A ruined reputation is a sweet entry into sin… And as it turns out, being seen in nothing but her skin might be the solution she’s been looking for.
Jonathan Foster is the illegitimate son of a sugar plantation owner, and though running his father’s business in London has made him wealthy, his true calling is as a pastry chef and confectioner. When he meets Sophie, he sees her as the perfect canvas for his art and the perfect companion for his life. Ambition has never tasted so good.
But when a familiar villain is discovered to be selling secrets to French pirates, Sophie and Jonathan must stretch their delicious new alliance to do more than just entertain the members of the ton who once turned their backs on Sophie, they must catch the spies and see them brought to justice.
A light-hearted, fun, SUPER steamy, Regency romp—a quick read, not to be taken too seriously.

I enjoyed this beautiful, romantic and steamy, and witty love story!
Miss. Sophia is tired of the ton judging her and her family. She wants to do something daring, Mr. Jonathan is a illegitimate son of a nobleman, he is also a talented baker. He makes her an offer and she accepts it.
This is a Must Read, a fun, sweet and short, to the point witty, action, romance!!
What a sweet steamy romance filled with confectionery delights. This story although not long, is filled with just the right amount of action, excitement, willing curious naivete, sexy, sexy romps and a quick but satisfying romance. I adored Sophia’s curiosity in living life to the fullest; to live outside of the strict ton norms. Seeing how her two older sisters fared with their exploration in the carnal world and it led to love and marriage this gave Sophia the courage to try new things. She met Jonathan at her sister’s wedding reception. He was the creative genius behind the erotic pastry at the reception. I applaud the author Merry Farmer for introducing a bi-racial character in Jonathan. He is the son of a black Jamaican slave and a white English Lord. He was loved by his father and educated. He now ran his father’s business interests in London and in the evenings, he indulged in his personal passion of becoming the next great confectioner renown in England and beyond. Beyond the romance there was intrigue and some danger. They became involved in an international treasonous affair of spies from France getting shipping information from a titled Lord. A thrilling adventure. At the end it had all three sisters together and the author tied up all the loose ends quite nicely. A very satisfying read and I do highly recommend it. I received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I think this whole Wallflowers series is so much fun! I would label them steamy, historical rom coms.
This short story is very entertaining. The intimate scenes between Sophie and Jonathan are very sensual and neither too long nor too short.
Nicely done.
Super fun light read. Huge Merry Farmer fan!
This third tale in the “When the Wallflowers were Wicked” series was so so wicked and sweet, I’m sure my blood sugar has reached diabetes level.
It was so lovely honeyed and deliciously cheeky.
I didn’t know what to expect from Sophie, the younger of the Barnes misses. But surely not to be the most wanton of them all.
Mrs Merry Farmer has concocted such an exquisitely and mischievously enticing story between a fallen woman who did nothing wrong except being the sister of someone who was dismissed by London ton for some words and the son of a slave and a peer in trade business who is shunned for his heritage.
Jonathan tries to make a name for himself outside his father’s business, not easy when you’re a mulatto. But miss Sophie Barnes seems eager to help, and not only for his business profit.
They are cute together, immediately drawn to another with no restraint to be together.
The author added an additional plot to their story which give some bad peoples from the previous books their right reward.
In all, a short and entertaining read.
I’m a fan of Merry Farmer, but these books weren’t her best effort in my opinion. Three sisters scorned by the upper society of London, try to find security on the other side. I’m not a prude, but this book seems to be about sex with a minor story attached.
Super spicy story of Sophie. With her two older scandalous sister married Sophie is feeling rather down. That is until Jonathan, the son of a wealthy sugar plantation owner and slave offers her a job. Wanting to thumb her nose at the ton she accepts blindly. What happens is something Sophia would have never expected and leaves her feeling free and falling in love with Jonathan is a bonus. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.
The Delectable Tart book 3 by Merry Farmer in the Wallflowers Were Wicked series.
If you’re looking for a quick read that’s sure to make you smile this one is it. I like the characters and flow of the plot. This is an amusing and entertaining story, with some drama and mystery thrown in. Caution full of stark. My free opinion. Thanks.
