Rachael Herron seamlessly blends romance, friendship, and laughter. Barbara Bretton, USA Today Bestselling Author From international bestseller Rachael Herron, comes a book too delightful to put down:The saloon had always looked old-fashioned, but now it resembled a set in a ghost town. The problem was that Adele wasn’t in an old western, or a ghost town. Darling Bay was the sleepy gold-rush … in an old western, or a ghost town. Darling Bay was the sleepy gold-rush town her great-grandfather had given his name to.
The town she’d left for good a long time ago.
The building is a ruin, the business is broke and customers are scarce. Add into the mix Nate Houston – the handsome, guitar-playing bartender who had always believed he would be the next owner – and Adele has one potent cocktail on her hands.
Can a rundown saloon in a sleepy town finally offer Adele a way into love?

A little mystery with characters that come alive. So ready to read the next book in the series
You know what will happen but you don’t want to put it away
Leaves you hoping
Cute series
This was an interesting if predictable book. The characters are well drawn & not always likable. But you are pulling for them to get their acts together & celebrate their victories when they finally do. It’s a good summer read.
not well developed.
A little slow at the beginning, but stick with it. It’s a sweet story about finding home in place the main character, and her sisters visited growing up. Beware, this is a series. The author will give you a sneak peak to number 2 in the ‘Darling’ series at the conclusion of this book.
Too much emotional drama. Just one or two of the plot tragedies would have been plenty.
I kept reading it but didn’t really enjoy it
Cant wait to read the next in the series.
I like the settings characters and style of writing.
Great read for the hopeless romantic.
Gvery boring book
Quick easy read.
Few too many adverbs and adjectives … like page fillers… could have had a little more substance. Ended up skipping and skimming to get to the meat of the story. Hope her other books have more substance
too sexy , seems most are these days. Did have some depth of characters, and real emotional baggage to work through.
The Darling Songbirds is a pretty good book. It uses a lot of flashbacks to the same scene (enough, already!). The plot (May I call it that?) is not always the most believable story ever told. It is okay, but I wouldn’t pay a lot for it.
Getting to know a loved one through others eyes after they’ve passed away. Trying to deal with the should’ve could’ve, would’ve after the loss. Finding love when not looking. An enjoyable read.
A very good story.
I love the way the story just rolled along from one thing to another, plus two added books to read with the same characters!
