Welcome to . It’s a fish out of water story about how God turns 32-year-old’s manicured, pedicured, self-absorbed designer life upside down.
Julie, a nominal Christian, heads to New York for a weekend shopping binge. On a deserted train, she sits next to a stranger who turns out to be Jesus. After a wonderful, healing conversation she agrees to His request to, “feed My lambs.” When she gets off … agrees to His request to, “feed My lambs.” When she gets off the train she’s in India.
Her charmed life is shattered — she must care for 12 “filthy orphans” living on a dump before she can return to her comfortable life. She lives on the street and overwhelming new challenges arise daily. While squatting in an alley, going to the bathroom, an orphan, named Ravi, steals her designer purse. Unbeknownst to Julie, Ravi, who speaks English, holds the key to her communicating with the other orphans.
Will Julie learn (1) to trust the Lord when nothing is in her control? (2) that she doesn’t have to perform to be loved? and (3) that her life is built on a shaky foundation? Can she protect the orphans from a predator who steals and maims children and sends them out to beg? How will God provide food when her wallet is stolen? Can she find safe homes for the children?
The answers to these questions will also be the answers to many of your questions about God, life and yourself. Pick up a copy of The Designer Bag at the Garbage Dump and jump into a great adventure!

I read this book a while ago, but it has stayed with me. Not many books capture my attention to that degree. This is not a light-hearted, whimsical read. The author gets you where it hurts. How are you living your life? I’ve recommended this book to family and friends
Great read! Highly recommend it.
Wow, was I ever surprised! I almost didn’t get this book, but I like Christian fiction so I decided to try it. I was NOT disappointed!
I was a bit skeptical at first with the appearance of Jesus, but it was a good way to remind you that He is always here under all circumstances.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
This was a definite thought provoking book. Makes you really understand how truly blessed we are.
This book will draw you in and open your heart and mind to caring about others
This book was absolutely amazing! It literally pulled at my heart strings and has left me wanting to do so much more for this BIG ole world! To make sure I stop and listen and look and feel the truths in those words! A FAB read!!
God has a plan and he will put you where you need to be.
I loved this book. It inspired me to help the needy.
Very good read.
A book I hated to put down, but very different from what I expected to read at first. It is hard to imagine anyone who was like this main character purposely going through this in real life, but maybe there have been many well off persons who actually have done so. Like Mother Teresa and her team. The story does lead one to rethink one’s own …
I loved this book, it made me sad, mad, indignant, laugh, cry, all over the main character. Yet we can see a bit of all of us in this story and God’s humor in teaching us His lessons.. a must read for any age…
I’m not a fan of time travel sorts of plot techniques, so that was my least favorite part of this book. On many levels this book is unrealistic, yet it forced me to think about my own view of some very real problems such as poverty and children growing up without parents, having nobody to care for them. For that reason, it was worth my time, but …
Couldn’t put it down!
A lot of Christians live in comfort zones that limit or stifle their growth in God. He is a mover and a shaker and knows perfectly what is needed for each of us in each situation. His Hearts desire is for us to receive all of His promises to us and He is wonderfully capable of helping us to receive them. This story blessed me a lot!
An amazing story of God’s practical love. It’s definitely a page-turner. I works recommend it for any Christian looking to strengthen their walk with the Lord.
i really liked this book. it was a surprise as the story developed but the ending was really a good way too have it end. The story was fictional but the under lying was so real in this world today.
It took me a while to get into this book, but was well worth my perseverance. It me “puddling up” in many places.
Interesting characters. Liked steampunk theme. Immediately ordered the next 2 books in the series.
great book ! quick read because it so interesting
Enjoyed the situation the heroine found herself in! The humor was refreshing and it was lots of fun to watch how the heroine responded! Great message!
