The Dark Prince – a review by Rosemary Kenny
A sensational conclusion to the 4 book Mages of New York series, Sean Fletcher’s The Dark Prince ticks all the boxes in creating a fitting finale for Skylar Richest, her parents Aspen and Isak, her beloved, Asher, BFF Mia, Coulson, Mage Lucien, ‘Cursed One’ Miranda, the eponymous Dark Prince and even the Rivests’/Academy’s frenemy Kashia, with her side-kick Greublen and shadow cohorts.
A dangerous Dragon journey, a severing and a resolution, a hard lesson learned and used to advantage in times of great peril, the epic battle of good against evil, with both unanticipated allies and enemies, as the fate of the New York Academy and our heroine hang in the balance – so many brilliant scenes, all the non-stop action and sky-high suspense as the ‘upper hand’ repeatedly changes sides, you’ll feel exhausted, yet triumphantly satisfied by the end, as you’re so emotionally invested in the outcome you won’t want to put it down, or believe that it’s finally over!
Grab your enchanting fantasy epic copy of this spellbinding masterpiece by Master of Magical Mystery, Sean Fletcher’s The Dark Prince to discover how the saga ends – then binge read all four in order for a truly incredible adventure, with the Mages of New York.

With a tight woven plot, non stop action, fast-paced narrative and emotional moments that left me teary eyed, “The Dark Prince” brings closure to the series in the most amazing way. So much is going on in this book you will want to know what is happening next. Can Skylar stop Kasia? What will her friends do to help? Now the fae are involved, but what will happpen when they see what Kisia is doing? Will they help or leave? What about the cursed one, are they wanting to take her? Could Skylar and her friends die this time, since Kasia is getting stronger? I recieved a free book for my honest review.
ONE BAD@SS FINALE
Explosive! Sean blasts through full throttle, delivering this action packed, hard hitting, heart pounding, pulse racing, adrenaline pumping, block buster, checking allies and dispatching foes, wrapping this baby up sleek, shiny and tight. A raging tempest of vexing exigency and perplexing events, observing the taxing trials and arduous tribulations, stumbling through the startling twists and wicked turns, testing our characters in ways they could have never envisioned. Disadvantages are heightened and exploited, laying out all the fervent facts, feels and fiascos, igniting fierce determination with such intensity and vigor, shifting this jewel into overdrive, kicking into a frenzy with an astonishing realization. Entwined, combined and tightly woven, baring the thrilling quirks and defying bents, propelling this jewel to a whole new level and testing our characters in ways they could have never anticipated. The characters, interactions and charged atmosphere along with relatable qualities and individual traits add diversity, transforming into formidable personalities. The scenes are abundantly descriptive with colorful details that blend and flow, creating a majestic backdrop that’s so rich and lively it feels like you can just reach out and touch it. Remarkable job Sean, thanks for sharing this little jewel with us.
“You ready?” – “Not at all. Let’s do this.”
In this fitting finale to the series, Skylar starts by getting on the bad side of the Fae. I’m tempted to say that it seems to run in the family, but it’s probably more of a species thing… And let’s just say that, for Skylar and her friends, everything goes ever more pear-shaped after that.
Once more, Skylar is up against overwhelming odds, hunted by the Fae and Kasia and her acolytes alike, all the while trying to prevent that pesky god of hers from breaking free.
Yeah, right. (I did mention the whole thing going pear-shaped?)
To be honest, though, the actual boss battle against Kasia is over somewhat quicker than I expected.
That being said, I would also like to mention that I truly appreciate – not only in this series, but in all of Sean Fletcher’s books I’ve read so far – that not everything is clear-cut, there’s no obvious black and white, and I occasionally find myself sympathizing with the alleged villain.
