This is the second book in the Sinclair Society series. Juliet goes to Bath looking for answers regarding her brother’s death. She goes under the guise of being a lady’s maid. There is definitely plenty of mystery and suspense which kept me interested throughout. The storyline is well-paced and the plot twists and turns made for good drama. This is a very entertaining read and I really enjoyed it. It does, however, end in a cliffhanger, so I am eager to see the story continue in the next book!

Confusing, Then Cliffhanger
I was not wild about this book. Perhaps I would have been happier with it if I had read the first book and if it hadn’t ended on a cliffhanger. I simply hate novels and novellas that end in cliffhangers, forcing you to not only wait but buy another book. The author should have been clear about this in the book description so those of us who don’t like this device won’t pick it up and be disappointed (and then write not-so-favorable reviews). I found the beginning parts of this book somewhat confusing. There’s a mystery the heroine is trying to solve, but even descriptions of what this is supposed to be seem nebulous, as do brief mentions of her place in society. There seems to be a lot of men, and it wasn’t really clear what their roles were for a while—annoying. The author perhaps wasn’t forthcoming quickly enough about some issues that were going on, and I found myself growing impatient, wanting something of significance to happen or be revealed. I considered DNFing it and almost wish I did because of the cliffhanger. All in all, this book didn’t feel worth it. I certainly won’t be picking up the next installment.
The Debutante is the second book in The Sinclair Society Series and is an enjoyable Regency mystery.
I really enjoyed this book but be warned… it ends in a cliffhanger. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series to see if Juliet is able to find the truth about her brother’s murder. This is an entertaining read and is recommended.
I read and reviewed this book with no obligation.
The second book in The Sinclair Society series. Just when it is getting really interesting we have to wait for the next book to see what is going to happen next. I want to read the next book in this serial. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Questions with no answers.
This is the tale of a young woman who is trying to find information about her brother’s death. Working as a ladies maid in Bath her mission is to solve the mystery. That seems to be not her only problem either. Conrad good guy or bad guy and what about Daniel or Oswyn and will she fined the killer? The author did a splendid job of hiding the truth, but wait for it this book is a cliffhanger we will need to read book three to see if then Juliet’s story will end. An excellent serial looking forward to the next book. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
