A delicious new twist on lessons in seduction from #1 NYT Bestseller Lauren Blakely!
The rules of the game were simple.
One weekend. We play our roles. Actually, we play lots of roles.
I get the info I need for a secret work project.
We go back to how we were. That’s what I proposed to handsome, clever, commanding Jake. That’s what he said yes to — this decadent gift of a weekend that would get … get me out of trouble.
But that’s not what happened when our nights together in Vegas ended . . .

This was a fun, quick, flirty, sexy read by Lauren Blakely. This is Book #3 in the Gift Series. It is a standalone with interconnected characters. We first meet Jake and Kate in the Engagement Gift. They had that fun, witty banter thing going on, and I wondered if there was a mutual attraction between the two. Well, here we get to see that attraction come to life. Their attraction crackles and sizzles! I loved the voyeurism and role play. It was just supposed to be research for Kate but Jake had other plans. Kate wasn’t expecting her work research to turn into anything more than scratching an itch. What happens when lines are blurred and crossed? Neither want nor planned anything more than a good time. Will Kate and Jake remain friends, or will they pursue more?
I enjoyed the witty banter, flirting, and sass between Jake and Kate. There were some seriously steamy scenes that were burning up my Kindle! There were appearances from other characters in this series which I loved. The last few chapters were a delightful surprise when we get insight into some of the other characters. Overall, I enjoyed this book. I am looking forward to seeing who comes next!

Ecstasy awaits with every page turned. The Decadent Gift plays peekaboo with the senses while staking a claim on the heart. Blakely turns up the heat with humor, heart and honest emotion.
The Decadent Gift is exactly what you want plus more in a contemporary romance. It’s dirty, it’s swoony, it makes you laugh, you get a teeeny bit of WHAT ARE YOU DOING JUST ADMIT YOU LIKE EACH OTHER and a whole love of happily ever after.
What starts out as “girls night out” work research for Katie and a weekend of forgetting about work for Jake turns into a voyeur’s dream tryst. Friends who work together and run in the same social circles are not supposed to give into kinky desires but who can help themselves when the perfect opportunity is presented? Every fantasy at your finger tips with someone you’ve already been dreaming about? You don’t think twice and you don’t say no. You can feel the sexual tension between these two and man is it hot as hell! Instant chemistry, not just psychical either, it was so fun to read Kate and Jake flirt and tease each other.
Although it’s a standalone The Decadent Gift is third book in The Gift series and I am loving it. Lauren is so talented at bringing characters to life, small little connections in her series are every where and it makes her work that much more enjoyable. Im so excited for the next sexy love story to come, this series is exactly what is needed to escape from the every day and a prime example of why I love romance.
4.5 stars
Jake and Kate are best friends and have been side characters throughout this series.Kate is a top marketing agent working to dig herself out of trouble her ex created, while Jake is a lawyer married to his job. They get together with their friends, but there isn’t time left over for romantic entanglements. When Kate gets a task from her boss, she realizes she can’t give the job her best unless she has some experience with the fantasy they are selling. What better way to build that experience but to make a deal with her good friend?
These two have chemistry long before they make this deal. They constantly banter and have flirty text sessions. Their friends comment on it, but neither is ready to admit that the attraction is anything more than friendly. When they strike a deal with rules, guidelines and a time-limit, the spark between them is intense and immediate. But adding the element of a physical relationship and expecting their friendship to go back to normal afterwards causes these two to trip on their own feet when feeling pop up they weren’t expecting. Getting on the same page in order to change the rules will cause plenty of friction in their lives.
This is a story full of role-playing, people-watching, smoking hot fun as two friends navigate adding more to their friendship. Once again, Lauren Blakely has written a great combination of heart and heat, and has kept the focus on the sensual side of a city full of sin.
I loved the way this story wrapped up, as the web that had been unknowingly spun behind the scenes is revealed and several other stories are teased. I look forward to more from this series of sensuality and fun in Sin City.
The Decadent Gift was an entertaining and satisfying read. Jake and Kate have been dancing around each other since The Engagement Gift (first book in the series) and now their story finally gets told. I liked how Jake and Kate grew their relationship throughout the book. It was endearing and sweet. The text messages Lauren incorporates is great and I loved the banter between these two. They enjoyed each other’s company and it was evident whenever they interacted and got together. They were just so good together! I loved seeing the previous couples in the series and some new ones as well. I am hoping we get novellas for certain couples and I am excited for this series to continue with new ones. Overall a great read that will keep you hooked until the end.
To say Jake and Kate had a hot connection would be an understatement. From the first kiss you could feel their energy coming off the pages.
I loved that it did not take long to figure out what they wanted and they went for it. there weren’t any immature moments or silly fights. they took what they wanted and it turned out.
I also like how we got to see happy endings for Christine and Daniel and also Sidney and Anthony.
I 100% recommended this book.
Another great read in this series. This storyline is sexy and sultry. Jake and Kate’s chemistry is off the charts hot and their banter tantalizing. Absolutely worth the read.
This book was deliciously decadent! 4 stars
Kate and Jake were in the same circle of friends, but then a tipping point occurred where they both became intrigued with each other. Flirty texts and banter happened, but Kate was assigned a secret account at work, asked for Jake’s help and all bets were off. Or on, should I say! Then the chemistry sparked and sizzled between them, and this book became deliciously decadent! I loved Kate and Jake both together and separately as characters. Kate was sassy, kind, hardworking, loyal, honest, observant but burned by last boyfriend. Jake was clever, charming, loyal, confident, hardworking, and he had also been burned by his last two relationships. They made a deal/arrangement to be together for a weekend for her research, but what happens when they realize more than friendship might be brewing between them? A deliciously decadent, no-drama, quick story of two friends finally realizing they are spectacular together that I absolutely loved and recommend!

The Gift book 3, sees Jake (Yep, I’ll never forget that threesome), and Kate (once bitten and all that), two single consenting adults caught up in a game of fantasy and desire. With all this happening between Jake and Kate they both think it’s still a game, both denying that it could be something more, both intent on going back to being friends, even after their weekend of sexual awakening. Two people made for each other, two people with so much chemistry, who have so much in common. Two people I was desperate to get a happy ever after for. A light, easy and sexy read with super fun characters. I can’t wait to see what comes next from Ms Blakely. I received an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest review.
