My name is Oliver Arsen, but my mates call me Ollie.I live hard and love harder, and it’s love that usually gets me in the most trouble. According to the greater population, I’m the ultimate jerk.My affection tends to be short-lived—a quality I’ve been assured multiple times by the fairer sex isn’t becoming—and the leaving part of loving and leaving has always come natural. At least, it used to.… has always come natural.
At least, it used to.
Until her.
Luciana Wright.
She’s an American bombshell and my sister’s best friend—a woman so wrong for
me, it’s written in the waves.
And she’s the reason we’re all here.
The reason I have to go back to explain how it all went wrong.
To the day the jerk started falling.

5 STAR Review by Jodi for Ruby Red Romance Review
I loved this book. Told from Ollie’s point of view, it’s great to see him fall. It’s great to watch his walls come down. I loved how original these stories are. Told from the point of view of a podcast…who would have though. This booked picked right up where the first left off, so you have to read the first book. I’m not sure why you wouldn’t want to anyway.
I loved watching Ollie fall. It was great to his honesty in his words. I loved watching him become the man that Lucky falls for and can finally give herself too. I loved everything about this story. It’s original, different, and refreshing. I loved that each book had its own POV. I could not put this book down. Please check out this amazing story.
Time to see a few things in Ollie’s perspective!
From “insta-hate” to “OMG I’m in love”, The Day the Jerk Started Falling continues the story about Lucky and Ollie.
The book starts with a recap and then we get to the point in which book 1 stopped and by that time I was so ready to see what was going to happen!
The duet is funny with some adorable parts and lots of Aussie moments, mate! Ollie made me swoon some more, Lucky made me laugh a lot.
In the end, I had a huge smile in my face and my belly was sore from all the laughing. I also might be still swooning over that charming, sweet Aussie!
Now, go get both books because the duet is complete and you don’t have any excuses to not meet Oliver Arsen!
P.S.: Thank you, Max Monroe, for not making us wait an eternity to read the second book!

ARC kindly received in exchange for an honest review.
Oh, where to start? I’m going to be of unpopular opinion here, I’m sure of it. But I just didn’t love this one. After we left off at the end of Lucky’s book, I was determined to know what would happen between these two.
All I got was a series of podcasts re-telling the story from Ollie’s POV, a bunch of annoying Aussie slang used incorrectly, and an ending that was fun, but also a bit lacklustre.
My main issue with this, and this is HUGE for me, is the total turnaround of Ollie being written well in his Aussie language and slang. If you read my first review, you’ll remember that I thought he was really well written in that book. But in this book? good lord all I could do was *CRINGE* . As an Aussie, I have to tell you, we really do not say sheila that often AT ALL. In fact, unless we’re joking around or something, we probably only use it when its actually someones name. And the word blimey? Used WAY too much, and in the TOTALLY INCORRECT way. As an Aussie, it didn’t even make sense for 99% of the times it was used in this book. It should’ve been the word bloody, instead. We don’t use blimey, and if we do, it’s not like that. Also, we do not greet everyone by saying G’day, contrary to popular belief. Just like the rest of you, we say hey or hello. And did the book really need to keep bringing up how we call flip flops, thongs? Yes, we do, its true, but it was mentioned too much for me.
This book, in my opinion, really needed to be proof read by an Aussie first. We really do NOT all speak like Steve Irwin or Croc Dundee. It’s an Aussie thing we make fun of, and yes we are quite ocker, but this was so over the top I nearly had to DNF the book. And for me, with a Max Monroe book, that’s unheard of. It may not seem like much to someone who isn’t Aussie, and for those people who aren’t, you may not have even noticed it, but to this Aussie, it grated on my nerves way too much, and I feel it needs to be said.
MOVING RIGHT ALONG from all that, the second half of this story was much better than the first half. Once we got to Ollie’s truth and his reveal, and then we got to the present day, things ramped up and I was really along for the ride and hoping that everything would play out the way I hoped. I like these two, and I wanted them to get their HEA. And of course, in typical MM fashion, all sorts of things happened, and everything was all over the place.
When these two finally meet back up, I was a little bit let down. There was a huge amount of build up, and then it kind of just…fell flat. I was left wondering where the moments I was hoping for were, and when they were going to happen. Everything kind of just rushed on from there, and yes there were cute little things, and some typical funny moments, but it just kind of fell flat.
While I normally love Max Monroe books, it pains me to say that this one I only just liked. It was hugely different in too many ways from the first one, and I know this is going to be an unpopular view, but I’m just one person right? So yes, give it a go, theres a good base storyline, but keep an open mind as well.
I think it’s safe to say that just like Luciana, I’ve fallen for “The Jerk”
Except this hero is anything but and honestly if I close my eyes and imagine it. I can hear Ollie’s voice smooth as silk with that delicious Aussie accent telling me how he fell for Lucky. With this book we get Ollie’s story and as in the first book this book is also told as if it was a podcast and I loved that.
The story telling in this really helped me picture everything that Ollie felt. And to say that the end of Book 1 had me dying for answers was an understatement. Thankfully we get those answers and I’ll say that I didn’t expect what those answers would be.
This story was funny, flirty and it had those key elements of a whirlwind romance. It had me fully invested and almost waiting with baited breath to see how things turned out for these two. You will understand exactly what I mean when you read it. And read this you should.
This is the side of the story we didn’t get in the first book. This is Ollie’s chance to speak his truth.
And boy does he speak his truth in a no holding back kind of way. He lays it all out there and makes you see him.
And not like that, you pervs.
You get to see how Ollie’s mind works, you get to see this love story unfold from his pov, you get the moment he fell.
Which makes sense, given the title.
But it’s those inside secrets, those little things he did, the behind the scenes manipulations just to be near Lucky that’ll have you swooning.
And his story is a good one, ladies and gents. He’ll leave you rushing through an airport, finding a rental car, and speeding through lands unknown just for a chance to be with him. Just for a chance to explore the love you know you feel. Just for a chance to be more than the story of boyfriends past.
The Day the Jerk Started Falling is everything you want in a male POV. The good, the bad, the ugly. It’s all there.
And you’re only going to fall for Ollie just a bit harder than you did before.
Dear Ollie,
As I read this book/listened to your podcast, your side of the story, my blood pressure was up…oh WAY UP. I love that you were honest but some of your decisions really, really, really PISSED ME OFF.
You are a bit cocky at times and rather unapologetic which sometimes rubbed me the wrong way…but as I continue, I myself, started falling for the jerk, right along with Lucky. (and by the way – you can rub me any way you want now!)
There were some serious swoony moments in this book. Some more of the fantastic banter between you and Lucky that made me want a sassy, cocky, surfer dude, Aussie myself.
Thank you for coming clean with Lucky, thank you for coming to your senses and being YOU!
Love always,
Louisa
I’m so happy, my heart’s so full of love it could burst; The Jerk Duet’s complete and it ends in a huge and wonderful HEA! The Day the Jerk Started Falling is the second book of this amazing duet and it picks up where book number one ended. This book is so well written and fast paced; I reached the end and kept tapping my Kindle, convinced there was more to it, upset I’d finished it so soon. I kept going back and forth, giving myself whiplash, one moment I was #TeamLucky and the next #TeamOllie. What I am is #TeamLuckyAndOllie.
The story continues with the innovative Podcasts, but this time we get Ollie’s version of the story, and what a story it is! There were moments I was so upset “listening” to him (it really felt like I was) as he was telling us what he did to win over Lucky, almost from the moment he saw her, which was ultimately his endgame. He was cocky, a full of himself jerk, while doing some pretty underhanded and calculated moves to get her attention. Not everything was what it appeared and he did everything for love, something he never expected to feel so strongly. And I love him for it!
“You’re all the things I never knew I wanted in a woman and then some, and most important of all, you’re the woman I love.”
Ollie has decided he needs to tell his version of what happened to Lucky, if she’d only talk to him, to convince her to forgive him for his cruel words and explain why he lied. Because there’s a good reason for everything he did, and he’s sure she’d understand, if only he got a chance to tell her. So, he decides to do the Podcasts, ten hours’ worth of them, hoping she’ll listen to him that way. Ollie’s so desperate; he’s convinced she has to.
“Today, I choose you. Tomorrow, I choose you. And for every day after that, I choose you.”
I really can’t go into too much of the story, no spoilers from me, but this is such a funny and beautiful story! Ollie redeems himself, and I forgave him after he spilled his guts out. I have to say I honestly was so upset by his deception, in the first book, that I really felt Lucky’s pain and anguish and I “maybe” hated him a little!
“You might go by Luck, but I think we both know, when it comes to love, you make me the lucky one.”
And Lucky is indeed one lucky woman!
Max Monroe wow wow wow Ladies. You never ever let us down. This ending to an amazing Duet proves how Freaken brilliant you two are.
This was such a different kids of love story. A real slow burn but this book was on Fire. Chemistry and banter. So many many emotions.
Getting Ollies POV was the best way to convey and help us fall for these two.
This book will make you swoon and drool. If you loved book 1 you will adore this
Grab it now and enjoy!!!
I cannot begin to express how much I loved the Jerk duet by Max Monroe. The format was original and witty and this time around a bit more angsty. Though I do not want to ruin the experience for anyone, I can say that I loved getting Ollie’s point-of-view this time around. It added too much to the story!
Hearing Ollie’s thoughts and actions during the time he spent with Lucky had me swooning. For a self-claimed jerk, he stole my heart and had me swooning. Yes, so much of what we got from Lucky was true, but there is there is so much more to Ollie. And seeing Lucky through Ollie’s eyes had me laughing so much. This is a must-read! So worth it!
I absolutely loved the conclusion to the Jerk Duet and the entire duet. This story was funny and charming and so much fun to read!
4.5 stars! Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog.
Happy reading!
#TeamOllie or #TeamLucky ??? Is it easy to decide ??? For me there’s no problem- I’m choosing #LollieSide !
I have no idea from where, and from who this crazg authors duo take their inspirations… BUT MAX and MONROE GIRLS DON’T EVER STOP !!! I’m very big fan of Max Monroe for a couple of years right now and I can assure everyone that nothing didn’t change. This women could make me cry and laugh in the same time.
Second book in this series is amazing as much as the first one. I’ve read it very, very fast… speed of light might feel ashamed After begining I couldn’t put it down.
The Day The Jerk Started Falling i PERFECTLY addition for all Lucky and Ollie story. I don’t want say too much about what readers will find in this book. We all love suprises, right ?? Some things are certain : hot guy + sexy girl = good relax
If You know Max MONROE after this series You won’t feel dissapionted.
If they new to You – be ready – The Day You fallen just started
Major swoon alert!!! Gahhhhhhh!!! Ollie!!!
I was so looking forward to getting more of Ollie. And I got it and so much more! He’s so dreamy. He’s so swoony and sexy and just everything. He’s the most perfect jerk out there. Lucky is lucky. LOL!!!
I loved the first half of the book. Getting inside Ollie’s head. It really made me love him even more. And the second part of the book played out like an epic rom-com movie in my head. It was amazing. I was laughing and screaming and swooning and just completely enjoying the roller coaster ride that Max Monroe was taking us on.
This is perfect conclusion to a fantastic duet. Although, I was a wee bit disappointed that we didn’t get more of the surf competition, but still, I loved it. And I’m really hoping for at least one spin-off from this series. *cough*Jordy*cough* Just saying.
If you’re a fan of Max Monroe, you’ll love this! If you’re new to them, this is a great place to start. You’ll be a fan in no time! #TeamOllieForever
Swoon! That’s what I did while reading Ollie’s POV. Yes, he was a jerk in The Day I Stopped Falling for Jerks, is still a jerk, BUT…he’s an adorable jerk once he put his heart on the line and bared his feelings in his own set of podcasts. I admit I didn’t much like him in Lucky’s POV, but he most definitely redeemed himself here when telling things from his own point of view. I just wish Lucky had heard his side of things much earlier. But, if she had, then the LOL funny moments as she tried to get her ass to Paris wouldn’t have happened, and I wouldn’t have been giggling like I was while reading.
So I’ll make this review short and sweet and just say that Lucky and Ollie are such an adorable couple and I love Max Monroe’s take on the jerk finally finding his lucky lady. I’ll never look at surfers quite the same!
3.5 stars. This book was a cute conclusion to the Jerk duet! In book one, we heard Lucky’s side of the story on what happened during her relationship with Ollie, told through a series of podcasts. In this book, we hear Ollie’s version of events through his own podcast. Beyond that, I won’t go into too much detail about the story so I don’t spoil anything. However, while I tried hard not to, this review may contain spoilers, so read at your own risk.
In book one, I liked Ollie, and I didn’t really feel like he was that much of a jerk, but I did think he was a little mysterious and his actions weren’t that clear. It was nice to hear what he had actually been doing with Lucky. After meeting her, he pretty quickly saw how awesome she was and began pursuing her. But he did it in a way that made it not look like he was pursuing her, because he thought that was what she needed based on a series of articles she wrote for her job to her ex-boyfriends. I liked Ollie even more after hearing everything he had done to make Lucky fall for him and how he much he adored her. I was happy that they got their act together, once their secrets were revealed to each other, and it all worked out for them in the end.
The format of the duet in which both Lucky and Ollie tell their stories through podcasts was fun and fresh. I really loved Lucky’s voice in book one and could feel the chemistry between her and Ollie. However, in book two, I think that chemistry was somewhat lost. Ollie’s retelling of events is not as descriptive of their time together, it is more of a telling of what he was doing “behind the scenes” between their times together. I think it would have helped to know Lucky’s thoughts after each podcast episode to feel like she was more included in the book. We do get to see her impression of his version of events after she listens to the podcast but it is brief and near the end of the book.
My main complaint about the book is that Ollie and Lucky are separated the entire book until the very end. At that point, we get a very brief reunion with barely any details or discussion, no real time together, and not even a kiss. There is a few “bonus scenes” with some more time together, including physical times, but it felt a little “too little, too late”. Still, I am glad the bonus scenes were included because they are cute, and without them I would have definitely felt short-changed. In the first book, I could feel the couple falling in love, but because they were separated in this book, that feeling didn’t carry over for me. I just wanted more time together. There are sweet gestures and romantic words, but it doesn’t make for much without seeing the couple together the entire book.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I did enjoy this book. It was cute. The whole duet was cute. The story is cute. It was all cute and funny. Cute is not a bad thing. It isn’t a bad book. It just wasn’t entirely satisfied with the conclusion. It wasn’t an emotional read and I didn’t feel a strong connection to the couple. Still, this book was entertaining and enjoyable the way a cute movie is. I liked Lucky and Ollie. They were a fun couple. I am glad it all worked for them and they got their HEA. The podcast format was fun and fresh. I did enjoy this duet and I’m sure you will too. So, while this is not my favorite Max Monroe book/duet, I still liked it and enjoyed it and it’s original concept. I still adore this writing duo and look forward to what they will come up with next!
Ollie Arsen is soo swoony!! It’s almost too much to handle. The Day the Jerk Started Falling was a really cute and romantic conclusion to a fabulous duet. After reading The Day I Stopped Falling for Jerks, I was so eager to get Ollie’s side of the story. Needless to say, that Aussie dreamboat has my heart. I completely fell for his charm. Oh my goodness! The ending was amazing. It felt like the cutest, sweetest romcom movie was playing out in my mind as I was reading. I absolutely adored it.
I will admit, while I did enjoy experiencing certain moments again in Ollie’s pov, I wish the story had moved to present time sooner than it did. I didn’t feel like we got enough of Lucky and Ollie together as a couple. I enjoyed the bonus scenes and the epilogue but I just wanted more of their undeniable chemistry.
Overall, I had a great time reading this duet. With its unique format, charming characters, and fun storyline, The Day I Stopped Falling for Jerks and The Day The Jerk Started Falling are definitely worth a pick up. The fab duo of Max and Monroe always deliver.
Ollie and Lucky are back! And we have Mr. Hot Stuff whispering in our ear with his POV in The Day the Jerk Started Falling. I truly felt that his thoughts brought this duet into a full circle. We love Lucky, but we get Ollie’s perspective and it only just makes him more of a jerk. But he is my lovable jerk.
Max Monroe have made a great duet and have me falling for their characters. I loved it when we got to present time. Lucky and Ollie are my favorite people in the book world. I will always be a fan of Max and Monroe!!
“Falling in love isn’t perfect. It never was, and it never will be, and to think it could be is foolish. Instead, I beg of you to join me in the imperfect.”
So funny! So witty! So swoony! I loved every minute!
The Day the Jerk Started Falling by the brilliant writing duo of Max Monroe gives us Ollie’s POV…and let me tell you, it was AMAZING! If you loved him in the first book, you are gonna fall head over heels in love with him in book two! He’s so smooth, charming, and oh so swoony. I just couldn’t get enough! It was so gratifying and entertaining to finally get into the head of Oliver Arsen, to find out how he really feels about his Lucky. Oh, you guys! I just want to squeeze these characters and never let go! Are you ready for the ultimate jerk to finally get his girl? Well, strap in and get ready for one hell of a hilarious and swoony love story!
Holy moly getting to read Ollies side of Falling is so good you cant help but fall in love with him and his whole unleashing his feelings via podcast!
The way his words were and how he bared his soul, in a sense, really endeared him to me!
I love so much about this book! How he really felt for Lucky and what lengths he went to, to be near her!
I am really proud of how the authors have written such a storyline that caught my attention from the start till it finished and I honestly cant wait for what they have in store for us next!
I loved the direction the whole book went and I couldn’t wait to see how Lucky responds!
At one point my heart was in my throat and hammering away at what would happen and I can honestly say this is the best of the duet, hands down emotionally fraught with passion, heart and soul! The ending is nailed to perfection, actually the whole book to be quite honest! I just love the characters and the way they put their heart on the line! Well fluffing done!!
The Day the Jerk Started Falling is the conclusion to The Jerk duet. The first part is told in the same unique way that the first book was told…a podcast. This time in Ollie’s POV. I love Ollie even more!! He opens himself up and makes himself vulnerable. The second part takes place in the now and told in dual POV. Lucky was absolutely hysterical. Books like this are why Max Monroe remain automatic one-click authors for me!
I can’t adequately put into words how much I was anticipating getting my hands on this book! I LOVED the previous book and simply had to know what happened next with Ollie and Lucky, a couple I had come to care deeply for in the first book.
The previous book, The Day I Stopped Falling For Jerks was told from Lucky’s POV through a serious of podcasts, a form of storytelling I enjoyed greatly. This book is Ollie’s story and again included podcast storytelling. I expected this book to simply be a repeat of the story told in the first book, but with Ollie’s POV, along with an updated HEA ending. That’s not at all what I got. Well yes, we get the HEA ending, but Max Monroe took me for a spin, with twists and turns I didn’t see coming. (I LOVE when authors can surprise avid readers like me)
In this book you get to know Ollie better. If you loved him in the previous book, you’ll love him even more in this one. It’s clear Lucky made her mark on him, because the Ollie in this book is so very different from the Ollie Lucky first met. Expect many swooning moments in this book.
With this book, the duet is complete. I give both this book and the duet five stars. I was generously provided an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
