Warning: This is not your typical romance. The story of Abby & Jake contains disturbing situations, graphic violence, sex, strong language, drug use, and all types of abuse.
Abby has been through hell and has survived one of the most brutal childhoods imaginable… barely.
To the outside world she is just a loner with an attitude.
When her grandmother dies in a tragic explosion, Abby is left … dies in a tragic explosion, Abby is left with questions-and nothing else.
Homeless, sleeping in a junkyard, and on the run from a system that has failed her over and over again, she meets Jake, a tattooed blue-eyed biker with secrets that rival her own.
Two broken souls that can’t be healed. They can’t be saved.
Abby & Jake have to decide if they can accept the darkness not only within one another, but within themselves.
If they can accept each other for who they really are, they might be able to learn that love isn’t always found in the light.

O.M.G.!
I love this story so hard!!!!
Despite its ugly and violent parts, despite its darkness and anguish and hopelessness …
Because there are also those parts that balance out all the evil that happens, those parts that put the broken pieces together, and heal all that’s jagged and shattered.
It’s an incredibly emotional story that had me …
Silver linings ?
I read this book after reading king and tyrant instead of before . And after the intensity of king I think I was expecting a little More from jake.
Jakes monster intrigued me in tyrant , and although we got glimpses of it in this book the majority of the book was from bee’s perspective so there isn’t a great deal of depth to our …
Ok bros. Here’s the deal I legit don’t think I’ve been this frustrated with the characters of a book… ever? Like, I just CANNOT. I was done with this book at about the halfway mark and it didn’t get any better. Wish I would’ve just DNF’d, to be honest. The only reason this is getting 2 stars is because I liked the first half.
This story is dark, but it’s darn good.
Please don’t read the book if you have triggers because it will only cause you to not see just how well written it is.
The story is about Bee. If the absolute worse can happen to a person, it has happened to her. Jake, the guy we all thought was going to be a POS when first introduced, ends up being the …
Jake and Abby, the missing couple to my growing love of characters created by TM. I’ve briefly met them throughout the King series, but I never got around to reading their story. I can’t believe I waited so long! I’ve been told over and over that I needed to read this but just never got around it. With a bit of time on my hands I decided to pick …
This book has my emotions all over the place. Bee life was filled with so much pain and suffering but she’s a survivor. Jake and Bee are both broken but together they are whole. And revenge is so sweet.
5 GOOD,BAD,LIGHT AND DARK STARS
Firstly I sort of went backwards and read this after King, Tyrant and lawless being a standalone it didn’t matter Jake had brief encounters in these books which piqued my interest and I wanted to know who he was and, OMG!
To say I loved Jake is an understatement from the very beginning of Jake’s story it grips …
So first, I freaking loved the first four King series books. Just LOVED them. The dark stuff doesn’t bother me and the way this author writes it is pretty awesome. That said, this one was a great read, but the relationship progression was like warp speed. I expected more… realistic relationship build up, like time for Abby to learn to trust Jake …
This book was really good I thought. It really broke my heart. Abby and Jake… I can’t say because I don’t want to ruin it but it was sad and made me angry and I loved it.
Where to start…loved this book! Two broken young people find each other. She was raised by drug addicts who abused her terribly. He was blamed for his brothers accident. She never seems to catch a break. This book is a bit dark so if you are queasy about abuse or rape don’t read it.
‘The dark light of day’ is the first book that I read from the writer T.M. Frazier. My intention was to start with her ‘King’ series but then I read somewhere that this book ‘The dark light of day’ is the prequel to the ‘King’ series so I decided to start with this one first. And after reading the blurb, I knew that this wouldn’t be a ‘light’ …
Frazier was absolutely fantastic at weaving this story together. The darkness, pain, and flickerings of hope and love were brilliantly written right from the beginning. I went through so many emotions and spent so much time on edge as I was reading.
The way that Jake was saving Abby and delicately peeling back the layers to get to know her (as …
This was my introduction to T.M. Frazier and also my very first signed PB ever! Love Jake and Abby’s relationship and the saga they created together. I fell in love with Jake and he is still my favorite cameo in Frazierland.
I’ve been wanting to start this series for a while, and I finally jumped in yesterday. I read the entire book in an afternoon. When I jump, I go big! 🙂
I am a huge fan of T.M. Frazier’s writing style. I love her characters and the way you get sucked into cheering on the underdog. This story was no exception. I loved Abby, and I just …
This is another novel by T.M. Frazier, which not disappoint me in terms of well-written, well-thought and profound history, but also provided a lot of emotions.
“The dark light of day flirted with the horizon, peeking out a little at a time.”
The action of this book happened in a small town, where everyone knows each other.
Jake and Abby are two …
“Walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light. ”
Okay so T.M. Frazier is becoming one of those auto buy authors for me. So far every book I’ve read from her has be four stars and above. Well I love the King series with all it’s flaws and my Preppy. When I found out that Abby and Jake had their own story I was down …
“I was in love with the angel and in lust with the devil. If I were honest with myself, I’d have to say that I was in love with the devil, too.”
Emotionally charged, tugging at my heart, this story will stay with me for a long time. The strength exuded from Abby is palpable, as she struggles through cringe-worthy events. The fight for happiness …
should’ve trusted the warning, not my cup of tea
Tacky.
