It’s complicated.
What’s complicated?
My life!
Six kids, two stepchildren, a dead husband, a nanny with multiple personalities, and a crazy wig-wearing, drug-selling, sex addict mother is only half the story.
Just when I decide to get my act together by putting down the bottle, my daughter decides to throw a party.
This is bad, very bad.
Our parties never go as planned. I can feel the … bad, very bad.
Our parties never go as planned. I can feel the mayhem brewing.
Just when I’m ready to throw in the towel when it comes to men, in walks a hot cowboy that kicks my libido in the nuts!
How can I possibly turn my life around with all this going on?

Crazy sitcom style story. Many individual plots with interleaved themes told from several different perspectives.
I received a copy of this book as a gift. I am leaving my honest review
It’s very hard to review this book, it’s crazy, funny, it’s jumps all over to show each character….you have to read it.
The Davenports are a bunch of wild and crazy people dealing with some heavy situations. This story made me laugh and drop my jaw numerous times. I love how you get to see the story through multiple characters view points, it definitely keeps it interesting! Can’t wait to see what happens to the Davenports. Oh and they sure know how throw a wild party!
Every family has its skeletons but the Davenport family takes it to a whole new level. The dysfunctional way this family works will lighten your mood and have your stomach aching from laughter. Yaya stole my heart from the moment I met her and don’t even let me get started about the nanny! I can’t wait to read the next installment….
I read this book thanks to the authors as an ARC. They warned us on how crazy the characters were. I loved how this book bounced all over to cover the characters. (Normally I don’t like that). Once I started reading I could not put down. I can’t wait for the rest of the series. An excellent book. I could relate to some of the story since I am a widow. Glad the mother pulled herself together.
Wow what a ride! One widow, her parents, six kids, and a nanny with multiple personalities. This story is told in multiple POV’s and kept me turning the pages. Lots of drama, but under it all is a family love like no other. When times are tough they bond together for their family. And rough times are coming… can’t wait for the next installment.
4.5 Stars
Wow I don’t have many words for this book, but you need to read it!
This family they are everything, they are too much and not enough at the same time. I want them as my own life would never be boring!
Yaya is hilarious, Daisy/Tommy/Slutty Pepper just wow, I cannot wait to see what happens in the next chapter with all of these amazing characters.
Talk about a wild and crazy story where anything goes. This is one insane and dysfunctional family. You’ll find yourself laughing so hard you’re almost crying. If you’re easily offended this book might not be for you. Be warned, the language and some of the antics are over the top and anything goes. I read a reader copy via Booksprout and voluntarily chose to write a review.
Wow crazy isn’t strong enough to describe The Davenports I’d say they certifiable. You have a viagra pushing grandma, nanny with multiple personalities, and a mother that has been out it since her husband died. The children have issues as well not to mention her husbands parents and children from his other marriage. You get a party of epic proportions in every way possible. You don’t want to spoil anything but be prepared this is the start to a hilarious series that you will find your self laughing out loud.
I can not wait for the next book in this series. Funny, off the charts bat crazy this family will have you rolling. Between the sass and dysfunction that goes on you won’t know what is about to happen next until it does. A great read that is for sure. Lucy finally gets her act together after mourning her husband only to have his holier than thou family try to wreck her chaos. The pieces of the puzzle that are her family comes together to eccentrically glue themselves together to make a stronger than ever bond . A multi colored wig wearing grandma will have you questioning your own crazy grandma in a good way. A nanny with multiple personalities adds spunk and a little more crazy to the mix. This book is something you don’t want to miss this year!
CRAZY does not even cover this family – INSANE would be more like it. Between the nanny with the multiple personality disorder, the drunk mother, a sibling that thinks he is an action hero, another that has an invisible friend and another that is an uptight virgin, you think the family cannot get any worse. But low and behold you have the grandma who peddles viagra and rents out part of the family compound to Porn stars who needed a new place to tape the next episode of their show. I never have laughed so hard while reading a book before. This is a must read as it will make you believe that your family is actually normal!!
This is a book about the entire Davenport family. Told in alternating perspectives by the entire family. This was a raunchy, fun read. The voices of the characters were distinct. Between the over-sexed drug dealing grandma, a multiple personality nanny, and an alcoholic mom it was a riot. Add in the remaining family members, and way too much fun ensues.
If you are looking for a sweet read this is not the book for you. The book ends a good stopping point, but with plenty of unanswered questions. Can’t wait for the next episode.
Bravo Ladies! This book definitely lived up to the hype! This one had me laughing, gasping & shaking my head. I can’t wait until the next part! That was incredible!
