This is a well written cozy mystery, just not my type. The characters are interesting, but since this is book #1 there needed to be a little more background.
This was an easy summer read. The story was a bit repetitive with the main character’s insecurities.
I finished it, but it has some bad language in it that I don’t agree with.
Brought the characters to life. Good “murder” story without the grizzly typical murder story.
I’m only on the third book and yet by book one I wanted to buy all 9!! This series is an amazing murder mystery to read. I love trying to predict what will happen and get surprised by what actually happens! I fully recommend this series and f.y.i. I’m totally shipping Ellison and Detective Jones!
I wished I had the time to not put this book down! The turn of each page was enthralling enough to question what next to expect. Truly enjoyable!
Great summer read. Was hooked from the beginning
Did not stop reading until I finished it. It was awesome
Fun!
This book was good enough to make me want to read the next one in the series. I’m dubious, though, as to whether the content along the way will override the “how many bodies will she find?” distraction that comes with a cozy murder mystery series? The other thing I’m a bit bothered by is that the series is set in the 80s. I haven’t looked hard enough to see if they were actually written then, or if the author just chose that period. So far, 2 books into the series, I don’t see where it’s essential to the plots.
Great
What a great story!
A society wife, husband and daughter. A life of privilege and embarrassment collide. Now add people dying and not knowing who to trust. A real page turner. This won’t be my last Julie Mulhern book!
Fantastic summer read! Lol funny.
The main character was wonderful. It was nice to see her grow and find herself gradually, rather than all at once, as some authors tend to do. I will be reading more from this author!
I enjoyed it very much.
It was okay not a deep mystery
Refreshing
1st. secure at least an afternoon to read. 2nd. if you have not finished in this time period you will lose sleep unless you are very very disciplined. 3rd. this book is so absolutely fantastic you simply must make said time to read. talk about every aspect taking you all the way into reading bliss. if this were sugar i would be in a coma…
The only redeeming value to this book was the new house keeper character: she had been knocked down many times but she got up smiling because she still had faith in people.
