This book had a little bit of everything…..drama, laughs, chemistry and love! I love the way Emma brought the characters together. The story was equal parts love and hot as hell chemistry that you won’t be able to put down.
3.5 stars
I had high expectations for this story, I literally couldn’t wait to get my hands on it after reading The Hook Up Experiment, I was super excited and I knew there would be a lot of bickering between Chloe and Dom and an explosive chemistry. I was definitely right about that but I didn’t love it as much as I thought I would and that’s mainly because I couldn’t quite understand some of Chloe’s dramas. Don’t get me wrong, I liked this romance, I just didn’t love it as much as I thought I would.
Chloe and Dom have been working together for a long time, Chloe has been in love with Dom forever (and I do mean forever!) but she knows they would be a disaster if they got together, especially because she would probably kill him as soon as he lost his keys, which happens quite often. Anyway, they have different personalities and Chloe needs to get over Dom and find someone suitable for her: reliable, steady, not related to her best friend, etc. It’s not easy to be in love with your best friend’s brother aka your business partner who is also the exact opposite of what you’re looking for in a relationship.
Dom is constantly forgetting and losing things, he is definitely, like Chloe calls him once, a num-nuts. He knows Chloe since he was a child, he has been in love with her for years but he knows she hates him and he doesn’t have a chance with her. But he can’t help wanting her fiercely. He thinks he needs to see her move on with her life with another man to be able to forget her. He just wasn’t expecting that he would be the one to choose her soulmate.
I really liked Dom, his sense of humor and his forgetfulness made me laugh several times, the fact that he was hot and smart didn’t hurt either. I did struggle to understand Chloe sometimes, she was constantly jumping between hot and cold angry, she was almost acting like a teen. I also think that, maybe, I just needed more of Dom and Chloe in a relationship together and a little less of build up.
Overall, The Dating Experiment is a sweet, funny, enjoyable, fast paced romance with lots of banter and sexual tension. I really liked the epilogue, it was also awesome to reconnect with the gang (I know I’ve said this before but I absolutely love Peyton, she’s definitely my favorite character!).
The Dating Experiment is the second book in the The Experiment series by the hilarious, Emma Hart. You can read it as a standalone but I do recommend reading the the previous books to get the full effect. I first met Chloe in The Upside of Being Single, and I have been waiting for her and Dom’s story ever since. It was fucking worth the wait.
Chloe has been in love with her best friend’s older but less mature brother, Dom, since she learned how to spell the word love. That’s twenty-two years of watching him with other women. The last five years working side by side with him in the office at Stupid Cupid, their dating site. It has been torture but she is finally determined to get over him. That is why she asks him to match her, only she didn’t expect him to want her to match him. Plot twist. No, that’s not the biggest one. That one comes later when the asshole kisses her.
Chloe has dreamed about Dom’s kisses forever! Now, it just fucking confuses the shit out of her. Why would he do that? Did he just want to shut her up? They fight daily. It’s their thing. But, not once has he gone that far to make her speechless. She doesn’t know what to do. She was trying to get over him after all these years of wanted to get under him. Now what?
Dom and Chloe’s relationship is complicated. They fight. They protect. They fight some more. But it’s the little things they don’t notice that keep them going without knowing it. They drive each other insane but never once have they truly hated one another. It’s just their way. Fighting like cats and dogs. But, don’t worry, they wouldn’t kill each other. They need life insurance policies in place first. Lol.
Anyway, I love their story. It’s not about all roses and butterflies. It’s more pizza and donuts. I thought the fighting made it more real. It’s frustrating at times but it’s them! That’s how they work. They make me want to scream at them but at the same time I am laughing so hard. And other times, I get all hot and bothered with it. It’s a great combo, really.
Overall…it’s a fast read that will keep you swiping the pages. It’s hilarious, sweet, and sexy. I just love them and their friends.
P.S. You will want to watch Friends when you are done. I know I do!
Quotes:
There was a fire in her. A wildfire. The kind of wildfire that would take forever and a day to put out.
And I wanted to stoke it.
“I’m the oldest. And, technically, I just kind of assumed command around here naturally.”
“Why? Because you’re the alpha male?”
“Well—”
“The nail on my baby toe is more alpha than you.”
“I really want to jump in here, so you don’t dig yourself a deeper hole with that statement, but I want to see you talk your way out of it.”
The Dating experiment is a follow up to the Hook Up Experiment and follows Chloe’s story. We’ve already met two thirds of this best friend trio and quite frankly, I think I need to go on a girls night out with them, it would be such fun. Chloe has been in love with her best friend’s older brother FOREVER! He has been there for all the embarrassing, pubescent antics that she has gotten into – and there were a lot!!!. But she can never act on her feelings as Dominick is also her business partner and co-owns the dating site they founded together. In order to get over Dominick, she asks him to find her the ideal date, what could possibly go wrong. I love the interaction between Chloe and Dominick and between Chloe and her best friends. This is a light, fun read, that made me laugh and kept me entertained.
How did I dislike this book, let me count the ways:
1. I didn’t like Chloe at all. She was mean, irrational and belittling to Dom. Why he loved her was beyond me.
2. This was supposed to be a RomCom and it was neither a Rom or a Com. I couldn’t figure out why these two supposedly loved each and what the author thought was witty banter was just Chloe’s annoying whining.
3. I hated Peyton, Chloe’s BFF and Dom’s sister. She knew that these two had been in love with each other since high school, yet didn’t let either of them know.
4. Everyone seems to think Dom is this horrible person because he is a bit scatterbrained. He is not cruel, doesn’t cheat, just loses his keys on occasion. Oh the humanity!
I had a real hard time getting through this book, and will not be reading the other books in the series.
The Dating Experiment by Emma Hart was a laugh-out loud read.
Whenever I pick up a new novel from Emma, I know that I am in store for a fabulous read. This novel is exactly that. Not only does Emma give you the hilarious moments that will have your side hurting, but also the more tender moments that truly show off the characters connection and chemistry between one another. In addition to the chemistry, Emma has this way of getting the readers to connect with the characters. You feel like you know them on a more personal level. You want them to get their happily ever after.
Emma Hart is one of my all time favourite authors. I will read whatever she writes, as I know it is bound to be amazing. I definitely suggest you all pick up her novels as well.
5/5 Stars!

An entertaining story especially when Chloe gets together with her besties Mellie and Peyton. Their banter was hilarious. Their friendships are truly wonderful.
I rather liked the fact that Dom and Chloe argue as much as they do and it kinda solidifies their friendship to an extent especially since they co pwn Stupid Cupid. When Chloe asks Dom to find her a date, in a roundabout way…well Dom says she’s to find his match. Can these two get along and come to terms that neither of their feelings will ever go anywhere?? Can they follow through on their respective dates?? I enjoyed the dilemmas, the drunken funny moments and the story was good. I liked the characters and seeing how Mellie and Peyton’s relationships were going too.
A good read!

Best friend’s brother
Frenemies
Friends to lovers relationship
I really love this series and both books. As the previous one this was also fun, endearing, enjoyable, snarky with so much heart and humor.
This is Chloe and Dom’s book. I enjoyed getting to know them more and reading their journey to HEA.
I love the idea of Dom and Chloe’s business, that they are business partners and also loved the banter between Chloe and Dominic. It was the highlight of my reading because they both were so sarcastic, dorky and funny. They have feelings for each other (since childhood – for Chloe and later we find out that Dom’s also in love with her) but neither of them is willing to admit and treat each other passive aggressively. Dom is scared he isn’t good enough for Chloe (and Chloe thinks how their relationship as business partners will change). Their chemistry and tension are intense; push and pull exist. Chloe and Dom’s relationship is unorthodox: it’s fun, angsty, crazy, impossible with a lots of banter, sarcasm, arguing and ridiculousness but it works for them. They simply click and match each other. They have such an opposite personalities: where Chloe is organized and responsible, Dom is forgetful and sometimes irresponsible. But he’s also charming, so lovable, sweet and caring. I loved Chloe’s sass and isn’t afraid to speak her mind. What makes me love them even more is the fact that they are constantly arguing about everything but that makes them them.
The characters were well developed, real and enjoyable. It was easy to connect with them. The writing flowed and captured me from the beginning. I liked the epilogue and what characters were up to. If you haven’t read Emma Hart’s books yet I highly recommend you do so.
I have been eagerly anticipating Chloe and Dominic’s story ever since meeting these two in Upside to Being Single and I found myself even more excited after reading The Hook-Up Experiment, the first standalone in The Experiment Duet!
The Dating Experiment is a sweet, sexy and hilariously entertaining romantic comedy written by the amazingly talented Emma Hart! In the past year this lady right here has been one of my go to authors when it comes to this genre because to me she is truly a QUEEN of ROMCOM! Her stories are all incredibly unique and I know that I am always in for a barrel of laughs when I pick up one of her books. Oh I can’t forget her characters back and forth bickering that will have readers falling more and more in LOVE with her unique writing style.
I think that it is safe to say that Chloe and Dom are my favorite Emma Hart book couple yet! These two have captivated my heart in a way that none of her other couples have ever done before. Their chemistry is undeniable, even if neither one of them realized that the other one has loved them for just as long. Sometimes love can be blind, but a push in the right direction will certainly lead to a happily ever after!
This story is one of my favorites of 2018 for sure and I cannot wait to see what the QUEEN of ROMCOM comes up with next! Her romantic comedies are surely some of my all-time favorite reads and I have no doubt in my mind that I will be reading this author’s work for years to come! Readers if you are looking for a full of laughs and romance then you can’t go wrong with picking up a copy of The Dating Experiment, or anyone of Emma Hart’s romantic comedies today!
Chloe and Dom are the king and queen of finding love… for others. Now if only they could wake up and smell the roses when it comes to one another. Chloe has been in love with Dom for years, but her friends are right, wasting away for the dream of a fantasy is no way to live. Bound and determined to get over him, she ends up in a bet with him to find one another’s ideal mate. Dom has carried a torch for Chloe Collins forever. They fight like cats and dogs and she seems to have no love loss for him, so it’s time to find a way to move on. He never expected her bet or for it to so clearly set in to focus that regardless of what his brain is saying the heart wants what it wants. Chloe is his golden ring and he’s not giving it up without a fight.
I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book.

Review Chloe notices certain things about her man, “you just seem… weird,” Chloe said. “For one, you’re working half naked.” Dom really is into goading his woman, “I get it. It’s not bad, is it?” I motioned to my body. “I work for these abs. They’re too good to be kept under a shirt. Look away, Chloe.” Dom sometimes doesn’t have to experience things twice in order to get a hint, “…then grabbed my boxers. There was no use in me trying to wake her up—I’d done that once before, and I’d almost lost my left ball, so I wasn’t going to do that again anytime soon.” Dom is slowly learning that he snoozes he loses, “…it took her seconds to pull off the lid of the Ben and Jerry’s tub. She dug her spoon in before I’d even unzipped my pants, for the love of God.” I liked this book, I loved Dom.
An enemies to lovers romance always has some the steamiest scenes. The passion and emotions run high in Emma Hart’s latest! Chloe has spent years lusting after her best friend’s brother. What makes it more difficult is that the two are in business together. Luckily (or UN-luckily considering her feelings) Dom isn’t the sharpest tool in the business shed so the spend most of their time bickering as Chloe corrects his mistakes. Still the heart wants what the heart wants, and Chloe’s is stuck on Dom. But enough is enough and Chloe has finally decided to do what she must; they run a matchmaking company, so let them find each other a match. And boy does it go downhill fast!
Dom’s been love with Chloe longer than he thought. Her smile, her attitude, everything; he even loves fighting with her. But the woman can’t stand him and it’s time he cut his losses. When she offers them to find a match for each other, he figures he can’t lose much else. But this is an experiment gone wrong when the thought of any other man with her drives him wild. These two have one of the hottest fights turned first kiss ever! If only they would just talk to one another, honestly, they’d realize that they can make this work!
A slow burn that builds up to some hot passion, Chloe and Dom light up every page with their quick wit and inability to stay away from one another. Like all of their friends, you just want to shout “He/She loves you, you idiot!” at them the whole time they fight their attraction. I loved this heated new read and want so much more!
The Dating Experiment is book two in The Experiment #2, it can be read as a standalone. It’s Dominic and Chloe’s story. These two are funny at times and frustrating at other times. They work together. Chloe is Peyton’s best friend and Peyton is Dominic’s sister. They both like each other but think the other hates them. They have this crazy relationship where they fight all the time. One kiss changes everything for them. I was internally cheering when Dom finally admitted that he wanted Chloe. This one is a fun read.
What do you do when you’re in love with your best friends brother and he doesn’t know? You try to get over him of course! Chloe has loved Dom since she was younger. She tries her hardest to get over him buy going on a date with another guy. Dom is handsome and annoying but is in love with Chloe as well. Little does Chloe know, Dom has been doing little things for her. When she finds out, it melts her heart.
Falling in love with your best friends brother is never part of the plan, but it happened. Not knowing what to do with this feeling is the worse in the world. But ignoring the feeling wasn’t the ideal situation either. This is another amazing book by Emma!!
I could not wait to read Chloe’s story!! The trio Peyton, Chloe and Mellie made me laugh so much that I feel now like we are BFF. If you fancy a story that is going to make you LOL, that is fun and romantic, then The Dating Experiment is the one for YOU!
“I had to accept it. I was twenty-seven. It was time for me to stop holding onto a girlish dream and look to the future.”
Chloe always had a massive crush on Peyton’s brother- Dominic. To call it a crush is actually an understatement- She worships him and has been waiting for 10 years for him to make a move.
The craziness is that Dom is her business partner and she sees him every day and she loves/hates everything about him- his clumsiness and the way he gets on her nerves so easily. I think that we can say that they have a love hate relationship.
“Desperation makes you do stupid things. Like open a dating website with the guy you’ve been in love with almost your entire life.”
However, when they decide to find the perfect dates for each other, things do not go as planned. Chloe being Chloe, she pushed and pushed and pushed Dom just because she wanted to know why he was not brave to speak to the girl he likes…. She harassed him and BOOM they kiss!!
“Reality didn’t make sense. I’d never really understood why I felt the way I did about him—I just felt it. It was the same as liking tacos or pizza just was. Love. It made no sense.”
What happened from that moment? Go and grab the Dating experiment to find out.
“Getting over Chloe Collins was a mountain the size of Everest, and I wasn’t sure I was able to climb it.”
I loved Chloe- she is bubbly and sassy on one side and insecure on the other side.
1. Best girls’ chat
2. Pizza and tacos
3. Téquila
Are guaranteed! Be prepared to LOL, snort a lot and literally cry laughing!

ARC kindly received in exchange for an honest review.
The Dating Experiment was a really fast read. It was fun to finally get the story between Dom and Chloe, although I do wish it had a little more depth that it did. The fights and battles between these two were funny at times, and other times I just wanted to smack them in the head.
Having our faves from the previous books, make appearances was always fun, particularly the bits with Peyton.
I love the idea of Dom and Chloe’s business, and how they try to get over each other by setting one another up with matches from their program. The story flowed fast and smoothly, without too many issues. My main problem was just that I wished there was more depth/serious moments/communication – something along those lines, between Dom and Chloe.
But even with saying that, I still had trouble actually putting the book down. I had to keep reading to know what was going to happen, how was this all going to blow up between them, when the point finally came? As such I sped through the book in less than 24 hours.
“I don’t want to stop fighting with you , Chlo. If we stop fighting, it means we’ve stopped caring. Even about the little things.
I have been really excited to get this story, because I love love love when two people hide their love with silly arguing and pretending to not like each other. Chloe and Dom proved to be a great example of why I continually read these types of stories.
Let me start with what I loved most: the witty bantering/arguing. I’ve always been the kind of person that is quick with the comeback, so when I see books that have the same type of heroine, I gravitate toward them. Something Emma does REALLY well in all her books, is to give her characters great dialogue. I love reading stories where the characters not only disagree sometimes, but can make me laugh while they do it.
In this story, I not only got to laugh out loud, but my heart felt it, too. So often when someone says “romantic comedy,” people think that perhaps there isn’t any depth to a story. Sure, there isn’t as much angst in this story as others, but as much as I laughed, my heartstrings were also pulled.
This series has really been more than I expected. I’ve really enjoyed laughing and feeling all the love from this group of friends!
The 2nd book in The Experiment series based around the three girls – Mellie, Peyton and Chloe – and their relationship with each other (awesome best friends) and with their men!! This is Chloe and Dom’s story!
The other two books for Mellie and Peyton were sassy, sexy and funny so I was really looking forward to hearing about Chloe, who has been in love with Dom, Peyton’s brother, for the past 10 years or so!! Not only that, they work together running a dating site, but man oh man they do not get on well together!! They fight like cat and dog, forever bickering, snarking, sassing and at each other’s throats – the banter between them really had me laughing at times, such snark!!! What Chloe doesn’t know is that Dom is in love with her also, neither of them thinking the other one has any feelings towards them, especially the way they fight. So Chloe has decided enough is enough and she needs to get over him and move on, and gets him to set up a date off their website – he gets her to do the same, but can they watch each other on dates and move on, or will this trigger something else??
A great read, funny, sexy and sassy – the chemistry and sexual frustration between these two literally jumps off the pages!! Their relationship is any but conventional, but it works for them, and it makes a wonderful read. Highly recommended reading!
Out of the 3 books this is my favorite so far… I wouldn’t consider it a rom com, but more of a enemies/friends to lovers book.. I loved the twist and the turn of events!
This is the second book in The Experiment series. It could be read as a standalone, but I suggest you read them in order. You do get Chloe and Dom, fights and all, in the first book also.
Dom and Chloe have been in love with each other forever. But neither knows how the other feels. They actually think the other hates them.
They fight like cats and dogs.
Dom is constantly losing things.
Chloe can be a little high strung at times.
A bet started the experiment in the first book. For this book, Chloe knows she hast to get over Dom and move on. So they match each other up. Since they do own Stupid Cupid, a match making company.
There are a lot of funny parts in this, so be prepared to laugh.
I really enjoyed reading this.
