4 Star review Daisy McDare and The Deadly Secret Affair (Daisy McDare #7) by KM Morgan
Audio Review:
Although these books are short, the author certainly manages to achieve a good amount of mystery and intrigue in these books.
This time Daisy is in Vancouver and gets even, broiled in yet another murder. When the editor in chief of her friend Chloe Wilson’s latest book suddenly turns up dead, Daisy knows she must do all she can to help her friend.
The clues are all there, and there was enough mystery and suspense to satisfy my inner Miss Marple spirit. The narrator did a good job voicing the various characters.
I listened to the audio book and I found the narrator to be very good. Her pacing and inflection is right on and she has various voices for the characters.
Daisy McDare travels to a book launch party for her friend. The party is dull and when an argument breaks out, all eyes turn to the people involved. It turns out that a cheating husband has two mistresses. When he turns up dead the next morning, Daisy inserts herself into the investigation. It’s a fun read and I enjoyed reading the book.
Trouble followed Daisy as she went to support a friend in Vancouver. I enjoyed the story and found the location a nice change as I am from there. Again, the clues were there to follow to the conclusion. I like how Daisy seems to always get the police to allow her to work the case. I continue to enjoy Donna G Soto as she narrates this series.
I received a copy of this audiobook as a gift, and this is my unsolicited review.
The Deadly Secret Affair
Daisy McDare Cozy Creek Mystery, Book 7
By: K.M. Morgan
Narrated by: Donna G. Soto
KM Morgan keeps Daisy McDare busy with the 7th book in the Cozy Creek series. Just when things are quiet, Daisy embarks on a new murder case. Her friend Chloe is a suspect and she is going to do whatever it takes to find the real murderer. When we find that Hank has been having numerous affairs and other altercations, the suspect list grows and it’s not til the very end that it is clear who the culprit is! I love these shorts with the quirky characters and hint of mystery and suspense. They take me away for a couple of hours to enjoy the community and get my brain working trying to determine the murderer! Donna G Soto provides a great narration to an always a sweet ending!

law-enforcement, amateur-sleuth, murder-investigation, punny
Daisy the decorator detective goes out of town to Vancouver and has a totally different police detective to annoy with her ability to sleuth her way through the suspects. Excellent read!
Donna G Soto continues to be great as narrator!
Daisy McDare and the Deadly Secret Affair (Daisy McDare #7), my sixth read/listen from author K.M. Morgan, although I own sixteen of her books I’d never gotten around to reading one until I read The Deadly Floral Affair. Each book has been better than the one before, a well-written clean cozy mystery. Since I own both the Kindle & Audible editions I was able to read along while listening. Narrator Caroline Shively talented narration added to the book’s enjoyment. Up next is Daisy McDare and the Deadly Rival Affair. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 – July 24, 2018).
