Jack Winchester was a notorious hitman for a ruthless New Jersey crime family until a job went wrong, and he wound up serving time. Four years later, Jack is free and he wants out of the game, but his boss won’t let him go. Forced to take on one last job to make amends for what landed him in prison, he travels to the small town of Rockland Cove, Maine. There, he not only discovers that the target … discovers that the target and money have disappeared; he finds himself falling for a damaged woman, and befriending an unruly son left behind.
Under mounting pressure from his boss and local police—as well as the ghosts of his past—he must unravel the mystery and decide where his loyalties lie…before it’s too late.
Note: Even though there is a book 2. This is a full standalone novel with a complete ending.

This is a great book with lots of very good characters and plenty of action, plus a great story line.
The only I would like is to be able to get the series on iBooks
Fair but I probably won’t read any others. Didn’t really like the characters.
Predictable
Characters were interesting and you cared to find out what happened to them.
Very interesting story.
Ended well…just enough reality of the life of a hit man, trying to leave the life..! Good read..!
Good book!!
Pretty solid book, worth a read.
Not too bad, enjoyed the twists in the story line
Jack Winchester was an enforcer for the NJ mob and just finished a 4 year stint in prison. He wants out, but Gafino, the mob boss, wants him to do one more job. He’s sent to Maine to find a man who stole mob money. Instead, he learns the man is missing, presumed dead, and his wife Dana and son Jason are running their rapidly deteriorating motel. Jack has stayed fit and hasn’t forgotten how to take care of himself. His skills come in handy when a motorcycle gang arrives at the motel, and mayhem ensues after they get fresh with Dana. Jack learns that a new enforcer, who took his place while he served his prison term, is looking to take out not only Jack, but also Dana, Jason, and Jack’s institutionalized sister. More mayhem ensues, relationships falter, and Jack’s nightmares continue. Will it ever end, and who will survive?
I liked it!
Quit reading after 20 pages. NGw
I really enjoyed this title very much. Thank you
I found The Debt Collector to be a good solid action adventure book. The author is competent in setting up his characters and situations. It did the job of a first book in a series, it made me want to read the second book. Worth the money to purchase.
Just like reading a Jack Reacher book by Lee Child. Excellent read!
An easy summertime read.
I like the story line.
OK book. Some good sections, some boring.
I really enjoyed this book! It was unpredictable, a plus, and it wound thru the maze of deceit of the ruthless criminal underworld with a little romance on the side. The main character, Jack, was attempting to leave his life as a hit man behind. But no one gets out of the mob alive. The ending was unexpected.
Fast paced, believable characters. I look forward to reading more by this author.
A Fast Read!!!!
