Everything written by this author is thought provoking and informative, maybe a little twisted. Engaging unusual characters and I’m still trying to figure out where Kix came from.
I have come to love this author and can’t wait to read more of his books! Mackenzie August is a private detective who is excellent at his job. He is tasked in this book to check into allegations of the head priest of All Saints Church. The priest is exceedingly popular, and August has to find out just who is telling the truth. He is hired by two men on the church board who want to clear the priest’s name, but also want the truth to be told. This book is fast action! I stayed up late at night just to see how it would turn out!
Very good book. Power corrupts. And even though a seriously serious topic, M. Lee adds his touch of humor. If you don’t laugh you will cry and that doesn’t help anyone.
I loved this book and the character of Mac August. The story is good and has wit and good pacing. I’m currently working my way through the whole series!
Great topic great read
Never saw THAT coming! Could hardly put the book down! What a great writer…

M
Alan Lee has been topping my list of favorite authors. His characters are entertaining. Mac & Manny make a very good read.
My only complaint, and it’s the same with Lee Child’s books, I tend to read them way too quickly!! Just can’t put them down.
PI Mackenzie August is hired by a church to prove that an associate pastor has been spreading lies about Father Louis. They want it proven that Father Louis in NOT gay and that he does not push himself on his underlings or boys of the parish. Mack has a very funny sense of humor woven into a serious story. The twists were unexpected.
Mackenzie is a wonderfully created character and I felt myself root for him.
The plot itself was excellent and moved at a rapid pace and the twists and turns of the story kept it enjoyable till the very end. Loved it.
good read. enjoyed/
in light of current times, this book is right on the mark
I rate books by “Would I like to continue reading this book or do something else?”. In my rating system, I gave this book 4 1/2 stars. I didn’t realize this was part of a series when I got it, but it was easy to catch up on the story line.
A fun read. Good characters. A quick read.
I read this based on other reviews, and was disappointed. It was a decent read, and I like trying authors I’ve never read before. It was a quick read, just not as meaty as I thought it would be.
This book was incredible! I’ve recommend this book to everyone! I love the witty responses. Characters are reminiscent of a Parker book. I love the baby is the muse!
Both the author and the editor need to learn the rules of sentence structure and punctuation! In the majority of cases, one word does not make a sentence.
Love the main character’s whit.
