For fans of John Connolly, Nevada Barr, and dogs of all shape and size, the first novel in the new Flint K-9 Search and Rescue Mysteries, from the author of the USA Today-bestselling Erin Solomon Mysteries.Meet Jamie Flint — a no-nonsense veteran K-9 trainer and handler with a ‘gift’ she’d be happy to return: like her dogs, Jamie can sense things the rest of the world is blind to.When teenage … world is blind to.
When teenage sisters go missing in the mysterious ‘Bennington Triangle’ of Vermont, an area renowned for its disappearances, and strange occurrences over the past hundred years, FBI agent Jack Juarez brings Jamie and her dog Phantom in to assist with the search. When Jack learns that the case shares haunting similarities with the murders of the missing girls’ aunts ten years before, he realizes they’re dealing with much more than two girls who simply wandered off the beaten path. And when a young girl appears in the shadows, visible to Jamie alone, it becomes clear that something is desperately wrong here.

While this book is dark, haunting and originally twisted, the story is one that can’t be put down. Set in a part of the country that is still a bit mysterious, it showcases the work the teams of search and rescue dogs and handlers do as well as people being given second chances at life.
A good red, left me wanting more.
I highly recommend this book, even though I haven’t even finished reading it yet. It is that good!
Excellent writing strong plot interesting characters
Very good read. Supenseful, and interesting. Made me want to read book 2.
Loved it!
Very good. good characters, loved the dogs.
The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is that some people might find it haunting and disturbing.
This is a murder mystery with several twists, one being the heroine is a trained Search and Rescue person with her dog. There is some romance thrown in with the handsome federal agent on the case, too. This is a book that’s hard to put it down at night!
This was a bit confusing to read but still enjoyed the story line.
A wonderful book; I couldn’t put it down. Kept me interested throughout, I HIGHLY recommend. Definitely 5 stars.
Well written. Fast paced
I loved the protagonist with her pragmatic approach to things. The interactions with the search & rescue dogs and their handlers are engaging, and ring true. I also enjoyed the idea of the protagonist and her son both having a touch of supernatural talent; it’s handled very deftly, feels realistic, and never sinks the story into feeling like some magical fantasy tale.
There’s a bizarre turn early in the book, however, that has nothing to do with the supernatural but seems to be sheer human incompetence, and I found it really difficult to believe. Even though I have great faith in the ability of humans to muck things up, this just felt too farfetched.
Despite that, the dogs kept me reading, and because I did, I can say that it’s still good storytelling. There are plenty of twists and turns right up to the end. I’d definitely recommend this book, especially to animal lovers.
Fantastic read!
Caught me at the beginning and help me to the end so much that I got the second book too
Awesome! Drawn in from the beginning! Left so much room for development I’m hoping for the next in the series!
I love dogs and that is what drew me to this book. It was great to read about how search and rescue dogs work. Also, it was a good supernatural story.
Kept me reading far into the night. Not knowing who was the bad guy kept me guessing. Loved it
