All good things must come to an end, Constant Reader, and not even Stephen King can make a story that goes on forever. The tale of Roland Deschain’s relentless quest for the Dark Tower has, the author fears, sorely tried the patience of those who have followed it from its earliest chapters. But attend to it a while longer, if it pleases you, for this volume is the last, and often the last things … things are best.
Roland’s ka-tet remains intact, though scattered over wheres and whens. Susannah-Mia has been carried from the Dixie Pig (in the summer of 1999) to a birthing room — really a chamber of horrors — in Thunderclap’s Fedic; Jake and Father Callahan, with Oy between them, have entered the restaurant on Lex and Sixty-first with weapons drawn, little knowing how numerous and noxious are their foes. Roland and Eddie are with John Cullum in Maine, in 1977, looking for the site on Turtleback Lane where “walk-ins” have been often seen. They want desperately to get back to the others, to Susannah especially, and yet they have come to realize that the world they need to escape is the only one that matters.
Thus the book opens, like a door to the uttermost reaches of Stephen King’s imagination. You’ve come this far. Come a little farther. Come all the way. The sound you hear may be the slamming of the door behind you. Welcome to The Dark Tower.

Could not put it down! Live Mr Kong’s books!
This book was phenomenal! The second one is even better. I love Stephen king’s style of writing .
I like Stephen Kings books
Well, I’m done. At times, the sheer volume of pages in this series has seemed daunting. At times, I’ve been so angry at Stephen King for the twists and turns the story that unfolded for the Ka-Tet of 19. At times, this series — and especially this final book — ventured so far outside my comfort zone, that I wanted to slam the book shut and never …
Cliff hanger ending
A good book however the ending was stupid.
I have read all but two Stephen King books and only 6 away from having my collection finished to date. The Dark Tower series is scary, twisted, true to Stephen King horror. Stephen King, in my opinion, is the best horror author in that genre. The Dark Tower will not disappoint!
This book will have you hooked to the series. It is so much better than the movie. There is no way a movie can make you feel the range of emotions you get from the book. Using a gunslinger is an interesting twist. the world after the bomb is a grim place and only the strong and or crazy survive.
I wish tgey would remake the movie..
Cosmic horror, gun slinging, and all manners of ghastly things make the Dark Tower a personal favourite of mine.
All thing Dark Tower were fantastic! As a fan of Stephen King for as long as I can remember, this book as well as the entire series was a page-turner.
I loved the characters in the books, it kept you in the story like you were there.
This is such a colossal story. Settle in, it’s quite a ride.
This whole series is one of my favorites!
If you like Harry Potter and sci-fi, read this series!!! Start with The Stand!!!!! DO NOT WATCH THE MOVIE BEFORE READING THE SERIES
I can easily say that when it comes to characters, Stephen King is a master. He paints even the most inconsequential character into a true work of art.
When following Roland and his ka-tet through their adventure to the Dark Tower, the reader can feel an intimacy for these characters, as if they’ve known them all their lives.
If you think you …
Final book of this series. Ending is a letdown if you are wanting a true conclusion.
Epic King. Sorry the series ended.
I finally read them all! If you have started this series then you definitely have to finish. I love love love the ending. I read some reviews where some did not like it so much. I thought it was excellent! Now what am I going to read?!?
