I’ve been through hell to get to this place. To wear the perfect white dress and stand beside Royce Hale, the liar I tried desperately not to fall in love with and failed.Or maybe I’m still trapped in hell because the devil is here too. He lurks at my side, plotting terrible ways to make me his. It’s win at all costs in this family, and I know now just how far the Hales will go to get what they … to get what they want.
But you can’t survive in a house full of lies without learning the art of deception, and once I become a Hale, I’ll show them exactly what I’ve mastered.
THE DECEPTION is the conclusion to the captivating FILTHY RICH AMERICANS trilogy, which should be read following THE INITIATION and THE OBSESSION.

Truths, carefully planned actions and a wedding. Everything comes together in The Deception, the third and final part of the ‘Filthy Rich Americans Series’. Marist has grown into her role as a player in the Hale game and Royce and Macalister are fighting for dominance over the Hale empire. I love the conclusion to the Trilogy.
Relationship-wise Marist and Royce are on the right path. They have feelings for each other, and slowly they get used to them. But slowly falling in love isn’t an option in the Hale family; there’s so much at stake, and you can’t be sure about who to trust or not. Marist might have been an innocent woman till a few months back, but her new life has shaped her quickly into a confident, sensual woman who knows what she wants. Sort of, because the Hale men can be oh so confusing with their poker faces and untold stories.
The Deception is the final part of the Trilogy, and like the other books its decedent, luscious and a bit filthy. While my inner dirty girl loves the ‘what could have happened’, my more sensible self is shaking her head. Some things go too far, but somehow, they are fitting to the story. I love how Marist keeps true to herself, even though at times she doesn’t know what to do. She and Royce are a formidable couple, I love them together (and how they played the game). And Macalister, I can’t help myself feeling sorry for him. Somehow, he deserved more.
I love the conclusion to Marist and Royce’s story; I give The Deception 5 stars.

Check out the conclusion to Nikki Sloane’s Filthy Rich Americans series!
Holy heck!
I LOVED it! Absolutely loved it. This series…best trilogy I have read this year!
It’s sexy but yet there is this story that keeps unfolding, driving us towards the finish line and it was 100% entertaining. Steamy, cunning, deceitful, The Hale family doesn’t mess around! The mythology that the author has woven in to the story adds so much and she did a brilliant job incorporating it. I could hardly put it down, it’s that addictive!
HIGHLY recommend!!!
This jaw dropping, epic, hot and steamy conclusion will blow your mind!! I now have a new book to add to my top 10 for 2019!! Her writing is flawless, her characters are steamy and deceptive, but full of total devotion!! This book will make you a NIkki Sloane Lover from the first word!! (Although, you should read The Initiation and The Obsession before you read this book!!) I am simply blown away by these characters and how the end unfolds!! My love for Nikki sloane grows with every book that comes out!!!
Nikki sloane has once again made me fall in love all over again it’s her writing! This book was pure magic, twisted with high emotion and steaminess that will rock your world. Nikki Sloane seriously never disappoints. Her writing captivated me from the first word until the the end. Her characters are seductive and steamy with every word and emotion they show. The way these characters lives are intertwined and the secrets and deception behind every move that is made in this book – so and dirty!!
This epic conclusion to Marist, Royce, and macalisters story!! It leaves off where The Obsession leaves off. It, of course, leaves you begging for more and then the story unfolds!! Omg. This book is so hot and captivating!!! I swear, only Nikki sloane writes a masterful tale of suspense, emotion, deception, and overall amazing story that leaves you hanging onto the edge of your seat!!
This book is a must read by Nikki sloane!! 5+
WOW what an ending to a fabulous series. Nikki Sloane really knows how to keep you interested, intrigued, and give you all the feels.
Marist is finally going to marry the man of her dreams or maybe her nightmares, Royce Hale. She’s not sure if he’s the perfect liar or just emotionally closed off like his father. Having to be strong to withstand the dark, twisted and crazy games Macalister Hale her soon to be father-in-law plays with her, mentally and emotionally this woman is a rock or is she? Will she be able to hold out from his advances as they get more deprived? Will she finally be able to hear Royce tell her those elusive words she desires to hear? Will she live through the total hell all the Hales seem to be putting her though?
Royce has a hard time showing his love because he’s not sure he knows how to truly love anyone since his mother died. Having a father who does whatever it takes to come out on top no matter who he destroys in the process, Royce learns to be closed off and closed lipped. Will Marist be able to get him to open up and truly share everything with her or will he risk losing her to the one man he wants to destroy, Macalister Hale his father.
Macalister Hale has convinced his self he is in love with Marist and he will have her no matter who he hurts. His wheeling, dealing and games to manipulate her into his arms may just cost him more than he realizes.
There are so many people who’s lives have been changed just by the desires of one family to have their son marry for the social benefit that it provides for them. Alice Hale, Macalister’s wife who only wants her husband’s attention is one of the emotionally destroyed pawns in his game to win Marist from his son, along with Emily, Marist’s sister who intentionally got pregnant to keep from having to marry a Hale and almost loses her life and the babies.
The ending of this series was so not what I was expecting it was so much more. All the questions we had throughout the series are answered and we are left with a want or need to see more from these characters and their lives and what the future holds for them.
I received a free copy of this book from the author.
This is the third book in the Filthy Rich Americans series and it’s the final one for this couple. You must read the other two books before reading this one or you’re be completely lost.
The Deception picks up where The Obsession left off…which, of course, was a mini-cliffhanger. This installment Marist and Royce are a force to be reckoned with. After all this time they’ve finally figured out how to semi-work together for the outcome they want to achieve.
I tortured one of my friends while reading the advanced copy of this book because she was waiting for the release to find out what happened! This book will have you on the edge of your seat for most of the novel. I was disappointed with the epilogue as after all the build up in the story I thought it fell flat compared.
Other than that these characters will keep you hopping and shouting from your chair. At some point you might even want to throw your kindle but hang in there. Checkmate is coming.
Wow, what a conclusion!
I have never been so consumed with a story like I have been with this one. From the first words to the very last lines, this entire series borrows its way into you and won’t let up until you’ve binged every last word.
Book three picks up right after the epic cliffhanger of book two. And if you thought it’s been a wild adventure so far, you haven’t seen anything yet. Power is the name of the game, and lies and deceptions are just par for the course. And the twists and turns in this book rival any you read before.
Royce Hale is still cocky, powerful, and determined. He’s still an irresistible force to be reckoned with, and if possible you’ll love him even more by the end of his story. Marist will teeter on the line between love and hate in this book. Be patient with her though, you will love her in the end. And though Macalister Hale may seem like a true villain, you might just feel a bit differently toward him by the time you finish this book.
This is a truly binge-worthy tale. Drama, deception, and deceit will pull you in, but you’ll stay for the epic love story and wicked heat that only a Nikki Sloane novel can provide. For me, this entire series gets all the stars.
What a finale! Compared to the first two books, this one manages to maintain the same momentum and anticipation all throughout the story. This one knocked my socks off. I doubt there was ever a time where I had everything figured out and could accurately predict what happens next. The character development was so well done, with mythology weaved in perfectly. Macalister straddles that fine line so often that I could never truly hate the man, but I could definitely hate his actions. Royce claims to be transparent with Marist when they are alone, but he still seemed so enigmatic at times that it wasn’t until this book that I had a much clearer picture of him in his entirety, yet it was fun to keep guessing. As for Marist, she is definitely the shining star of the story, how a girl who seemed so invisible became the one to step in to the spotlight and embrace everything about being a Hale and garner so much attention yet she did whatever she had to do to reach her goal. Such an addicting series and a favorite of mine. Highly recommend if you’re in the mood for a combination of sexy, seductive, twisty and provocative with a tantalizing edge.
What a phenomenal ending to an amazing trilogy!! After the cliffhanger in The Obsession, I’ve been anxiously awaiting The Deception! The author did an amazing job! I was literally on the edge of my seat all the way to the end. This one played out like a game of chess, where you have to be two steps ahead of your opponent. I wasn’t sure who to trust, although I’ve been rooting for Royce and Marist since the beginning. There are plot twists you won’t see coming. I don’t want to say too much more, because I don’t want to give away the storyline. This is one of my favorite trilogy’s this year! If you love dark, twisted, angsty romance, then you will love this one!
Make sure you read The Initiation and The Obsession before reading The Deception!
What an ending to one of the best trilogies I’ve ever read. Wow! This series, and it’s twists and turns and it’s edge of your seat dramatics is utterly fantastic. You must read the books in order!! Nikki Sloane, you are brilliant.
Overall, I love this trilogy well written and a page turner but I didn’t quite love this book as much as I love the previous ones.
I had hard time connecting with the characters on the book, I think the deceptions of each of the characters threw me off a little bit. It still was a interesting book and I was invested, I NEEDED TO KNOW what was going on but I don’t know I didn’t get a satisfied feeling when I ended the book. I enjoy the book but I didn’t like the characters all that much at the end and if I’m honest I think I was secretly rooting for Macalister
I’ve loved all of Nikki’s books, but this series blew me away. I highly recommend it to readers of erotic suspense.
3 stars. The Deception is the final book in the Filthy Rich Americans series and the conclusion to Marist’s story. I can’t go into the story too much without spoiling, but I will share that they story continues along the same suspenseful, angsty, sexy vein in which it began.
I had a bit of a hard time connecting with this book. The characters were all deceptive, hard to trust and we didn’t know who was telling the truth or was backstabbing each other until the very end. I wasn’t sure that I liked any of them after their behavior. Some of the acts they committed were too much and not easily forgivable. This family was seriously messed up. I do not really like love triangles, nor do I find a father-son one sexy, nor the heroine participating in or watching sex scenes with her FIL or MIL. Too much had gone on for me to trust that they really loved each other or that they could have an HEA. Still, I did enjoy the imaginative story and the suspenseful feeling, even if it felt a bit too edgy for me. This was a fast paced, easy read.
Overall, I didn’t quite love this book, but I did enjoy this trilogy as a whole. If you like angsty, twisty, suspenseful, darkish romances, you will enjoy this series. I still enjoy Ms. Sloane’s books a lot. I just tend to like her other, not as dark books, a little more.
JSDFHSGUHLJGROw;go;g;rgh;og!!
That’s how this series left my mind….a jumbled mess of emotion!
Nikki Sloane’s wicked mind is one of my favorite places to visit! Not only does Nikki give us a taboo love story, she also gives us lies, deceit and mythology all within the pages of this trilogy.
As a mythology geek (and proud of it), I was enraptured from the beginning of how each character was portrayed and compared to their mythological god/goddess counterpart. It provides a completely different layer and all-new depth to their characters.
The fact that you can never tell who is lying, what is being lied about, who can be trusted and who is the ultimate threat, makes this trilogy thrilling.
The characters continued to surprise me with their risks and bets. The question of “How far is too far?” and the blatant need to “win at all costs” plays out in the ultimate chess match. I waited with bated breath to see who would come out victoriously.
This series is fantastic and one I want to read again!
What an EPIC conclusion to this phenomenal trilogy. Fast paced, twist and turns and scorching hot chemistry will keep you on the edge of your seat. All the feels in this page turner of corruption and betrayal. Absolutely love the entwining of Greek mythology in this storyline. A must read!
The Deception is the 3rd and final book in the Filthy Rich Americans trilogy and an absolutely mind-blowing conclusion to this saga that had me on the edge of my seat throughout. OMG…Nikki Sloane did it again. She gave us a story with so many twists and turns you won’t know up from down, a story with so many steamy scenes you are liable to combust and a story where you will love the characters. I’m going to admit it, McAllister was my favorite as his schemes and ploys kept pushing all boundaries.
This triangle consumed me and I still can’t get these characters out of my mind. The strategy, the manipulations, the infatuation, the character development was all exceptional. Yes this trilogy was messed up, this family in a class by themselves and I loved that you won’t know what to expect as the story progresses.
This novel was well crafted and layered and takes you on a nail biting journey to get to the end. It was a phenomenal page-turner and a top read for 2019. I would highly recommend this masterpiece to all lovers of dark romances.
Nikki has never given me a story that was less than five stars, The Deception is no different.
Wow. I’m almost speechless after finishing this trilogy. It was such an incredible story. So unique. Lies, lust, deceit, trust, and so much more.
Make sure you read The Initiation and The Obsession before reading The Deception. These are not stand alone stories and each book is a cliffhanger minus The Deception seeing as it’s the finale of the trilogy.
Holy mother of GODDDD!! This book was so much more than what I can put into words, but I’m going to try. Breathtaking. I am still in awe after finishing this book. I know it’s supposed to be the end, but I want more. I’m desperate for it!
Royce. Marist. Macalister. Fire, straight fire. I have to take a cold shower after finishing this. Just like ALL of Nikki’s books, the chemistry is off the charts.
Macalister, holy fuddddge!! Yes, Daddy. I wouldn’t be able to deny that man. I just couldn’t. He’s supposed to be the bad guy but I just can’t make my heart not love him.
Royce is such a hot blooded male. Smart, powerful, freaking hot. Jesus. I am very very jealous of Marist. I love a man who is cunning and intelligent, and Royce is definitely both.
Marist. That woman has more restraint in her pinky finger than I have in my whole body. But she is fierce and passionate. She is loving but she is deadly.
Nikki did such a STUNNING job with this series. It was everything I didn’t see coming. She threw me off balance so many times during this conclusion, that I am still in shock. I can’t wait to see what Nikki gives us next, whatever it is, I know it will be flawless.
Before I had finished the prologue, I was already chanting OMG. This is gold. A diamond, actually. Hard, relentless, dazzling. A plot so twisted and thrilling that it kidnaps you from life and keeps you as its willing prisoner.
The Hale family is a nest of vipers ready to poison every hope in Marist. She is ready to fight, though. The last cliffhanger was brutal and the upheaval it caused taints a great part of this final novel in one of the best trilogies I’ve read in this genre. Dark romance suspense? Heavily laden with devious strategy and a castle of secrets, too.
She is determined to claim Royce as hers and vanquish the Minotaur his father embodies, so she counteracts all of that monster’s challenges and uses her intellect to untangle the business machinations father and son engage in like a battle between gods.
There’s a tempting amount of steamy times. And a plethora of evil surprises that had me enthralled. Sensuality to overflowing lengths too. My favourite? The ones with Macalister. I’m afraid Royce has lost his lustre on the way, though his shows of affection are welcome.
I must confess my favoritism towards Macalister. He intrigued me in the first book and won me over in the second. This corrupting, hardened man shines in every scene with dark power, and I relished every time he interrupted the young couple’s bliss. Sorry, I feel like he is The God and I am his unconditional fan
Endless manipulations seem to drown Marist in every scheme from this man, but the beauty of it is that she is gloriously victorious after every defeat. Intrigue, luxury, devastating power games, it is one intense battle of wills and lust and mythological analogies.
The race for power is filled with betrayal, sultry pacts, madness and twisted love, and the war comes to an end that is epic, breathtaking, and a true Greek tragedy. My heart went out to the fallen foe and I disagreed with what happened to one of the female characters in the family, but it’s the trigger for a fitting and trascendental change in fate for this triangle of amazing characters. What a stunning finale. What a stunning read.
Deception is the third book in the Filthy Rich American Series.
Nikki Sloane takes you on one hell of a rollercoaster ride with all the twists and turns. Marist makes a deal with the devil and that devil is Macalister. Every time Marist thinks she has a foot up with Macalister he ends up one upping her. Macalister is to be Marist’s Father-in-law and he will use every dirty trick he knows to get Marist for himself. He doesn’t care that Marist & Royce are to be married.
This is a series that you need to start at the beginning if you haven’t already started since this is the last book in this trilogy.
I have really enjoyed reading this series with this book being the best one yet! It’s a book that you can’t put down good! 5+ Stars.
