When teenage sisters go missing in the mysterious ‘Bennington Triangle’ of Vermont, an area renowned for its disappearances, and strange occurrences over the past hundred years, FBI agent Jack Juarez brings Jamie and her dog Phantom in to assist with the search. When Jack learns that the case shares haunting similarities with the murders of the missing girls’ aunts ten years before, he realizes they’re dealing with much more than two girls who simply wandered off the beaten path. And when a young girl appears in the shadows, visible to Jamie alone, it becomes clear that something is desperately wrong here.

First time reading this author, started the next book immediately.
Creepy in a good way.
Not a good bed time read if you have to get up in the morning. Just can’t put it down until the end.

Love her books. I like the dog training in it along with the sitting on the edge of your seat when you read it. Have several of her books.

Loved this book. I’m terrible about finishing books. If you love dogs or crime you’ll love this book
Really enjoyed reading this book & was sorry when it ended and I would like to read more by this Jen Blood.
This is a search and rescue taking place up a forested mountain….for two missing girls. But quickly turns into a mystery as women have gone missing there before and the author does a good job of creating the damp woods infested with spirits of the dead. And the rescue teams become involved in rescuing the one surviving girl as Bear and Ren are held hostage till the girl is found.
The intrigue concerns the FBI and an incident years ago plus the present day case involving Jen, the mom of Bear and Jack (FBI) working to find the missing before her son is killed in retribution.
The search using dogs is done well and very interesting and the atmosphere is tense and keeps moving.
It does become a bit confusing towards the end with a red herring thrown in that doesn’t make sense and the killer exposed doesn’t really answer all the questions. As the dark force isn’t explained but since it is a spirit, maybe that’s okay.
A fast read, maybe a keeper and Jen and Bear…we’re left to wonder about their past. So maybe a second book on their past is in order.
Warning that the violence is graphic against the women and I think it would have been just as horrific without the details. I’m not squeamish, just do not appreciate the details as not needed to maintain the tension and suspence.
Loved it! It’s a great book and I hope that those that decide to read it like it as much as I did.
Could not put this book down. Good read. Can’t wait to get my hands on more of her books.
