Quick read for me but the story really showcases Hannah Griffin’s insecurities about her self, her looks, her life…her all. For most of her life, she’s had a major crush on her BFF’s (Lucy) brother, Blake. The Date Next Door is all about Hannah coming to believe in herself and her own worth, and that helps her get to an HEA. And Blake is pretty much a straight up guy, even when you think he isn’t, so to me, they make a great couple. And reading about all the obstacles in Hannah’s way – both in her personal life and her work life – makes her story/journey all worth while.
Another fun book in the series.
Hannah is now roommates with her friend Lucy after couch hopping for a while. Great friends even though they are polar opposites financially. Lucy had a crush on Hannah’s brother, Blake who now lives next door. So not a good situation, or is it?
Really loved this sexy, fun and engaging journey filled with witty and engaging charters, emotionally thrilling twists and an undeniable passion that will not be ignored….. Heartwarming, laugh out loud, highly entertaining adventure from beginning to end and so hard to put down.
Another captivating story that will pull you in from the start and keep with each turn of the page. This brother’s best friend story line is fresh and fun, that you can’t help but fall in love with Hannah and Blake.
This sweet romance has just the right amount of humor, moments you would want to hide from, great friends and love that make this quick read perfect to get lost in.

Cute and Clean Rom-Com Short
This is a very cute and clean, novella length, romantic comedy. This story will lighten your heart and put a smile on your face. This author always produces a good story that hits all of the ‘feels’. The only thing missing from this story is a pet! I received this ARC book for free from Booksprout and this is my honest review.
Rating:
I enjoyed this story a bunch. The starting gives enough background but doesn’t take too much time. The actual story starts soon and doesn’t waste time. Every part of the story was fun and didn’t seem boring or unnecessary. The characters were wonderfully built and easy to imagine. I liked how the story developed and progressed. All in all, it’s a great story for anyone to enjoy.
The story follows Hannah. She’s moved in with her best friend after jumping around a lot. She just got a promotion in which she has to sign a client soon or else she’ll lose her job. After she moves in, she confesses to her best friend that she had a crush on her brother. Her best friend then lets her know that the guy will be moving in next door. To make matters worse, he comes in right after.

A captivating read from beginning to end! An exciting storyline that leaves you breathless wanting more! Sexy steam filled chemistry! Emotionally heartfelt, enjoyable and fun! One heck of a twisted, intense rollercoaster ride! An amazing must read!
Warning – Golf lessons from your crush can be hazardous to your heart
Sometimes you just need a short, sweet, fun and entertaining story to get lost in and laugh out loud with. The Date Next Door, the third book in the Do-Over Date Series by Susan Hatler, is just such a book.
This is the story of Hannah Griffin and Blake Remington. Their story is filled with unrequited love, funny moments, friendships, love and some swoon worthy and sexy men. Then add in some golf and pop in neighbors with wonderful characters that you would love to be friend with and you end up with a wonderful book.
This is another Susan Hatler winner.
I just loved Hannah as well as her bestie Lucy who is an absolute riot especially with what she ears to her date when we first meet her, then there is Blake gah is just well . I want a Blake of my own. This is all about secret crushes, second chances and seeing people for her they are not how they grew up, you will laugh, cringe, want to shake sense into them and high five as well as smack some people across the face and if you want to make reading it even more fun go grab your old prom dress and pop that on!

This book is wonderful! Hannah is moving in with her BFF Lucy, and finds out that her brother, Blake lives next door. She’s had a crush on Blake since high school that’s never gone away. I loved Blake and Hannah’s interactions, Hannah is hilariously funny, and they are truly charming together. This is a beautifully written, sweet, and entertaining romance that anyone will enjoy.

This is a wonderful book. The reason for a 4 star versus a 5 for me is that the book isn’t written in a dual POV format. I would have loved to get Blake’s POV. I feel that it would have made for a fantastic book. I do enjoy reading the stories that this author writes. They are witty, funny and full of charm. I can really see the scenes playing out more like a movie.
Hannah had crushed on her BFF’s older brother Blake for years. She hasn’t seen him in over 5 years but still thinks of him. Unfortunately for her, Blake moves next door and her feelings for him come crashing back. He is from money and she is not. I mean really she doesn’t even know how to eat caviar! (Hilariously funny). Just as Hannah feels like she can date him, his ex-girlfriend comes back and throws a wrench into the budding relationship.
This is a sweet, clean romance that anyone would enjoy. I do highly recommend it to anyone. You will enjoy this even you are like me and prefer a dual POV.
Hannah and Blake’s story was sweet and made me smile. They are so cute together! Adorable 🙂

This was laugh-out-loud funny. Hannah is really hilarious, and she and Blake have great conversations. They are such a cute couple! I don’t usually like stories that revolve around past prom problems because I think they give prom more importance than it could ever have. However, this one is not “I’m still so upset about one night when I was a teenager” but uses the prom as a set-up for lots of very fun moments between Hannah and Blake. I really enjoyed it!
I enjoyed this book. I loved the characters and the bits of humor throughout. There was definitely conflict with what Blake wanted and what everyone else wanted Blake to do especially when it came to which woman is right for him. The choice is Hannah, who is not approved as a choice, or Cassandra, who is approved by all. What will happen? This is a must read Clean romance.
I love a story of a girl falling in love with her best friend’s brother and this one was both humorous and charming. But we’re not in high school anymore, Hannah…
Hannah is a character much like me and will go along with (or run from) anything to avoid conflict. Her sweet friendship with her long-time best friend, Lucy, brought smiles to my face, especially as she allowed Lucy to make her over to an exact replica of her prom night. The meet cute with Blake after all these years made me cringe in a loving, yet completely mortified on Hannah’s behalf, kind of way. Ooh-la-la, Blake! He’s not only perfection still, but he’s all grown up and in the most hunky and satisfying ways ever.
Susan Hatler always does such a great job of incorporating the silly and embarrassing moments that make me laugh out loud with the swoony romantic moments that make my heart drop to my toes, as a fleet of butterflies take up residence in the pit of my stomach.
This series is adorable and this installment will stand out to me like hot pink sneakers paired with a tulle skirted black and silver prom dress.
Content: mild romance (swoony kissing)

A really sweet story. It seems Blake and Hannah have crushed on each other for years. After moving in next door they get to spend time together. They battle society’s expectations, a scorned ex and the golf course.
Hannah is trying to win a client over so that she can prove herself to her new boss. Her best friend’s brother moves in next door. she has had a crush on him since she was younger. He liked her but didn’t think she liked him. They end up doing a couple’s golf tournament together. Will she be true to herself and win her man and client or will she end up loveless and jobless. I loved the ending of this book by Susan Hatler.
The Date Next Door is the third book in Susan Hatler’s Do-Over Date Series. The Date Next Door is good, clean, fun and second chance book. Ms. Hatler wrote an entertaining story which drew me right in, kept me engaged and turning the pages. This was a very nice distraction for this time in our lives. The story is well written, the characters well developed and believable. It is definitely one of those books that will keep you laughing.
Susan Hatler has written another excellent book! It features Hannah Griffin, who volunteers for a couples golf tournament even though she does not play golf, and Blake Remington, who has Hannah as his golf partner and must teach her to play. Add in an ex-girlfriend and you’ve got the ingredients for a great romance plot. I highly recommend this fun and humorous book which is guaranteed to put a smile on your face!
