I’ve been through hell to get to this place. To wear the perfect white dress and stand beside Royce Hale, the liar I tried desperately not to fall in love with and failed.Or maybe I’m still trapped in hell because the devil is here too. He lurks at my side, plotting terrible ways to make me his. It’s win at all costs in this family, and I know now just how far the Hales will go to get what they … to get what they want.
But you can’t survive in a house full of lies without learning the art of deception, and once I become a Hale, I’ll show them exactly what I’ve mastered.
THE DECEPTION is the conclusion to the captivating FILTHY RICH AMERICANS trilogy, which should be read following THE INITIATION and THE OBSESSION.

The Deception is twisted.
The Deception is powerful.
The Deception took my mind and heart to the darkest and most depraved corner of humanity.
Nikki Sloane has unleashed the beast of sins, lust, passion and suspense.
And it is going to devour you whole.
The Deception is the epic and explosive conclusion of Filthy Rich American trilogy. And what a way to finish this mindblowing series. My head is totally muddled and messed up. Macalister Hale; the arrogant, ruthless and cold hearted head of Hale family and business has turned up his dirty, filthy and manipulating games by a thousand times in this story. Royce and Marist are determined to beat him in his own games. But truth and lies are mixing together to create an illusion of reality. And how much can Marist gamble on this high risk game before she is crushed? The twists and turns created a complex maze. And I often wondered if I will find a way out. Because I could never be sure who to trust and who to kill.
This story is all about complex chemistry and mind numbing crazy interactions among the characters. Marist is a beautifully crafted goddess on her own right. I am in love with her strength, courage, intelligence, vulnerabilities and just everything. It’s real intriguing when Nikki Sloane exposed and explored layers after layers in her heart. It was like solving a puzzle and I was hypnotized. She became a power house on her own who could destroy the most feared and intimidating men.Now about Macalister. Ok I know I am supposed to hate him for his cruelty and vulgarity. He wants to win Marist and beat his own son. And the tactics he has is downright despicable. But I am oddly attracted to this dark, fucked up and deviant man. There is something in his power and the little glimpses at his helplessness did not help my cause. I seriously felt I am cheating Royce by having any positive feelings towards him. And Royce is dream and nightmare coming true together. The chemistry between these three was outstanding. And so was the plot. I could not predict a single thing till the major turn at the very end. I could not stop reading as if my life depends on it.
The Deception is sensuality and perversion.
The Deception is ruin, riches and redemption
The Deception is power plays and mind games.
Be prepared to be lost in the magic of Nikki Sloane’s writing.
Received ARC for Honest review
At the end of book 2, Marist was fading fast on the steps of the staircase in foyer. Macalister really thought she was dying as she told him Alice had poisoned her. Needless to say, the rush to save her, plus the alpha fight between Royce and Macalister to control the situation will hit you like level 5 hurricane. Read on to find this amazing conclusion to chess game that is life with the Hales.
It takes a strong woman like Marist to develop the means to get what she wants and needs. The greatest chess game of her life is unfolding and she must stay on her toes if she is to checkmate her opponent.
Could not put this book down! This entire series has been dark, emotional, intelligent, and most of all riveting. Recommended for anyone over 21 who loves this combination.
I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Thanks to the author for sharing a copy of this book with me.
This is the tension filled conclusion of this series. It is not a standalone read. You must start at book one and read each book in order. All I can say is try to have plenty of free time blocked out because once you start you will not want to put this book aside regardless of what you should be doing. The twist and drama will keep you perched on the edge of your seat as you try to anticipate how the story will unfold. Marist, Royce and Macalister are all complex and complicated characters that easily pull you into their world and evoke deep and passionate feelings (both the good and the bad) in the reader. The final moves of the epic dance these three have been on will leave you stunned and satisfied. This series provides readers with one addictive ride that is not to be missed!
I can’t even begin to describe how much I loved this story and how much I needed this story in my life. The Deception is the third and final book in the Filthy American’s Trilogy and let’s just say this series went out with a bang.
I have loved Marist from the start. She has grown so much throughout this series and is now not afraid to battle against Macalister and all his games. She was playing with the best of them and willing to do whatever she could to win this game. Once she officially became a Hale, it was all over. She was the strongest she had ever been. I loved how much Royce cared for Marist, I loved that he was supportive of her and let her flourish.
I was on the edge of my seat reading this book. I was completely sucked into the Hales’ world and wanted to know more, I wanted to know what was going to happen next, and who would come out on top. I loved every single moment of this story. There were so many twists and turns that you don’t see coming, but all the unanswered questions are answered by the end.
My only complaint is that I wish it was a dual POV because there are so many times, I would have loved to see Royce’s POV on the situation, but regardless it was still absolutely fantastic.
If you’re looking for a steamy, twisted, suspenseful series this is one to check out! A MUST READ!
This was everything I needed! Each installment in this series brought the tension and heat and angst to a blistering level. MacAllistar is probably one of the most evil and wonderful characters I have come across in a very long time. His intelligence and cunning and determination have no equal. This book starts at a dead run and never lets up. The pace makes it hard to read slow enough to enjoy the ride. Each time they entered ‘negotiations’ my heart stuttered a little and my anxiety spiked. As a reader who requires an HEA, know that this one delivers but not in the way you might expect. 5 Delicious Stars!
The conclusion was worth the wait. Twists and Turns you didn’t see coming at all. Deceptions and a continuous obsession are revealed. As a lover of the Blindfold series, this is truly Nikki’s best work. She gave us a peak in the Sorid series, and delivered in the Filthy American Series. HEA.
Damn… just… DAMN! This whole series was messed up and made you uncomfortable but it was oh so hot and mesmerizing at the same time.
Nikki Sloane does not disappoint in the final instalment of the Filthy Rich American’s book. In fact, the series only gets better in The Deception. Macalister is still is overbearing, manipulative, selfish asshole self and his sick infatuation with Marist only continues to grow stronger with every protest she makes.

And Marist only grows stronger as a character. While there were times I was definitely yelling at her in my head (like screaming at her not to look, not to negotiate, and not to give him even an inch), I definitely understood that she was attempting to learn her way through this twisted world that the Hales ruled over and she only did what she thought would be her best move at the time. She may have fumbled through it a little but she never let herself fall or crumble. No matter what was going on inside of her, she rolled her shoulders back, held her head high, and but on her brave face. She became Marist Hale and owned it.

I was on the edge of my seat and holding my breath throughout most, if not all of this book. The prologue made you question so much as the book went on and I kept trying to guess what was going to happen. But nothing prepared me for that ending. While you thought one think one thing is going to happen, there is a whole addition to the ending that I was not expecting but was definitely pleasantly surprised about. The Deception was such a fabulous ending to this thrilling series!
Side note: I would not be upset if we got some bonus scenes in Royce’s POV… I’m dying to see his side of things!
I had such a wave of emotions with these books. Royce and Marist definitely had to fight to make their relationship real. While I don’t understand the dynamic of the power in that lifestyle, I had a hard time liking Marist. I couldn’t tell whether she really wanted Macalister or he really had some twisted power over her. Honestly, the relationship between Macalister and Marist made me hot and disgusted at the same time. After finishing this book, I don’t know how I feel about the whole thing. It was a good read since I couldn’t put the book down but I was mad at the same time.
I wrote this review based on an advance reading copy that the publisher sent me.
I really enjoyed this trilogy/series a lot! I’m also very glad we didn’t have to wait long between each book. I also loved how Nikki weaved in Greek mythology into this series just for something extra special added. Merit really came into her own and the ending was really well done. I can’t wait to read more from Nikki. I highly recommend this series (def. read in order).
I received this book at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
Filthy Rich Americans is a series that I didn’t know how I wanted it to end. I love the way it did though. This was the third book and the suspense was ramped up, along with the deceit, betrayal, the mind games. The taboo and naughtiness. It was INTENSE.
Marist is a fierce heroine, finding her own strength and her place in this corporate, crazy world she’s been thrust into. Royce and his father are both powerful, conniving, secretive. They play a good long game. Honestly? I would love to read future books on all the other characters finding their happy ending. I don’t wanna leave this world yet.
There were twists right up til the end. The writing was fantastic. You can’t start with this book, though, you have to go back to book one and read them in order. PS these covers are amazing!
We need more stars in the ratings!!
And…. she’s done it again. Nikki Sloane is the master of manipulation, mystery, and mind-blowing sexy situations. It’s started with The Initiation, continued with The Obsession and now it’s all coming to a head in The Deception.
Marist hasn’t had an easy time living in the Hale household. On the one hand, she’s got her hot, sexy as sin fiance, Royce. He asks her to trust him and every time, something happens… Then’s there’s Royce’s dad.
Head of the family in business as well as at home, Macalister Hale thinks all he has to do it click his fingers and Marist will fall in line with his decedent, depraved wishes. He couldn’t be more wrong.
Marist has a backbone of steel and nerves of titanium and even then, they might not be enough. It’s win at all costs, for all three of them. Who will be first to cross the finish line, though? Marist and Royce, or Macalister… or some other combination?
Treat yourself to this fabulous story, but bear in mind, it’s not a stand-alone and you have to read the previous two books first. Enjoy the binge.
Back in September, a friend of mine was at RARE London and told Nikki Sloane she couldn’t wait to see what happened with Martis and Royce in The Deception. Nikki’s response was “Yeah, me too!” Well, between then and now, Sloane got down to business and finished out this outstanding trio of books, giving Marist, Royce and McAllister the ending they deserve. Strap in kiddies, cause you’re in for a wild ride of a read!
From the prologue that will leave you gap-jawed and wondering what in the ever-lovin’ ….. to the hollllyyyy ….. “win at all costs” moves that Marist performs spectacularly, to the oh dang!!!! scenes that manipulative McAllister orchestrates, The Deception unequivocally has it all.
Marist has grown considerably from the shy, outcast, book-loving girl she was in The Initiation. She has embraced her inner Medusa and is not afraid to unleash her in ways that turn men to stone, metaphorically and literally. Marist’s brush with death gives her a different outlook; one of determination to slay her enemies and her demons. Royce, an enigma from the beginning, decides to stop taking his fiance’s intelligence for granted and opens up his mind and heart, making for scenes that are as scorching as they are touching. McAllister, the bad guy who many love to hate and many hate to love, takes his machinations to new and shocking levels.
The Deception is a delicious, diabolical, sexy chess game of a read with layered schemes and intrigue absolutely guaranteed to grab you by the throat and not let go till long after you have read the last page.
The entire Filthy Rich American trilogy is a MUST READ, ONE-CLICK masterpiece.
Nikki Sloane has written an incredible trilogy that had me reading until 3AM. Her characters are twisted and deliciously sexy. Her story is unpredictable and will keep you on the edge of your seat. And if you love the sexy tug and pull father-son competition trope, Nikki not only embraces it, but she conquers it like a warrior queen. MUST READ!
