I’m Luciana Wright.Everyone calls me Lucky, but when it comes to love, I’m anything but.I have a long history of dating the wrong men.You know the ones I’m talking about. The beautiful, charming guys who are quite literally too good to be true. The ones who are impulsive in love and prefer short flings over long-term relationships.I’m talking about the jerks. The guys who taste so good, but are so … the jerks.
The guys who taste so good, but are so very bad.
After going through the most ridiculous breakup in the history of breakups, I thought I’d learned my lesson. I officially put myself into jerk rehab and committed to changing my ways.
But, let’s be real here, love is never that easy.
Especially when an arrogant, charming, he-devil of a sexy alpha man gets involved.
Aussie accent.
Tanned skin.
Muscular, surfer bod.
Gorgeous brown eyes.
And the kind of sexy smile that brings women to their knees.
Oh, did I mention that he’s also my best friend’s brother?
Yeah. This story, my story, it’s a real doozy you guys.
The day I stopped falling for jerks, I met Oliver Arsen—the biggest jerk of all.

Something a little different from Max Monroe!
The Day I stopped Falling for Jerks is part one of a duet that gives us the perspective of Lucky Wright as she falls for the swoony Ollie Arsen. It is really interesting to see this story unfold. I really cannot wait to see how the second part of this duet unfolds from Ollie’s perspective and to get some answers!
Max Monroe has given me another amazing read and a week is still too long before I get the conclusion!
Wow not even sure what to say in this review, besides of course I absolutely loved it, and need more like now. Lucky is so very unlucky at love, always falling for the wrong ones. Or maybe it’s her not willing to find the right one. Ollie is, well he is the hot Aussie, high on life, high on himself and definitely high on Lucky. These two made me laugh so much I almost dropped my ereader in the bath, but they also made me giggle like a little girl at the new love they were finding.
The Jerk That Wasn’t
WOW! I absolutely loved Lucky and Ollie! This is my favorite story to date by this dynamic author duo!
This story is told from Lucky’s point of view as a podcast. She’s telling her story about her ex-boyfriends and well as the newest jerk she’s trying to resist, Ollie. She doesn’t hold back in her honesty. It’s both refreshing and funny.
Lucky is just awesome. She’s a bit quirky, a mess at times, hilarious and can totally hold her own. She’s a writer and has just been given an on-location assignment for a surf competition. She will be traipsing across the globe with a bunch of surfing hotties and then giving her unique perspective on the sport and her experience.
When Lucky arrives in Australia, she is met by her bff’s brother, Ollie. He’s a former surf champion who is well known in the sport. He is nothing short of a Surf god. He’s totally hot, has an accent (swoon) and the body that looks to be cut from stone.
Too bad that Lucky has sworn off Jerks…because Ollie seems to be the biggest one of them all.
This is a slow burn romance with an epic build up and and incredibly HOT culmination! I adored both of these characters and their sex-charged banter. This was a fantastic story and I look forward to the second book in this duet. I cannot wait to get Ollie’s perspective.
Dare I say it!?! Best Max Monroe book to date. No joke, people. I absolutely loved this book! I laughed, I cringed, and I had butterflies in my stomach. If you love a good slow burn, this is totally your book.
#TeamOllie or #TeamLucky? Well, it is safe to say I am #TeamOllieandLucky. Ollie is charming and so darn sweet, and an Aussie accent to boot? Sigh… I would really like to give examples of how sweet Ollie is, but I don’t want to take anything away from future readers. Just take my word for it and read this book. Okay now, let me talk about Lucky for a second. She is as endearing as they come. I loved her wit and sass! I would truly listen to her podcast in real life. Ollie and Lucky had a spark from the start, but Lucky has sworn off jerks. This led to some great banter between these two and some comedic gold in Lucky’s inner dialogue.
I love the way Lucky’s story was told and can’t wait for Ollie’s side of the story! Great job, Max Monroe (insert slow clap)!
This book knocked me off my feet. I was not expecting what I read and I mean that in a totally good way. I am in love with this book. Lucky and Ollie captured my heart the moment they met. First, Ollie, is an Aussie, well say no more. That accent, swoon! You had me at G’day mate. I don’t think he actually said that but you get my drift. Lucky, is the girl every one of us can identify with. She seems to be looking for love in all the wrong places. Or should I say all the wrong people?
Due to circumstances, Lucky is put into a situation she knows absolutely nothing about and taken out of her comfort zone. Ollie, is the brother of her best friend, Allie, who is supposed to help her out and show her around. He’s a little cocky, or should I say self assured. He’s a guy who’s confident and a bit of a smart mouth. To add to that he is devastatingly handsome. Lucky wants to do a good job. It’s in her nature to be the best at what she does. She’s decided he is one of the jerks she needs to stay away from. It’s time to clean up her life. So she’s ready to take action. However, she does require his help so they must spend some quality time together. Unfortunately, he is just the type she usually is drawn to. So she must put her best guard up. To sort of quote one of Lucky’s lines, “It was a regular f…ing Betty Crocker recipe for disaster”.
The story is told in a unique and fresh way. I don’t do spoilers but believe me, I want to!
This book brought all the feels and I didn’t want it to end. It’s a cliffy and I’m not mad about that. That just gives me more story to love. I just wish the second book was already out. It’s funny, poignant, quietly steamy, you’ll get butterflies in your stomach. You’ll be rooting for everyone. Unfortunately, there’s always twists and turns you’re not expecting. The secondary characters are even great.
It’s a real story you can relate to. Sometimes we don’t realize how others see us. There’s consequences for every action we take, whether it’s good or bad.
I stayed up all night reading this book. I couldn’t put it down. It sucked me right in from the moment I read the first page and held me captive until I quietly yelled, “ What the hell”! Hey it was 7:20AM when I finished. I looked for spoilers read the author notes. I did anything to give me insight. Unfortunately, I’ll have to wait. On the day the second part is released it will be in my hot little hands. These authors are masters on every level, they draw you in, keep you laughing and bring all the feels. I need to stop cause I’ll just keep repeating myself. I’ll end with this is a book that you deserve to read.
