It’s complicated.
What’s complicated?
My life!
Six kids, two stepchildren, a dead husband, a nanny with multiple personalities, and a crazy wig-wearing, drug-selling, sex addict mother is only half the story.
Just when I decide to get my act together by putting down the bottle, my daughter decides to throw a party.
This is bad, very bad.
Our parties never go as planned. I can feel the … bad, very bad.
Our parties never go as planned. I can feel the mayhem brewing.
Just when I’m ready to throw in the towel when it comes to men, in walks a hot cowboy that kicks my libido in the nuts!
How can I possibly turn my life around with all this going on?

There were some enjoyable moments where I thought this was funny, but overall I thought the humor was forced. I think there are too many characters to effectively switch points of view, making it difficult for the reader to keep them straight, especially once the storyline progresses and there are more minor characters. The characterization would be tighter with fewer characters, thus making the humor organic and less contrived. By far the most authentic characters are Yaya and Daisy. Regardless, I enjoyed reading the book and anticipate Dare to Enter to be a fun series.
Wow this book will draw you in instantly, the storyline is fun and the characters are just crazy and is fun to read their interactions.
This was an entertaining story mainly due to the crazy characters the author created and their strangely addictive strangeness. I loved the interactions between the cast of characters who dominated this book. I found it enjoyable to read and glad that I’m not in their family.
Just the absolute best story. Everything I like to read about and more. Such a great story I will read again and again. A keeper!!

This story is hilarious, wild, crazy, funny and I loved it. Lucy’s husband has passed away and she is left with six children , of various ages, and her parents are there too. Her mother is crazy ( you will have to read to see just how wacky she is), and her children all have issues. This is their journey of just trying to find their new normal after the past year of grieving and dealing with in laws. I can’t wait for the next book.

If at any point you’ve ever felt embarrassed by your family, you should give this book a read. It will remind you that even though your kin have probably been a hot mess at holidays, the Davenports take it above and beyond. Quirky would be a tame way of describing some of the family members, though when you look at the reasons some of them are acting as they do, it starts to make sense. There was one moment where I could relate so much to Lucy, and anyone whose hit that level knows the feeling. It’s a wild ride of funny moments with characters that are dealing with problems that you can really sympathize with.

Love the Davenport’s
Complete and Total chaos!
This is season one and it ends on a bit of a cliffhanger – as most season finales do
Let’s start with the characters – I enjoyed every one of them – from the outlandish grandmother to the multi-faceted nanny – The cast is a top rated mix of eccentric and entertaining – I laughed, I cringed, I really really disliked (wait for the antagonists)
The storyline is multi-POV each character getting their turn in the spotlight -we are introduced to the different members who make up the Davenport family and given small glimpses as to how each of them is coping (or not coping) with the recent dramatic changes in their lives
This was such an unexpected and humorous story that at times bordered on the edge of outlandish and insane – A definite must read
A wonderful book and funny book that was so hard to put down, I laughed so much while reading. I personally loved this book and can’t wait to read the next.
Wow a crazy, dysfunctional and wild story and family. I’ve honestly never read anything like this before. It was entertaining I’ll say that but I don’t know just so crazy. It reminded me of a TV show. So if you’re looking for something different and off the walls check this out.
Wow, you think your family is bad??? Well meet the craziest family ever, The Davenports!!! This is one of the most unique stories I have ever read!!! Witty, laugh out loud funny, naughty, and so much more!!! Now I have to read the rest of the books in this zany series!!!
If you love watching soap operas, you will love this book. Very funny story and characters that will have you shaking your head, as well as laughing at the antics.
4 out of 5 stars
This is a warning be prepared to laugh and you will snort and laugh some more . Lets meet the Davenports. Lucy who’s husband died awhile ago and the family has gone down hill since then . When plans to throw a birthday party for her half sister things , well lets just say that things don’t go as planned . Will Lucy ever get the family she wants or will the bombshell dropped Mark’s parents send everyone into even more chaos .
I must say when I started this book I couldn’t help but laugh the characters are hilarious . Poor Lucy all she wants is a family that isn’t so dysfunctional. She is still trying to find her feet after her husband’s death . She is the mother of 6 and has buried her feeling in countless men and many bottles of liquor . She is so funny and honestly you just want to wrap her up in a blanket and tell her everything will be ok . She tries to rein in her kids but kind of fails at it . You guys will love her . OH and then there is grandma or yaya . You will love her , she is one sharp old lady that doesn’t really care what anyone thinks of her . She is a bright wig wearing contraband selling lady that rules the nursing home with her little blue pills . Then the other character I absolutely fell in love with is Daisy , Lucy’s nurse . She is the one that cracked me up the most cause let me tell you . You honestly don’t know what you are getting with her . She has multiply personalities and you honestly don’t know what personality is going to come out at what time . She is so cool to read, especially when she is slutty Poppy .
There are so many characters in this story that will have you laughing so hard . You will have to pick your favourite on your own.
When you dive into this book , its like a train wreck and you just have to find out what the heck is going on . The authors take us on one hilarious adventure with such wonderfully written characters . Each characters personality just jumps off the page and you can’t get enough of them . For all this books zaniness and hilarity . There are some deeper things that are going on with the characters . That you get to see as you get deeper into the book . What drives them to do the things they do and the consequences for their wackiness. I would love to spend five minutes in the authors brain just to see how they came up with all of this wackiness Oh yeah fyi there is a lot of dropping the f bomb and sexual content in this book so if those bother you . It might not be the book for you .But if you like the wackiness and don’t mind the sexual content and f bombs you will love this book. Take a chance on this book you will love the train wreck and maybe help you realize that your family is a lot better off then you think . LOL . So if you want a laugh out loud book check it out and add it to your winter reading list .
I received an advanced copy and I am voluntarily leaving my review. This book was definitely a crazy ride. This is a MUST read and ONE-CLICK.

I could tell you all the little details about this story, like names and places. It could be like one of those private jokes someone tries to tell you, while they are laughing so hard that you actually have no idea what they are talking about so you just stand there with a pasted on smile while they pat your are and say ” I guess you had to be there “. Instead I get to tell you that this series is a contagious riot (Love me some YaYa) of dysfunctional humor that does contain some sexual content . If you are anything like me, this story will make your day.
I was given this book to read in exchange for a review. What a mishmash of craziness. Loved it though. I also enjoyed the variety of POV’s, it made it so much more entertaining. Really looking forward to this series and what all these crazy / “mysterious” characters bring.
Provided with a free ARC for an honest review. Crazy book with a wild mishmash of characters and very little plot, just a series of silly situations. Couldn’t find enough to like about any of the characters with the possible exception of Cowboy Troy. Yaya is just plain nuts, but at least she has some funny moments. My sense of humor obviously is not on the same page as the authors.
Crazy does not even begin to describe this book. I laughed so hard at all of the antics this family gets into. It is insane, outrageous, a little heartbreaking and oh so much fun!
Poor Lucy Davenport has lost her husband and is left to raise her very eclectic brood of children. Her parents try to help but Yaya’s version of help is really no help at all. Pop’s tries to be level headed but he is so in love with Yaya that he is a bit indulgent.
Ford, the oldest son, decides he is the man of the family and has to man-up when his mom hits the bottle and can’t function as she once did. Gemma tries to be the co-head of household and keep everyone from going off the rails. Sadly, even her stoic attitude can’t keep the chaos from happening.
One, drug dealing grandmother, one nose-in-the-air grandmother, stuffy grandfather, an Uncle, a Cowboy, Porn production renters, along with her snooty half-siblings, and a multi-personality wielding Nanny gathering for a birthday party, gives Gemma and Lucy are the perfect ingredients for mayhem. Add to that, Lucy’s demanding in-laws drop a bombshell on her that has her running for that bottle again. I can’t wait for the next episode. It should be just as surprising.
This book featuring a crazy, sex-obsessed family was a hoot! There was a lot going on, you just need to pay attention to who’s doing what (and which face of Daisy we’re seeing). It was funny, outrageous, and sexy hot. Loved it!
The book is a good storyline that is captivating and entertaining. The characters are intriguing, humorous, and well developed. I did like reading this book.
Omfg!!! I loved this book!! It was so off the wall funny and crazy and right up my alley!!! I love the crazy blue pill selling, crazy about sex, always trying to make money grandmother also known as Yaya!! I mean love her!!! Daisy and all her characters are will have you rolling!! Ford is all hot and that’s enough for me…lol The “littles” are a riot!! Especially Bets and her Frankie!! Bryant too and his outfits!! Lord I think I might be related to this family if it wasn’t for the rich part!!! I couldn’t stop reading this book once I started it!! It was like watching a train wreck but not a bad thing!!! Like I know not everyone will love this book with the multiple pov’s and all the crazy shenanigans that happen in this book but if you love to laugh and you don’t have a stick stuck up your you know what then give this book a shot I think you will love it!!! – By Tina
