A great story, I really didn’t want it to end. Highly recommend.
Sir Arthur C Doyle would approve of this next-generation book. It’s all there: Baker Street, Watson, mystery, several next-generation characters, Murder, and lots of Homage to the Originals. Great reading with a cup of tea on a foggy day.
Watson Junior’s infatuation seemed a bit unrealistic. This book moved slowly for me.
While some might doubt the genetic theory posited, her dad would have been proud.
Being a Sherlock Holmes fan, I enjoyed this new angle very much. The plot was a bit contrived and predictable but that made it no less fun and the characters were delightful. I can’t wait to read the series!
I love Watson Sr. is one of the characters in the book.
A great book with great characters
This book is a very good murder mystery for those that like to solve smart crimes. With each character brings a new dynamic of intelligence balanced with realistic principles. I recommend this book for anyone who is a lover of the classic Sherlock Holmes mysteries, as this new continuation will surely keep you on your toes. I thought this book was a great way to portray the never ending legacy of the dynamic detective duo, that we all know and love.
If you are a Sherlockian , it’s hard to resist.
This is a historical mystery featuring an update version of a Sherlock Holmes complex mystery. In this version, it is Sherlock’s daughter and Watson’s son. While walking with her son, Sherlock’s daughter see a man fall to his death. Meanwhile the original John Watson and his son, both doctors, are asked to look into the death and see if it was suicide or murder. They go to interview Sherlock’s daughter and grandson. The collaboration begins.
The characters are extremely well crafted and integrated into the overall mystique of the Sherlock story. They had engaging personalities with amazing strengths. They compliment each other so well and engage the reader into their adventure. The story is told from the point of view of the younger Dr. Watson giving insight into his thoughts, feelings, motivation and actions. The narrative allows the reader to visualize the era in which the story takes place. The storyline flows smoothly and quickly. The mystery is full of numerous suspects, multiple baffling clues, danger, dead ends, action, surprises and suspense. An added feature is that the characters are are more well rounded and romance is blooming. This was a wonderful story, well written and I look forward to more books about these characters.
This was an entertaining book. As one who has read Sherlock Holmes I could believe this woman was his daughter. I even recommended it to my husband who also enjoyed it.
Delightful extension of original Sherlock Holmes entourage!
One of the best attempts to continue the characters and story lines of the original
I enjoyed this book
Tedious reading.
The idea that Sherlock Holmes had a daughter who just-naturally inherited his abilities was OK, but to depict Dr Watson as having no understanding of the daughters observations, in the case, were a poor choice by this author.
I DO NOT recommend this book.
Looking forward to getting more of these stories.
Well written, interesting
Good book with a real twist.
Really enjoy the characters.
