There are some lines friends should never cross…right?Status quo might as well be Dashiell Cabot’s middle name. He has a job he loves, a billion dollars in the bank, and a best friend named Iris who keeps his personal life running smoothly. Why would he ever want to change any of that? But when Iris Jacobs tells him she’s quitting and returning to culinary school, Dash’s beloved status quo is … beloved status quo is thrown into chaos. Even worse? The thought of her departure is forcing him to realize his feelings for her might extend beyond the friend zone.
Iris wants more out of life than taking care of Dash. She always has. And even though she could never repay him for everything he’s done for her, she can no longer afford to protect his precious status quo at the expense of her own dreams. She has no choice but to leave…unless he can give her a compelling—and possibly romantic—reason to stay.
They’ve always been just friends. That was their deal. But when all is said and done, something will be broken—either their deal…or their hearts.

Iris is ready to move on with life and soon Dash realizes he has more feeling for Iris than he is showing. Dash soon relies on his billionaire buddies for advise on how to keep Iris in his life.
Loved these characters, to see the growth of both of them through their relationship. A very easy flowing story. This is the third book in the series but can be read as a stand alone. I highly recommend.
I loved every minute of this heartwarming friends to love romance with engaging characters you feel like you know and an awesome story that I couldn’t put down and wasn’t ready for it to end when I got to the last page. I loved the friendship and sweet romance between billionaire Dash Cabot and Iris Jacobs his childhood friend who keeps his life straight but decides to quit her job with him to go to culinary school. This is the third book in the must-read Billionaires of Silicon Forest series by gifted author Melissa McClone and is my favorite in the series. If you enjoy clean and wholesome romance that you can share with all your friends and relatives, don’t miss “The Deal Breaker”. I received an advance reader copy of this book from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review.

I love anything this author writes.
Best friends to lovers are one of my favorite genres.
This one has so many different situations that it is a very fun read.
The characters are so likable that by the end of the book, they were my friends.
The plot is so well-written and engaging.
This is a 5-star read.
I’ve been looking forward to this story in the series most of all. I love best friend romances. Dash has been taking advantage of Iris’s giving nature for years as she took care of so much for him as his housekeeper, chef, and personal assistant. It wasn’t until he left her alone on Christmas to visit his girlfriend’s parents that she starts to think about putting herself first. I loved that she was an amazing chef, his friends kept trying to steal her away to cook for them, and that she dreams of finishing cooking school and having her own restaurant. It isn’t until Dash realizes that he could lose her that he starts to really see her and what she means to him. There were plenty of funny, sweet, and romantic moments in this story. This was the final installment in the series. But I feel like Henry has more matchmaking to do in the future and maybe even his own chance to fall in love.
Dash and Iris’ best friends to lovers story in The Deal Breaker is a heartwarming, sweet romance by Melissa McClone, book three in The Billionaires of Silicon Forest series. Dash and Iris have always been friends, since their school days, fearful if they were more it would ruin their friendship. Iris has always kept Dash’s life running smoothly, but she is tired of being invisible, forgotten, taken for granted. Now it’s time for Iris to put herself first; quit working for Das, live on her own, and return to culinary school. Dash is known as “Status quo” by his friends because he likes things the way they are; running smoothly. Iris’ decision and departure forces him to reexamine his life, discover that he has not been the friend he promised he would be to Iris, and also realize that his feelings for her extend past the friend zone. Dash, being Dash, he manages to screw up his attempt to show Iris how important she is to him, forgetting or missing important dinners or outings with her. Dash is in need of an intervention by his best friends; needing help to win Iris back into his life. The grand gesture Dash provides to prove his love for Iris is worth reading this story alone.
Ms. McClone wrote a wonderfully sweet and moving story that is not to be missed. This story contains fun dialogue, the magic of love, and endearing characters giving Dash and Iris a chance at love, happiness, and a future neither expected, thanks to the help of their friends. I highly recommend The Deal Breaker to other readers.

A 10 Star Romance!! I started falling in love with Dash from the first book in this series and have been waiting for his HEA to be written. It was worth the wait!! Dash and Iris are perfect for each other and all it took was a slap upside Dash’s head to make him realize it. LOL!! This story was so good and I was so taken in that I was in tears by the end. Happy tears that is. This is a story I WILL be re-reading because I loved it so much.
I was so excited to finally get Dash’s story! He has been a fun, albeit quirky, addition to the 7 friends who just happen to all be Billionaires. Dash and Iris have been friends since middle school and for the last six years she has been his personal assistant/housekeeper/chef/go-to-girl. But he has taken her for granted and not been a good friend. When he tries to remedy that things are going really well until his focus is on everything but Iris. And she finally says that’s enough. I love books where the h stands up for herself and is willing to walk away rather than to accept less than what she deserves. Let’s see how Dash wins her back!

Past hurts and dysfunctional family issues can create heart problems. Iris and Dash both deal with problems from the past and have to overcome them to see the love sitting right beside them. Heartwarming, heart wrenching and love conquers all.
This is such a fun series and I enjoyed learning about Dash’s story. This book was full of romance, angst, sexy men, and a main character that was charming one minute and made you feel sorry for him in the next minute because he never intended to fall for his best friend, Iris. She took care of his house and cooked for him but he made her feel invisible and neglected and she was ready to break their deal they made when they were thirteen to be best friends forever.
The Silicon Forest Billionaires are a fun group of men and I have enjoyed getting to know each one. This book about Dash and Iris had me quickly turning the pages to find out how the story would finally end. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
We finally get Dash’s story! Iris and Dash have been best of friends since they were thirteen. They’ve gone through so much individually and together in that time. In recent years, while they were in close proximity they weren’t close friends. Iris finally decides to work on her dreams. In order to do this, she has to leave her job and home with Dash. Dash is a man who likes the status quo. Iris leaving rocks Dash completely. It makes him realize how much he relies on Iris and how much she means to him. The book was sweet and totally pulls on the heartstrings. It was a quick read and had a satisfying ending. I received an advance copy through Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Dashiell aka Dash and Iris had always been best friends, but over the last few years Iris has noticed they haven’t done much together anymore. She’s his housekeeper and cook but she also takes that to a whole other level. A level I’m not sure even a wife would master. When her mother died and her father kicked her out the two of them had been inseparable. Now that Dash has his own very successful business and is a billionaire, it’s like she doesn’t exist. Dash even forgot her at Christmas this year as he traveled east with his girlfriend Raina for the holiday, not even a small gift. It’s time for her to follow her dreams, she’s put them off long enough.
On New Year’s Eve, Henry tried to wake Dash up by kissing Iris, Now Henry is going to visit with Iris after the guys poker game, hosted by Dash. This leads Dash to decide to confront Iris about her relationship with Henry even though he technically has no right to know anything.
He is in for quite the surprise as Iris delivers quite the blow.
Dash really hasn’t grown up in spite of his success. It’s so obvious in every word out of his mouth. Iris has done the right thing.
I truly enjoyed watching Dash dump Raina, she really deserved it. The interactions with Iris become more and more complicated as well.
I loved this book, there’s plenty going on and I just adore the character growth.
Dash and Iris have been best friends for years but in the past few she feels like just his employee. While I loved them together, he just frustrated me more than once. Kinda wish she had dated someone else for at least a little while – UGH – but not really. I loved Iris and my heart went out to her in regards to Dash – so very forgiving. There is a really sweet grand gesture that brought me back to wanting Dash and Iris to get their happily ever after. Loved the ending ending. Hoping Henry gets his own book really soon.

The Deal Breaker is a well-written billionaire romance with the billionaire being slightly quirky. Dash depends on his best friend Iris to take care of him, but he forgets to do anything to assure her of her status as his friend, not just his employee. I liked Dash and Iris and enjoyed the changes that they made throughout the story. Dash’s friend Henry has a significant role in both their lives. I look forward to reading his story. I loved how the bet ended up–it was to go to the last single man of the group, but no spoilers here. There’s a great HEA. I would recommend this to readers of clean/wholesome romance and especially to those who enjoy billionaire romances and to those who like camaraderie in their stories. I received a complimentary copy. I chose to write a review and share my opinion of this fun romance.
This is such a good book!
I’ve look forward to Dash’s story.
It’s a feel-good & emotional romance.
Dash & Iris, have been best friends
forever. She selflessly works & does
everything for Dash. Maybe now it’s
time to worry about herself.
I loved everything about this story!!
