What’s a movie star to do when she wants privacy for her wedding day? Pay someone else to stage a fake wedding half a world away, of course.Struggling artist Bree has been the great Maggie Tate’s decoy for a while now, but when the A-list actress asks her to play the star for three weeks to distract the paparazzi from Maggie’s real wedding Bree has no idea what she’s getting herself into. … into. Especially when she realizes she’s going to be isolated in one of the world’s most romantic settings with the bodyguard she can’t seem to stop drooling over.
Retired football star Cross has always been driven to be the best at everything he does – whether that’s professional sports or personal protection. He doesn’t make mistakes. Ever. But when the sexy little decoy and her complete lack of impulse control start throwing him off his game, he’s about to discover that there are some things in life he can’t control. Like the irrepressible decoy… and his heart.

Leaving her family and Minnesota behind, young aspiring artist Bess loads her old car with her camera and meager possessions. She drives cross-country and lands in L.A. where she works primarily as a photographer. To fund her growth as an artist she poses as famed actress Maggie Tate. The life as a person of fame becomes a revelation for Bree as she becomes the star Maggie for a period of 3 weeks. For a book that, on the surface, appears to be a bit of fluff, there are deeper issues that come to light. This is an enjoyable read…very entertaining.
Complicated issues of romance that are finally resolved. Entertaining to read
Great story it was very believable
Great story line and characters. A fun read, with a few twists and turns to make it interesting.
Good book!
Fun and enjoyable story! I believe this is one of a series and hope to get to read others by this author. I really enjoyed this book – couldn’t put it down!
Loved it!!!
Don’t miss this one! Wonderful author, great book!
very enjoyable.
I loved this book. Look-alike of famous actress decoys for her wedding in an exotic location with the actresses hot body guard. They hit it off really well and get caught in a “situation”. You will have to read the book to find out what happens but I will say the book is really good with some surprising twist and turns along the way. You won’t be disappointed.
Bree and Maggie are interesting characters whose lives become intertwined. I had a hard time putting this book down and immediately purchased the next book in this series because I wanted more.
Entertaining story with wonderful characters.
Good book. Very enjoyable.
Once I got past her having worked this decoy deal for years without having the issues of the book, I totally enjoyed the story and the outcome. Interesting issues for the characters raised. Nicely developed conclusion. I would read more by this author.
enjoyed the ‘tongue-in-cheek’ writing style.
Liked unique storyline, but a little too much fluff for me. Quick, light read.
Very fun escape, cute storyline
THE DECOY BRIDE is a standalone read with a HEA. The background is Hollywood. It is not about a star, but her double. The double is used when the star wants to be somewhere else. She is big, popular and newsworthy. Recently engaged she is planning her wedding. However, she uses her double to go to a distant island and pretend to be planning the wedding there. Enough is released so that the cameras are popping up in the bushes, etc. to get the shot. Little do they know that the actual star is on another island 5,000 miles away planning her real wedding.
The double is a young woman trying to make it in the art world. She uses these jobs to pay her rent, etc. while she tries to hit it big. This gig will pay $60,000 so if she can pull it off it will give her about 3 years of expenses so she can work on her art. She travels with a full posse to handle everything. The bodyguard is the hero of the story and these two develop a relationship, a definitely no-no. Then a crisis occurs and everything goes to heck. It is a really good story. The love story is very good. I really enjoyed the book and I definitely recommend it. 7/2/19
I enjoyed this story and I read it one evening as I had to see if true love won out in the end
Liked the characters
