiful, honey-eyed spitfire named Mackenzie stole his rebellious teenage heart. Their youthful, all consuming love burned bright, until a heartbreaking chain of events caused their starry eyed dreams to self destruct into a pile of ash, leaving them both in ruin.
Now, 6 years later, Bas and Mac’s fates collide once again when danger summons this broody Satan’s Knights biker back home to La Grange, Kentucky after his backstabbing brother, Junior, is brutally murdered. His loathsome, bewitchingly beautiful ex is the last woman on earth he wants to spirit away to HIS Brooklyn turf for safekeeping, but with a target on her and her son’s back, courtesy of the Mexican cartel, duty and honor prevail!
Can the most deplorable sins be abolished ? True love rekindled? And will these two fiery kindred spirits be able to stay one step ahead of the danger that threatens to rip them apart forever? You gotta read to find out but you better buckle in tight because you’re about to embark on quite a tumultuous ride!
MY MUSINGS:
Ahhh…the devilishly blue eyed biker and his beautifully broken angel stole my heart and caused such emotional mayhem I may NEVER recover!!!!
Janine Infante Bosco EXCELS at penning high octane, heart-gripping MC romances that resonate deeply, and the gut-punching prologue in THE DEVIL DON’T SLEEP sets the stage for this emotionally explosive tale which at its core is about reconciling the past, finding the healing power of forgiveness, and fighting for the future with EVERYTHING you got!
But my oh my what a treacherous battle-zone it is because Mac and Bas have quite a TEMPESTUOUS history! These two former flames became unwitting pawns in a devil’s game, and as a result, the hurt they have caused one another runs so deep it’s anyone’s guess how their love will see them through!
Which makes for quite a tantalizing read because this story is positively TEEMING with palpable tension, heartache, edge of your seat peril, and combustible sparks from start to finish.
For me, every great book starts and ends with multi-faceted, appealing protagonists, and OMG…the character building here is PHENOMENAL!
For starters, Ms. Bosco totally nails the crass-talkin’, outlaw biker persona to a T!!!! Bas is DELICIOUSLY BADASS, with a hard, savage exterior and a sweet, marshmallow center! This uber macho MC man is just so ruggedly alpha, fiercely loyal and primally sexy he LIT ME ON FIRE!
I just loved being inside of Bas’s head, and getting a glimpse into his dark, tortured soul. And holy eff… talk about a biker who’s been through the wringer! I mean, seriously, there are few worst betrayals than your girl getting preggers by YOUR VERY OWN BROTHER. However, despite his fury toward this woman he’s loved his whole adult life, she still ignites his primitive, red-hot passions, and arouses a raw, elemental need to protect her and his nephew AT ALL COSTS!
“I’ll jump off a cliff for you. Run through fire for you. I’ll kill for you. Bleed and die for you.”
Speaking of little Ryder, I ABSOLUTELY ADORED the gruffly affectionate exchanges between Bas and Mac’s sweet, bashful 5-year-old boy. So prepare for some ovary exploding man-to-man bonding moments that will leave you swoooooning!
As for the heroine, I SO admired Mac’s strength, resilience, feisty spirit, aching vulnerability, and her unwavering motherly devotion to her son. The poor woman’s been to hell and back…and sob…once we learn the devastating truth about the scars that are embedded in her own wounded heart, and discover her harrowing personal sacrifice for the broody biker she still loves with every fiber of her being, it’s SOUL-SHATTERING!
I truly rooted for Mac and Bas to heal each other, body and soul! For despite everything, their passionate, eternal love for each other ALWAYS shines through. And as the danger escalates, so does their pent up passion…until it reaches a burning inferno that CANNOT be contained!
Overall, I was totally WOWED by this story! I was very satisfied with the pacing and the development of this romance as well as the execution of the action-packed MC plot. And just like with book one, the interaction with the close-knit Satan’s Knights brotherhood, helmed by their crazy AF Prez, Jack “the Bulldog” Parrish, was a true highlight! However, I do have one small quibble in regard to the resolution of the romance. While the MC storyline ends with a real bang, I felt kind of shortchanged by the abrupt resolution to the romantic arc. I felt as if we were left hanging a bit at the end, and even though it’s clear that Mac and Bas wind up together, I would have liked a more full-blown HEA for this beloved couple after all they’d endured.
But I am sure that Ms. Bosco has WICKED GOOD plans in store for the rest of the Satan’s Knights, and hopefully we will get more happy updates on Bas, Mac and little Ryder in book 3!
A Must Read!
*4.5 stars*
I always get super excited when I see that JIB is bringing out a new book and she hasn’t disappointed me with Bas and Mac’s story. I was so enthralled I devoured this in one sitting in the garden enjoying the sunshine.
Mac & Bas’s story is so heartbreaking, its emotionally raw, gritty and complex. Not everything is always as it seems and they have both been put through so much. My heart broke for both of them. the love they had was one so powerful and real but they couldn’t survive the outside influences that worked to destroy them and Bas spent 6 years hating Mac and them suffering apart.
You get to see the others from the Satan Knights MC you have fallen in love with, they have become family to us. You get to see more of what it means to be ‘Property of Parish’ they will protect each other to the ends of the earth with the devil at their heels no matter what.
Another great read from Janine Infante Bosco. This is one hell of a must read and she has become one of my favourite MC authors.
The Devil Don’t Sleep is my first book by Janine Infante Bosco. I own several of her books, but as a blogger, I tend to keep a very full calendar and unfortunately reading off my TBR often gets put to the side. So, when I was given the opportunity to read an advanced copy of The Devil Don’t Sleep, I jumped all over it. Now I understand what all the hype is about. Janine Infante Bosco writes passionate love stories that keep you entertained from beginning to end. The Devil Don’t Sleep is a second chance romance – and I don’t know about you – but I am a total sucker for second chance love stories. Bas and Mac have a lot of history and five years apart has done nothing except intensify their relationship, or that’s what Bas is expecting when he walks into his clubhouse after being incarcerated for his club. Only finding Mac, obviously pregnant, within his brother’s arms is not part of the plan. The only way Bas could deal was to not see her… them… So, he’s transferred to another chapter. Now, six years have passed and Mac’s in danger – a danger that extends to her only child, Ryder. Bas doesn’t hesitate to come for Mac and Ryder when he’s apprised of the situation. Although the pair seem anything but friendly, fires still burn beneath the surface. When the two finally come together, they do so in spectacular fashion – Mac armed with the secrets of her past and Bas with six years of hatred – but can secrets and hatred triumph over true love? Well, you’ll have to read the book for the answers to that question…
In the meantime, I can tell you what I loved about The Devil Don’t Sleep. First, this book is packed with emotions: angst, heartbreak, unrequited love, anger, deep and consuming love…you get the picture. The story truly was a rollercoaster as readers experience a rapid succession of emotions. The Devil Don’t Sleep is told in duel perspectives and I loved that the first voice we hear is Bas, our hero. Of the two principle characters, I found myself more sympathetic towards Bas for some reason. However, my heart broke for Mac when she finally reveals the secrets that drove such a huge wedge between her and Bas. I am a huge fan of MC romance and while The Devil Don’t Sleep focused less on MC life than some that I have read, it still satisfied my need for this genre. And please don’t mistake my comment about focusing less on MC life… This book is absolutely an MC Romance. Bosco writes a story that captures you in its snare almost immediately. Although the pace was a little slow for me in a few places, overall its fairly consistent. The plot kept me guessing from start to finish and the unpredictability was another reason I LOVED the story. The characters – Bas and Mac had enough sparks between them to start a fire. While this story is a slow-burn, when the time comes for Bas and Mac to reconnect… WOW!
If you’re a fan of MC romance, you’ll definitely want to read The Devil Don’t Sleep. As I was new to Janine Infante Bosco, I can’t compare this book to one of her previous works. What I can tell you is that this is a great way to pass the time and that I intend to bump up the books that I already own that were written by Bosco to the top of my TBR…
I am so excited about this book, this Author, Property of Parrish and where Satan’s Knights MC all began!! I want to start at the beginning and read it all!!
Obviously this is my first Janine Infante Bosco book. But it DEFINITELY WON’T be my last!!!
This book has so much heart. Bas is sent away to prison and was in there for 5 years, then came out to find his life had changed and gone on without him. He decides to leave Albany, NY and ends up with the Brooklyn Satan’s Knights MC where he meets Parrish and learns what brotherhood and family is really about. There’s a death in is family, bringing him back to Albany. From there he ends up with a new responsibility that changes his life in many ways. I love Bas, he was such a good man!! Parrish and Satan’s Knights MC are a good family to Bas!! I want to read more about them and the history of this MC!! I’m so thrilled to have found this Author!!!
I highly recommend that you read this book, especially if you enjoy MC Romance!!
The Satan Knights MC just keeps getting better and better. Janine grabs your heart and doesn’t let go.
Bas & Mac story is both heartbreaking and heartwarming, the chemistry and love between these two is undeniable. This book captures you from the first page and doesn’t let you go, it is devastatingly beautiful in its entirety, it’s demented poetry. With that I’ve become Property of Parrish.
Don’t Sleep on this Book….
This book is my first by this author and I was pleasantly surprised.
Bas & Mac aren’t your typical hero and heroine. Their love story is not an easy journey. I was enamored of the angst, heart, and relatability of these two characters in the MC genre. When usually it is a play off of a certain tv show, this author forged her own path. It was a delightful path to read and to come to fall in love with Bas & Mac. This is a perfect book to get lost in at the pool, beach, or your favorite reading spot! I look forward to reading more books by this author.
Sebastian “Bas” Turner has an interesting way of working things out. He shows the non-glamorous side to being in an MC. Mackenzie “Mac” has let herself be bullied but is finally ready to stand up for herself. She’s in trouble just because of her association with his family.
This is a second chance at happiness but a lot has to happen first before love can even enter the picture. Part of that picture includes her son. He seems adorable and one I looked forward getting to know as the story rolls on. Another character I loved getting to know was her Nana. She reminds me of my own grandmother – her spirit animal would have to be a bear.
Our author gives us plenty of drama – well we can’t expect our main characters to fall in love at first sight after everything they went through. Our author creates plenty of angst – loved the banter going back and forth between these two plus the heat coming off the page. And our author creates plenty of suspense – what’s going to happen with Mac and her son? What’s going to happen between Bas and Mac? This author always has me looking forward to her next MC book. I never know what to expect and I eventually get so hooked that I forget everything else and hate when I have to put it down for any reason. And I also love watching a man crumble – even as the woman gives him what for. This book has left me wanting more especially since the ending felt as if things weren’t finished.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
Oh my goodness!! So many emotions are evoked in this book. Mac is totally relatable character for me anyway and Bas is a bada$$. They have to confront their past and secrets together. At times I wanted to slap them both. Miscommunications keep them apart but with a death brings them together again. Emotionally charged book from start to finish.
Wow! This book was so good. Bas and Mac have a tortured past but when she is threatened he races to her side. Regardless of their past he would always be there to protect her except when he wasn’t. A history that will explode the secrets surrounding Bas once he finally opens up and lets Mac tell him what really happened and what will he do now that he knows the truth? Will Bas walk away again, can he walk away from the only woman who has ever owned his heart? Strong characters that jump off the page and into your heart. So much emotions and I was cheering for them all the way. Ryder just melted my heart. Highly recommend this book and especially this author. Amazing READ!!!
Love me some Satan’s Knights! Janine outdid herself once again. Bas only wanted one thing when he got out of prison and that was to see his love! But that didn’t work out as planned. Wow! This book was full of angst, heartache, highs and lows. I want to fill this review with lots of things but don’t want to spoil it for anyone else, so i will just say…Read This Book! It is FRICKIN FANTASTIC!!!
